The concept of the fourth SuperFight is the 'Ace Match Tournament'
SuperFight 4 will be held on January 27 at Jamshil Indoor Arena
All 12 teams (11 pro teams + Air Force team) can include up to six players in their rosters. Each match will be a one-game ace match. WIth 12 teams bringing 6 players each, much of the fun for the fans will be seeing all their favorite gosus and speculating on matchups.
Each game will be held under ace match rules - each coach reveals their player at the last minute. Repeat appearances are allowed.
Each team will sumbit their roster, which will be announced on the 15th. The tournament draw will be held on the 21, and announced on the 23rd.
There are four seeded teams: SKT T1 (Term 1 Champion), MBCgame HERO (Term 2 Champion), CJ ENTUS and Hanbit Stars (first and second place overall between two terms)
All 11 matches will be shown on GomTV and Naver.com. The cable channel XTM will show the 7 matches starting from the quarterfinals.
The winning team gets 20,000 USD, the MVP gets 3000 USD and the Best Coach gets 2000 USD.
Round of 12 A1 vs A2 on Arkanoid B1 vs B2 on Tau Cross C1 vs C2 on Arcadia 2 D1 vs D2 on New Peaks of Baekdu
Round of 8 Group A Winner vs S1 on Arkanoid Group B Winner vs S2 on Arcadia 2 Group C Winner vs S3 on New Peaks of Baekdu Group D Winner vs S4 on Tau Cross
This idea is pretty awesome. I'm surprised that a newly founded channel like CJ can host such a giganic event with all 12 pro teams. Hope that Boxer can play a game for Army Force team (Savior will crush all other aces though )
KTF better bring their best lineup and fucking let rA play some games, they weren`t using him much in proleague. Overall this new event should be exciting. Great effort CJ!
omgomg, this looks wonderful - getting excited already !
I really love superfights, they bring entertaining matchups / formats / ideas to the table! Wonder how many times we'll see airforce picking boxer and cj picking savior though - I have a distinct feeling it will be more than once
This is going to be some crazy gaming that day. Awsome :D.
What I'd like to see in a superfight in a Battle Royal as in a 8 player FFA between progamers on some huge 256x256 map. That would be the best ever haha.

i agree that would be awesome too but the camera would be flying around to try and cover everything and you wouldn't know whos who :p

Oh yeah that would be awesome. maybe team fortress or something like that.
On a more serious note(joking), they could do a trainer battle tournament in which each team's coach acts like a poke..progamer trainer with 6 progamers, and they can use these progamers until they fain...fail to win. Each winner of a round gets 3 revives to prepare for next round.
why would KTF include Reach. THere's no rationale for it TT_TT I really hope they dont play him, if they are actually interested in winning. I'd rather take Aqua over Reach for crying out loud.
I think a pokemon style tournament is the best way to showcase both individual performance and team strength and identity. Each team's coach acts like a poke..progamer trainer with 6 progamers, and they can use these progamers until they fain...fail to win. Each winner of a round gets 3 revives to prepare for next round. The way they toss out..eh, pick gamers is like the old leagues, the first match is all pick, then loser pick a new player and so on. I think this highlights the individual players much more than the current rather random match up style.

Overall seems gonna be an awesome event though, with all our favorite players there =).
uh ... that's easy? the point of ACE match is not knowing who you are going to face. Having 1 player in a team does not fit that rule. You'll see there will be some very unexpected matches.
im not really getting it. so it is like a proleague match but with only 1 ace game or is it just like a proleague match but they don't announce players before their game? if it is a whole bunch of matches then how long will this thing go on for? does the airforce team have 6players?

Its just BO1 between teams, each team has 6 players to choose from. 11 matches in total, which fits with about the amount of matches in other superfights.
I find with the map selection though that it will be pretty obvious in some cases who a team will send out. And teams really wont be able to show much variety, it will just be like "OH MY GOSH THEY SENT IN YELLOW" but once a team loses they are out. I dunno, im underwhelmed by this one but love the idea. Would be cool for a whole league really.
Oh come on, I'm sure having Much, Iris, or Xellos fill in for one zerg-killer map isn't unreasonable, so that Savior doesn't have to prepare three matchups on three different maps. Oh wait, Longinus isn't in the map pool. Nevermind.
This is going to be awesome...I believe that SlayerS_`BoxeR` is keeping a really cool strategy for this tournament...there are many possible candidates for the first place...I hope AnyTime[gm] Team goes far in this SuperFight 4...

