Doesn't he always look like that all the time?

I thought he meant gaming-wise.
Midas did look a lot less good than I expected he would from having heard from various SKT gamers that he is an execution machine (I think at least? o_O). ILoveOOv's execution looked a lot more impressive to me.

july vs phoenix on gaia is a must see game
so funny

that was fucking ridiculous, those mutas, damn. phoenix should've won game 1 with better micro, but of course, that's impossible. outmicroing july that is. I feel like if phoenix has better, progamer mechanics, he would have one of the better tvzs compared to a lot pros. also game 1 on PA the drone micro, geez.

Midas` group was a lot harder than Iloveoov`s.
Leg was horribly out of shape and got raped by Lamer, too.
And even Artosis played a nice game against Midas.

btw Cobo´s strategy wasn´t THAT cheesy, it was nicely executed and Midas totally fell for it ...

Another thing is oov looked prepared (for example his strategy against Lamer), while Midas seemed to be going into the games with a naive "I destroy every foreigner without any preparation" - mood. He even said he prepared a strategy for the third place match and then it was easy victory - meaning he didn´t prepare any before.

Yea, in an interview at GG.net, Oov said that, like other tournaments, he practiced 13 hours iirc. Although he probably didn't try as hard as if, say, it were an OSL, at least he put effort into preparing. :D

The gap is never going to get closer. Foriengers interests in practicing/playing BW is waning. This year, it seems a lot of players were not playing to get better, they were playing to shake the rust off.

The sky just is, and goes on and on; and we play all our BW games beneath it.

Koreans was not touchable, Midas was though.

However last year a korean was eleminated by a foreigner so it's nothing new at all. As long as they send 3 koreans one of them will win

I just watched a bit of Midas games... And yes his macro was running 3 or 4 digits... That would be really understandable if he was kept busy with some micro, but sometimes he wasnt even microing!
Watching the games of Midas vs July even made me think that he lost in purpose! (I know its a bit exagerated but still!)
Anyway, a couple of great game this year in WCG but the Koreans are really intouchables! For those who thought that foreigners had a great shot this year
Just look at how July made Phoenix look like a freaking noob (beating him with muta only...)!
GG everyong though!

hehe, every year people say that koreans are more touchable but every year, koreans take more wcg medals.

like some wise guy said

"you might not see the gap, but the gap is there and its fucking huge."

actually i believe thats true. they just treated this trip as a vacation and werent really trying.

Yeah Midas was kind of disappointing, especially during the group stage. He was playing sloppy, nothing close to some games we are used to watch when he plays OSL/MSL. And even that way he managed to claim the top3, and if it wasnt for July he would have taken top2(and if it wasnt for oov top1). Thats how huge the gap is. A top foreigner has a floppy streak of games and he is just out of the tournament. Midas plays sloppy, he still goes all the way up until SumoZerg crushes him.
I think our only hopes relay on Korea sending Mumyung(he...well...), firebathero(he just cant play the mid/late game) and some random amateur who manages to get a spot somehow(some PGT A+ korean)

Ha yeah, Draco could have won that game much easier with the interceptor upgrade.

Non of the foreigners looked in good nick expept for Testie/Draco/Lx.

Poor old Testie must have been crying after the game vs Midas on PA.

It's a bug in their script, but by playing around with the url ("16-1" => "16-2") you can still download them.
