This is the Crimson Starleague Invitational!
Background:
Based off of the Yellow Starleague, I wanted to make a similar league, but not entirely for C-rankers. Originally, I was intending on doing a D-ranks only invitational, but as Lmaster decided to impose his rules on strict D-rank only in DRIT, I figured I might as well go into everyone from D- to C.
Anyways, basically, I invited everyone who was considered to be too strong to play in D-ranks now, and everyone else similar, to play in a league with a motivation to win. (There will be monetary prizes.) I invited people from D-ranks to people I just wanted to come play. I was originally thinking about inviting someone like TechnicS to play off-race, but thought against it, because I still want the rest of us to have a chance of winning.
The format of the league will be MSL style. with 32 players being distributed among 8 groups, and two top players exiting the groups into the Round-of-16 while the two bottom players are eliminated.
Example:

RULES
1. Players are allowed to reschedule, but not past the deadline it is required to be played on. If postponements are absolutely necessary, then please PM me.
2. Players are not allowed to race-pick and are not allowed to change races during the tournament. Players that do not play with their original race must let me know BEFORE the league starts.
3. If players do not make contact with their opponents, PM me and I will make the decision regarding walkovers or rescheduling.
4. All games must be played with Anti-Hack and ChaosLauncher with LAN Latency.
5. If a player disconnects within 2 minutes of the start of a game, then the game must be replayed. If a player disconnects past the 2 minute mark, please contact me and show me the replay. I will make the decision regarding a regame, or whether a verdict will be made.

Yeah, I'm still thinking about maps. I might have to use Fighting Spirit just to please everybody, but I might be going through with maps like Gladiator, Chain Reaction, and other maps that were used at the end of Proleague/MSL/OSL.

Originally, I was going to have it just be D-rankers, which are red ranks, but as the restriction on DRIT was placed, I just figured the ranks should be extended to C-rankers too. I guess Minscandboo's idea of it being Orange Starleague makes sense, but Crimson sounds cooler ;D

As for the details of the tourney, the players will be revealed once 32 players have accepted the invite. There's still many I've PM'ed but haven't heard back from, so there's that, but I'm still open to inviting others. I can tell you right now that there's about 25 people that's accepted though.
The tourney will start in roughly a month or so, maybe a bit earlier.
I'm still thinking of maps. Again, I can't help but leave Fighting Spirit in there, since that's THE map that people just has to play on, but I also want to bring in newer maps that haven't been played in other leagues recently.
Prize pool will be revealed later on. Of course, if anyone wants to donate to the prize pool, shoot me a PM.

Well, that's why I'm leaving the poll up to the viewers/players. People have different opinions on which maps are ridiculous, and Requiem is just as ridiculous as the other maps in terms of concepts. Reverse ramps, invisible and neutral eggs, and awesome AI pathing. What more can you ask for in the maps?
Edit: But of course, if there's a serious and major complaint about a certain map, then I'll always take that into account.

I might take out more than one map, but I replace them with would be the similar map. An example would be if I take out Blue Storm, I would replace it with another 2-player map, possibly Overwatch, and if I take out Neo Requiem, I would replace it with something like Neo Ground Zero.
As for Triathlon, if that map is removed, it'd be replaced with something just as funky.