Wasn't there a thread with a link to instructions with pictures on where to click to do this? Or was it just somewhere in the Watch Starcraft Live thread? I can't remember how I did it, and can't find the thread? (or has it changed since the last superfight)

boxer with 2 rines on the 5 ramp, i guess he wanted to make soul T think he was on 5 o clock... which he acutally might think, b/c soul just lost his scv to the two rines at 5 ramp
Jaedong attempted a mass speedlings attack which failed (but he killed lots of zealots in the process). Now has mutalisks out but Stork looks prepared.

Well actually it still crashes... randomly. I can't open the first stream anymore, keeps crashing.
I'm 3/4. Didn't think the airforce team which I assumed gets much less practice than a real progaming team would be able to win their first round. Damn sheis and his carelessness, letting those vultures in.

another ground of mnm for light in from of luxury's coke, lings run past and head to light's choke but 3 rines and an scv prevent, the mnm comes back and kills lings
lurker ling avoid the light force, move into light's main, lurker burrow at ramp, mass scv repair on bunker that funishes just in time, along with turret
vessle out now for light, 3 rax 1 fac 1 port off of 1 base, 4 tanks atm, light goes in and kills 2 lurkers at the expense of 1/2 his mnm, like 1/2 a ground left
shuttle storm drop at 6, scourge quickly eliminates it. Reach has begun an expo at 8, the nat top of the main from the bottom left position.
Units have retreated from top right to bottom left to attack the neutral building protecting bottom left. Savior is biding time, harassing, forcing him back, kill obs, nydus abuse.
that 8 expo is quickly killed, drop attack on it. 3 sairs arrive to harass the overlords on the freshly killed expo. Reach loses his small renegade army from the bottom left. (consisted of 10 zeals 1 ht and 3 goons.)
Why Luxury plays the same race, in the same team and has the same hair style with fake YellOw? It makes things so confusing. One copied another player's ID and the other one copied his brother appearance -.seriously I guess those brothers don't have a sense of originality ><
Drone ferry by the use of nydus into top right. Expoes being made at all the expoes of the top right position. Zeal/ht, fighting desperately against ultra. Barely wins the fight.

