Welcome to the C Ranks Teamleague Season 2! This season will be similar in format to the previous season but with some changes such as no B- players, 6 larger and hopefully more active teams instead of 8 smaller ones, a 10 week season followed by single-elim playoffs, and slightly more modest prizes.
The season is split up into two 5-week round-robin rounds, and each will feature a different map pool and include a community made map.
Free agents from the signup thread were drafted into 1 of 3 teams: US Easy, The Smurfs, and Team 6. Check which team you are on and contact your captain immediately!

FORMAT
League Format
All teams play 1 match per week. There are 6 teams in the league and each team plays every other team twice making the regular season last 10 weeks. The top 4 teams will move on to the playoffs which will be a single elimination, 1st seed vs 4th seed, 3rd seed vs 2nd seed the first week. Then the grand finals and 3rd place match the following week.
Match Format
Best of 5, no ace match. Each set is a best of 1 on a predetermined map. Captains must submit the lineups (and previous week's replays) by Tuesday night/Wednesday morning 24:00 EDT / 6:00 CEST /13:00 KST. Lineups will be posted the following day. All sets need to be played and count towards the set score which will act as the first tiebreaker in the standings.
Time and Date
Games will be played on Sundays at 14:00 EDT / 20:00 CEST / 3:00 KST. Rescheduling is allowed if both players agree to it but games must be played before the replay/lineup submission deadline. League begins on September 29th.
PRIZES
Players will receive points during the regular season as follows.
+2 points per win
+1 point per loss
-2 points per forfeit loss
-1 point per day for captain for late replay/lineup submission
Winning Team
The winning team's players will receive the following prizes.
2-5 points - 1 month TL+
6-9 points - 2 months TL+
10-13 points - 6 months TL+ (or $15)
14+ points - 1 year TL+ (or $25)
Non-Winning Teams
Also, we'll have a couple of prizes for the rest of the players.
MVP (most points): 6 months TL+ (or $15)
Best Effort (most games played, not MVP): 2 months TL+
If there is a tie, a winner will be decided by a random draw.
RULES

1. Replays: Winning team captain submits replay pack to cranksteamleague@gmail.com. Replays must be titled "Set#_Player1_Player2". Also, indicate the result of each set in the email. Replays must be submitted before 24:00 EDT / 6:00 CEST /13:00 KST on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.
2. Lineups: Captains must PM me the lineups including the players' races and map before Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning 24:00 EDT / 6:00 CEST /17:00 KST.
3. Rescheduling: Rescheduling is allowed if both players agree to it, but no later than the replay deadline. Players that need to PP can PM their opponents using their TL ID (listed under the TEAMS section). Opponents must respond to a PM asking for a PP within 48 hours and must make a good effort to reschedule. Simply taking walkovers without a legitimate reason will not be accepted.
4. No Shows: 20 minutes grace for no shows (by 14:20 EDT / 20:20 CEST / 3:20 KST). If there's a no show players must submit screenshots with timestamp using the /time command in ICCup.
5. Substitutions: Teams will be allowed up to 4 substitutions in the event of a no show for the regular season and 0 for the playoffs. If the sub is not made at least 1 hour before the match and communicated to the opposing team and PMed to an admin, a sub is still allowed but the subbed out player will receive a forfeit loss penalty towards his point score. After using the 4 subs any no shows are automatically forfeit loses. The subbed in player can't be one of the players already playing a game that week and must be subbed in before the 20min grace period is up. Substitutes must play the same race as the player they are replacing. The sub doesn't have to play their normal race, they can offrace to meet this rule.
6. Server: All games played on ICCup with LAN latency on unless agreed to by both players. Anti-hack is a must. Players can meet in the op CRTL channel.
7. Race Changes: Race changes are allowed between weeks in the regular season but not the playoffs. PM me before lineup submission date to change your race.
8. No BM in-game or out will be tolerated.
9. You must play on the ID you registered with.
10. Players that are promoted to B- or higher during the season will be allowed to continue playing for the remainder of the season.
11. New players can sign-up during the season up before round 2 begins (week 6). Player transfers are also allowed before round 2 as long as players are transfered to weaker or less active teams and both teams and the admins agree to it.
12. No cheating, smurfing etc. ICCup rules apply.

Wouldn't it be better if substitutions could be made last minute?
Often enough players that are not able to show up at the default time, will not (be able to) communicate their absence just a few hours before game time. The teams would notice a missing player only when he actually does not show up on time.
Maybe, the waiting time of 30 minutes should be reduced, too.

The rules do allow for last minute subs, its just that the subbed out player will still be penalized in points unless its communicated ahead of time. Maybe that wasn't clear so ive changed the wording a bit.
edit: also changed the grace period back to 20min like previous season.