Lost Temple kind of set the template for the subsequent proleague maps, but when Blizzard designed the maps, I think they were trying to add a lot of randomness to make a 'realistic' battlefield. The modern maps look more like arenas than battlefields, but they work. They just fucking work.
Bluestorm is not a good map because the pathing is terrible, there are only 10 bases on the whole map, and the natural is nigh-on impossible to defend if you are Protoss, unless you make like 20 cannons, then it's safe.
Benzene is a cool map, but I don't think people give it a chance because they're unfamiliar with the map, and the map preview doesn't help much because everything looks a bunch of grey that all blends together. Still, it's a great map.
Most three-player maps are just bad. Aztec is okay, and Neomedusa are okay, but I don't like Tau Cross. I know Tau Cross isn't in the discussion or map pool, but it just makes me angry thinking about its very existence. At some point, someone will probably go "hEy gUyS, LeTs aDd tAu cRoSs 2 tHe MaP pOoL" and everyone should start throwing rocks at them immediately. Outsider is just garbage. Outlier is garbage. Longinus is garbage. Moonglaive is... okay I guess. And there's another one, but I can't even remember its name because it is such garbage.
For 4-player maps, there are so many good ones: New Sniper Ridge, Electric Circuit, Circuit Breaker, Grandline, Colosseum II, Ground Zero 2, Jade 2.0, and of course, Fighting fucking Spirit. It baffles me that people still pick maps like Andromeda and Python to be in map pools. Or Gaia. "Let's get really high and pick some old-school maps." they say. Some people even like Fortress,or EotS (either abbreviation).
For 2-player, why does nobody pick Bloody Ridge!? It's like "Well, we gotta pick Destination or Matchpoint... but those are overused, so let's use Oxide." And I apologize to the makers of Oxide for what I am about to say, but that map belongs in a trash dumpster. I cringe looking at the map preview of Oxide. Oxide makes me sick.

On 2player maps,I agree on the Blue Storm and Benezene analysis, Bloody Ridge is cool for me too, but a lot of people seem to complain about it. Oxide may look horrible in map preview but it's better to play on than Destination or BS!
With 3 player maps however Tau Cross is definitely better than Aztec or Medusa, in fact its better than most.
Outsider sucks, Outlier is okeh, Longinus is positionally imbalanced, Moonglaive.. okay.
So my suggestion holds, that we should try Freakling's 3p map.
4p maps, many to choose, no reason to stick to the same ones as before! EC is a fucking terrible map I don't understand why it's still popular, how can you hate on Andromeda and consider EC to be a good map? I think NGZ and Jade are both pretty meh as well, CB overused, colloseum is boredom fest. Grandline is pretty neat, although I'm not a fan of desert tileset. Again, most 4p maps are the "standard" maps so at least choosing not-fs is already more interesting, and there is still very standard maps available. Check out tempest and why would u complain of it?

Ideally, we can get groups sorted out by next Saturday, or even this upcoming Saturday, if we get two more people to accept the invite. That way, players can get their games played ASAP and we can know who is/isn't available to play from those who can't be contacted.

- Blue Storm will be replaced with Overwatch.
- Triathlon will be replaced with Incidence.
- Neo Requiem will be replaced with Neo Ground Zero
The unfortunate case is that I can't please everyone with maps. If the league lasted forever, then I would happily include every single map in existence from Paradoxx to DMZ to Python to Oxide to Pathfinder, but I can't. :[

Neo Ground Zero is probably the most boring map that doesn't feature some significant imbalances...
Honestly, every other map mentioned here offers much more interesting gameplay than Neo GZ:
For 4-player maps, there are so many good ones: New Sniper Ridge, Electric Circuit, Circuit Breaker, Grandline, Colosseum II, Ground Zero 2, Jade 2.0, and of course, Fighting fucking Spirit.
Also, can every unit pass through the main entrances of Incidence or only small ones like on 815?

Although MVP is one of the better players of the pool, I don't think he's a shoo-in for a win. He might as well be C+/B-, but players like TelecoM, jacklinks, ninazerg, sabas, EleGant, and a couple others I can't remember, at least I feel, are capable of beating MVP if it came down to a best-of series.
I'm gonna go ahead and make a prediction myself... A D+/C- player makes it to the Ro4.

From what I've been hearing from people I've asked, most players seem to be content with playing on the designated time. My problem with everyone playing on the designated time is in the case that one player doesn't show up, it just causes a hassle and forces either a replacement or a walkover, which is something I don't want to happen.
However, I invited most of the players because I know they're committed and willing to get their games done when they can.

Unfortunately, I had to finish school work after casting Group C. For some reason, I didn't anticipate a group lasting roughly around 2 hours so I underestimated the time I would need to finish all the casts.

Can somebody tell me once and for all what race MVP is? That isn't possible. He changes races faster than a chameleon does colors. If RedAxis locked races for this tour, then MVP is locked in protoss...if not, then I have no idea what you need to be prepared for.
I did lock races, so MVP is playing Protoss.