looks like a zeal got 2 probe kills, goon fight on teh north bridge, free with a far superior position.
jangbi with 2 more reavers
both players expanding to their gas nats, jangbi's slightly faster
goon reaver from jangbi, goon only for free, jangbi loses one reaver, picks up the other, jabgbi looks... ahead before the free reinf, but the reinforcements turn the tide in free's favor.
jangbi expands to the 4 o clock mineral only, free's shuttel doesnt have speed, almost shot down by jangbi, jangbi drops a ht and zeal at free nat, fries 4-5 probes, it hink free dropped ht zeal on jangbi nat, but i'm not sure how much it killed.
jangbi maynard to the 4 min only, dt killing some probes on the way, short fight at teh left of jangbi nat, both sides lose a few units
free positions his army in front of that nat, janbi trying to cross that center bridge, good storms from jangbi, also trapping a 1/5 of free's army that was trying to cross teh bridge back north
2nd hatchery in main for shark, 14 or so lings enter sharks' main, attacking spire, shark using lings and sunken to kill lings... hmm, spire finishes... and lings kill the spire
sharks' first muta dies to scourge, savior's 2 mutas reach sharks' main, 4 mutas now, i think mass scourge for shark, 2 mutas left for saviro i think, 4 scourge for shark, 3 mutas for savior now, shark adds a muta.
canata moves out with 6 tanks, sieges them, successfully does dmg to canata's contain, but a 4 tank 4 goli drop from canta, fbh has to fight it off with scv and some golis.
fbh brings back his tanks and golis to get this cleared
look at this gayness. Did they really even bring any other CJ members here? at least they're really using their motherfucking ace, UNLIKE GODDAMN KTF or SOUL
rainbow scouts savior's spire, 3 zeal and 1 ht for rainbow heading north, meets 2 lurkers, 1 zeal hit and storm kills 1 lurker, 3 slow zeals have no chance vs 6 hydras though
rainbow expanding to 7 expo, hydras kill probe, savior morphs lurkers on the ramp to 7 to prevent reinf, but rainbow storms and kills the eggs. that actually wasted his gas right?
scourge on observe, zeal archon HT from rainbow, but without obs he cannot advance up the wide ramp to the left of the map, rainbow looks at the 8 expo but nothing there. rainbow loses another obs, storm kills 2 or so lurkers so far, probe gets into the 8 expo but it's prolly goin got get killed by hydras
rainbow triple storm, kills lurker and ling, another lurker down, some hydras stormed well, he now has two obs, killking lurkers, tearning through the middle with massive amounts of storm, he's losing a lto of the zealot cover though, morpshing some archons, nice storm on hydras again, liek 4 archon and 3 ht, 1 zeal
hydras dodging storm, hydra lurker comes down teh ramp, 1 reacher from ranibow, kills 2 hydras before hetting killed by hydra hits, rainbow trying to cannon up the 8 expo, rallying zeals and temp.
hive for savior, crack abuse shortly.
rainbow loses 1/2 of his obs, anothe reaver comes, bu thydras kill it after 1 shot.
4 cannons goign up on the 8 expo for rainbow, 5 lurkers try to move in, rainbow pushes it back, but the burrow spreak out well.
rainbow NICE storms on hydras towards the narrow passage, zeal ht zrchon reaver, for rainbow, reaver gets off two shots before dying, hydras reteatedly killed by rainbow's stroming.
5 lurkers in front of the 8 expo, raimbow sends zeal thru middle to check for expos.
savior mving up the 8 epxo ranmp with lurker hydra, cannons and storm manage to repel this, rainbow moves in with zeal arch on the lurekrs and morphing luker eggs there.
rainbow maynarding to 8, savior with endless streams of units thoru. 2 reavers on the nat ramp, picked up by shuttle in time
triple evo for savior, ultra cavern up, reaver drop from rainbow, saviro reacts well, reainbow picks it up, leaves, then comes back agian when savior re-mines and gets a lot of drones i think.
mass drop on the 5 expo from savior, goo dstorms from rainbow kills massive massive numbers of hydra and 4 lurkers or so.
2 cannons left, rainbow loses shuttel to scourge, but does unload the 2 reavers, moving up the highgoudn to the righ of the map.
I think Rainbow is losing terribly, I don't get how you can have a map where protoss can't use dragoons because of their size but allows open spaces for lurker contains. How does protoss ever win on this map, by going reaver sair?
rainbow warps more cannons into his 5 expo, savior with lurker ling and defiler?? at the leftern high ground, rainbow tires to drop on the 2 expo, but scourge kill it.
rainbow sees saviro trying to expand at the 4 expo, prevent this. savior drop tripc with lurkers, making reaver use up its' scarabs at the 8 expo.
mass lings from savior, rallying into the 4 expo area, darkswarm from savior, 5 reaveers trying to fight off teh ultra ling hydra, but it's a losing battle, archons and ht come to reinfoce, rainbow actually manages to kill 90% of the roces but he lost reaver cannon as well at 4
rainbow almost mined out at 5, really needs this 4 expo. wasio flaking rainbow, rainbwo with mass storm deflecting the ultra ling hydra better than anyone woul expect, he comes out on top somehow
rainbow plays a game that was more competitive than anyone would have given him credit for, showing absolutely crazy HT use keeping him in the game. He coudl really never take initiative but msot P's would have rolled over 20 minutes earlier into the game

