The World Cup has finally come to an end. It took more than two months to determine the best foreign StarCraft nation. The final two teams surprised nobody: Canada and Poland. Canada emerged victorious. If you missed it, read it here. The consolation match was a shocker. Two teams expected to go far: Spain and Russia, were knocked out in the first round. The nations who defeated them: Peru and Norway respectively, went on to the semi finals where they lost. In the third place match, Peru walked all over the Norweigans, winning 5-0. You can read all about that, including the interview with their leader at WGTour. The tournament was a great success with upsets nearly every step of the way. Number one Spain falling to sixteen seed Peru, Norway taking down the mighty Russian empire, and more.

With the tournament over, here is how the final 16 teams placed.

Hope everyone at TeamLiquid enjoyed the coverage - a bit different from your usual cup of Korean progaming tea. A replay pack consisting of 61 replays has been made. It includes such players as MYM.Testie, ToT)Hullah(, xLo.IefNaij, ToT)Xiaozi( and many more. You can download it at WGTour. On behalf of the WGTour admins, congrats to Canada for winning. See you next season?!

Was a nice tournament, GG and thx WGT for organising. I hope more seasons will come.
But i have to criticise the coverage and the hype done for it. It's a very big and important tournament. This time gg.net didn't even had coverage for everymatch like last time. Not to say that news usually come very late.
They first ignore you. After they laugh at you. Next they will fight you. In the end you will win.

That falls on GG's shoulders - not mine. I did the coverage here at TL and at WGTour. I'm only one man!

Yes Dknight, i'm not talking about you .. you did a great job and i apreciate it.
But YOU (as in WGT) should have more people working on it and have relations with gg.net (at least) to have a much better coverage.
Why are you the only editor who wrote about this anyway?

The prizes. SS = SteelSeries

QcK Heavy = mousepad
QcK + = mousepad

Heavy is an better quality pad than the +.