Sero hit B- after signing up. I was just copy-pasting what I had, I changed it to C+. He's allowed to participate this season but it will be his last. Not long ago he was like C level and I played him a few times then so I'm inclined to believe his improvement is recent. And he went 4-5 last season.
inf3cted isnt doing anything other than submitting lineups and replays. He's still banned from playing but tbh i dont have a good answer for you in this case. It might be better to give captainship to one of the players after the team has coalesced.

i dont see the problem with b- since c+ can take a game or two off of b- iccup is a horrible judgement of skill since people are either horrible or they are some what decent and lancerx has been the same rank since the beginning of iccup hes like a robot i've watched him lose to draws zerg like 5-0 when draws zerg was like c/c+ level and fold is around c/c+ level isnt he? and inf3cted is just the captain hes not playing i dont see the point in kicking people out of a community for one stupid decision.

Given that he isn't actually a player that would be normally involved or playing in the league, what action could they take? Unless he got like a TL ban or something of the sort.

Why do I need to be a participant to question the integrity of the league? I am a spectator and I would like to make sure the participants will be playing in a fair league. And I'm sure I was not the only one with the same questions.
L3gendary is hosting this league of a certain skill cap to provide fun to these players just like the D Ranks Team League. If a player is already past the skill cut-off, the enjoyment of the league is lost to the other participants, thus the league loses its purpose.
Anyhow L3gendary quickly replied to the questions and clarified the situation that needed to be resolved before the league kicked off.
Concerning Inf3cted, he cheated not too long ago, screwed his team and wasted their time, never apologized, and still denies it. What could stop him from doing it again? It's not easy to catch a cheater in Brood war. Now L3gendary and his staff have to do double the work to keep an eye out for him and we will always question if his team is legitimately winning.

i don't understand why infected is in this leauge after being caught cheating, even not playing. if its only about sending in replays and submiting line ups then what does he really add to the team in the first place. but if somebody really wanted to cheat it doesn't really matter being in the team or not, so I personally don't have problems with it.
and i think the rules should change to "no b- are allowed at the moment of SIGNUP"
that should fix quite alot

Hi all.Yes i was playing under the name KiroMastikata in the last season of this league.All my games were reversed as a punishment.(Аlthough i played protoss , and zerg vs the players who wasn`t C+ max rank , cryoc and TEH ) I regret my decision to play , even tho there wasn`t any tournament at that moment , and i was inactive more then 2 moths.I`m sorry for that.Ofc. if u don`t want me to be any kind involve in this league , ill talk whit the team and we gonna decide a new leader.

Anyhow L3gendary quickly replied to the questions and clarified the situation that needed to be resolved before the league kicked off. Concerning Inf3cted, he cheated not too long ago, screwed his team and wasted their time, never apologized, and still denies it. What could stop him from doing it again? It's not easy to catch a cheater in Brood war. Now L3gendary and his staff have to do double the work to keep an eye out for him and we will always question if his team is legitimately winning.

Although one is enough, other than Sero, there's no other legitimate max B- players in the league. We definitely tried to correct some mistakes made in the first CRTL by not allowing B- players to join, and technically, we have done that.
Sero reached B- after he had signed up, and other than him, there's no one else. As to answer your qualities of Sero, other players have high EAPM as well, and strong macro skills. Maybe his decision-making is what puts him above the peak of C+.
Regardless, he won't be eligible to play in the next season of CRTL.

I've played quite a few times with Sero and while he is an excellent player, I don't think he's above and beyond this league and certainly the competition.

It's not like he has a losing record on any of his accounts. All his C+ accounts he can hit B- and probably B on, but in reality I don't think it matters and I don't have a problem with him playing.

Sero is not B lol. Subjective perception of skill is irrelevant. He has gotten better, for sure, but I can assure you that from my games against him it's clearly been a recent development. He was losing games to me regularly at the beginning of this year, and now he beat me quite a few in a row.

Sero isn't actually blue rank, he just bought it from the iCCup store, so he should def. be allowed to play IMO.

Guys, eapm is helpful, but it may be not relevant to level of play. I have as terran at least 160 eapm and still, because of lacks in other factores, I have nowadays really big problems in making C+ with ratio above 60%. And also i can point out few players, who reach A-, and have maximum 100 eapm.

I have 130-160 eapm and I am C- on a good day. Rlentless has 200 eapm and is C- on a good day. APM or EAPM borderlines on irrelevancy when discussing skill. Why even mention it?

Even if you transfer stats, it'll still show your record. It won't simply just change your rank to C+ at 0-0.
If he won a tourney, wouldn't that simply disprove your point about reaching B- multiple times?