In terms of popularity in South Korea things arent like that...to prove you my point... From "http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=48870"... "Savior is widely seen as a villain, an end-game boss waiting to be defeated, unlike Boxer, who was a Hero"
Popularity and dominating the scene are two completely different things I don't get what you're saying tbh. anyways sure Nada was dominating and boxer was too with win percentages around 75-80% i assume, but you have to keep in mind that the competition these days is a lot fiercer and also that savior has this incredible record with a race that, well i don't wanna say that zerg is weaker than terran, but it surely is harder to fuck a z with an imbalanced map than a terran and also a little easier to cheese/rush. But of course i assume that his domination will end sooner or later, even though his style is a lot harder to beat/counter like for example July or boxer, who used to rely a lot on low econ/micro gaming. If you recall July vs OOv, who at that time was almost invincible, and july just stomped him with some timed attacks. Eventually people just learned to play safer and started beating him frequently. And Nada was said to be unbeatable as soon as he had one expansion, which was obviously overexaggerated ( a little ), so people tried to hurt him early in order to get an economical advantage. With savior there just not much you can do to counter him, he will always have just enough to survive a timed attack while making tons of drones and i dont remember any of his games within the last 6-12 months where he got successfully cheesed or rushed so yea, it will take some time before someone starts beating him on a regular basis imo

I think it's because sAviOr[gm] was never the winner of The WCG Grand Finals or The WCG Of The South Korea. Compared to SlayerS_`BoxeR`, who won 2 WCG Grand Finals and probably a WCG Of The South Korea. But what do you have to say about iloveoov who managed to win A WCG Grand Finals? Even if he won a WCG Grand Finals, he is still considered as The Monster Terran or The Cheater Terran. But if you want to bring XellOs[yG] into this, then I'd have to agree that him winning the WCG Grand Finals In San-Francisco really boosted his popularity in South Korea.
ill have the games on the tracker in a few hours when they are finished dling.
Infinity, I agree very much with your above post. The thing is, I just dont know what the answer to saviors style is. I think it is more going to be a question of him slipping than others catching up.
i'm really quite speechless... we all talked about a savior all-kill before this superfight, but then actually seeing it play out... unbelieveable
we put so much expectation on this guy, yet he lives up to all of them... it's really a pity he isn't more popular with the fans... his skill is unmatched
Oh and Props to Jangbi. He must be like 5-0 now in televised matches, coming out of nowhere and showing very nice timing and game sense, I have yet to see a big mistake by him
Can't believe noone in this thread mentioned savior putting on a show with that OL + Lurker drop load drop micro vs the reaver. I lolled :D. People on IRC went crazy during half the games, it was soo good :D.

Exactly. Why would winning/losing WCG boost or depreciate your popularity in South Korea? Koreans don't care about WCG nearly as much as our own individual leagues.... WCG is low in priority.

Exactly. Why would winning/losing WCG boost or depreciate your popularity in South Korea? Koreans don't care about WCG nearly as much as our own individual leagues.... WCG is low in priority.
Yeah right... SlayerS_`BoxeR` became a legend in South Korea after WCG 2002...I tell you this because I folowed his success since the beginning...I talk with facts...besides you talk like if you are the spokesman of South Korea...it seems even more awkward when one considers that even I can pick my country as South Korea...

Hahaha, this made me lol. He wasn't made a "legend" due to WCG, it was due to his OSL wins. Of course WCG helped but it didn't automatically make him a legend after 2002.
oooh, i missed that Superfight damn... Well, Savior is so dominant right now, it's incredibly impressive. A bit like Oov in his prime i guess, so much self-confidence.
And please, can someone make Carlosdajin stop, i'd like to laugh at him but he's painfully stupid =(

Yeah, but he hasn't been über-good for that long; to me savior is about as dominating as 2004-oov was~~ so let's see if he can keep this up!
But yeah, he really seems unbeatable....maybe he should just figure "OK, now I'm good enough" and give up practicing to give the other players a chance lol

WCG? lololol....
if i could only find that video where the announcers were talking about how the progamers don't really care about WCG
Im not agreeing with what carlo said but some do care and have in the past, its just thesedays they won't admit it because its better for thier ego when they lose