Your supposed "facts"?
1) Players tend to stop playing after they reach a certain rank just to keep that rank and not risk losing and lose their rank. Things like that range all the way from A-rank to D-rank.
2) Facts, but hardly anything people didn't know.
3) That's an opinion. It's simply someone's input, which makes it an opinion. As for his skill level, I'm pretty sure we're all one to choose for ourselves, and we think he's eligible to play, at least for the time being.
4) If I played in an extremely competitive league, I wouldn't want people looking off of my videos to see how I play and make strategies around me, especially in a league where the skill gap isn't exactly huge.
5) You not being able to beat him does not make him B-rank. I guess since Lmaster's beaten Bakuryu, he's A-rank? Player A > Player B > Player C doesn't make Player A > Player C.
6) I'm assuming you're referring to EAPM, which again, makes no valid argument. Me, a maximum C- player has reached 170 EAPM in a 30+ minute game. As it has been debated before, APM/EAPM does not correlate with skill.
7) Where are the other players that think so and why haven't they spoken out? Would you like us to set up a poll to see whether players would mind Sero playing or not?
Sero has many friends on Teamliquid? I didn't even know Sero had friends... Regardless, I'm pretty sure we've stated before that he was C+ when he signed up and it was pointless to kick him out in the middle of the season just for reaching B-. I haven't heard from any of the players about motivation to win going downhill just because of Sero. If that's how YOU feel, I'm sorry, but in trying to make YOU feel better, I can't kick out another and deprive him of playing.
When did we not allow anyone "weaker" to play? We have a ceiling, but we have no limit in terms of ground. Anyone from E to C+ can play, and we've yet to deny anyone in those actual range.
Again, I haven't heard anything that's a valid reason as to why he shouldn't play, other than you claiming that other people said he was good, he has high EAPM, and his multiple accounts of C+/B-. We've said it before, he won't be playing after this season. If he proves to be absolutely unstoppable in CRTL and goes on a massive rampage in going undefeated every single week, then we'll make a decision halfway through the season, but unless that happens, he's playing in CRTL2.

We played a grudge match a while back when I was D-, the macro game we played I won without difficulty, and he could only beat me by doing 9/9 gate twice, which at the time I didn't know how to beat. He's not very good.

No problem, it's in your settings, under tab 'Videos'. It's called 'Automatically archive my broadcasts'. Remember that after broadcast you will need to open recorded video, and using it's settings click on Save Forever function. Without it, videos will be deleted from server after some time ( I don't remember exactly, maybe month or 2 weeks).

Because race picking is only an issue when you allow more than 1 mirror. This is the rule from last season but I didn't make the sign-up thread this season so I couldn't enforce it. I don't like the idea of race picking at all but allowing players to dodge the mirror at least makes it more entertaining. 2 players playing their offrace would just make it a joke.

I think it is a joke giving the advantage to one player, letting him play his mainrace, while enforcing the other to play his offrace. what are you talking about. he is allowing race picking. he just said that if there is a conflict, the player with more mirror matchups has to change. its understandable i think.
edit: as an additional rule though i would say if someone is only picking the "easy" matchups (pvt, zvp, tvz) and there is a conflict, than they should change.

Fairest solution would be a (Player X) T vs Z (Player Y), where both players are forced to play their offrace. And still player X has a small advantage, as he intended to play TvZ, while Player Y has a complete offrace. But this is fairer than forcing PvZ anyways, imho.

All this race picking argument is a joke. Stop being pussies and pick 1 race. When you decide to be a race picker, you subject yourself to whatever race picking conflict rules are in place.

sorry man but thats wrong again. you said it: "this matchup constellation is actually his mainrace" so if you force a T v Z in this situation than you still let X to play his picked main race while Y has to play his totall offrace, as an original P player he probably knows the less of the other two races' matchups (zvt).
btw maybe legendary did but i never said they should exactly play pvz, they can, or they can play tvz, its up to them i think, its just that one of them has to change race and it should be Y. but probably all Y player will decide to play PvZ here instead of a ZvT...

yea you can make jokes but theres this problem of conflict with race picking, thats why its not allowed by kespa. and if you allow it you must make well thought-out rules of conflicts as well.

What makes you think player Y has any experience with ZvT? This would be a huge advantage for player X who is prepared for TvZ already. Forcing player X to TvZ isn't forcing him to offrace because that's the race he picked...And I didn't mean to say that sky would need to PvZ, he can ZvT I suppose but I would assume he'd rather PvZ since he's originally a protoss player. Bottom line is that he'd have to choose a matchup that works for the other player.

My apologies for not showing on sunday. Didn't realize I was on the line-up for week 10. In fact, I wasn't even supposed to participate in this tournament like, at all.. it was mr. Inf3cted who signed me in without telling. To tell the truth, besides the scheduled CRTL games I wasn't even able to touch Brood War during those weeks. :\

I will cast week 9 as soon as I get rid of this cold then the day after I will cast Week 10 then the playoffs will be casted 2 days later for first round of the playoffs. Then the next day I will do the 3rd place match. The next day I will cast the finals unless someone else wants to.

The results for 3 of the USez vs team 6 were posted in OP and I would bet that the 2 with no result will never get played.

Update!
Finally got all the reps together, at least for the finals games. 3rd place match is still unresolved. Hopefully the finals will be cast soon. In the meantime I would like to gauge interest for a season 3! Which individuals or teams would be interested? And what kind of league format would you like to see?
