webcam that shit. IF severing is involved. Or in Mora's case you decide to dance naked.

Personally, I'd rather have a Pusan vs. iloveOOv round 7 eat your heart out macro war with arbiters and science vessels

BTW. Just an aside. I always though Sea was a cute little kid that plays good starcraft. But after watching several OGN live shows regarding the proleague leading up to the final IMO (based on what I've seen three shows or so) he's more like an obnoxious little prick with no respect. Maybe I'm just old fashioned :/ . For example.. anybody your age or younger you can call "너" that's "you". If you are a guy, any older guy would be called "형" girl would be "누나" (if you're female it would be "오빠" "언니" respectively). In one of the shows he shouts at Pusan 너는 박지호다 (you are Pusan). I guess it was a shout of encouragement, but if anybody five years younger (sea was born in 1990, pusan in 1985) than me called me "너" I'd be pissed. This might not seem like a big deal if you're not korean, but it's a big deal here. I've seen fights and beatings break out back in middle school because of incorrectly used terminology .. and we're talking about 1 or 2 years here. There was another instance during the game vs CJ where Jy was beating some MBC player and somebody on the MBC bench said "야 장육 잘하네" (Hey, Jy plays well) .. Sea responds " 걔 원래 잘해" (he's good). The comment itself seems innocent, but his use of "걔" is a bit annoying. Like "너" "걔" is used to refer to a 3rd person, but only somebody who is your age or younger. Jy is 2 years older than Sea and there is really no way he didn't know that. I guess we can look over this since it was supposed to be a private conversation anyway. I can't think of anymore specific instances, but the general impression I got, from his speech and actions is that the fame and his skills have gotten a bit to his head. I don't expect him to be humble, but sometimes there are boundaries, especially in a korean society.
or maybe I'm just old (compared to these programers anyway) and forgot what it was like being in middle school. I just know that, 10 years ago, talking like he does now, a couple of older kids would've beaten the shit out of me.
err.. btw I hope it doesn't look like I'm saying OMG SEA BOW DOWN BEFORE YOUR ELDERS, he can do what he wants I guess if nobody around him complains, but it just struck me that the image I had of him as a quiet kid with good SC skills.. was completely off track.
anyway .. uh go go MBC. SK has won enough already.

I don't like Sea[Shield] either, but in a different way. like, lol who uses M&M in TvT?

2essare: you dont leave a better impression yourself i must say. Youre nitpicking too much into it. In Russia it is the same way, you use different words to adress people who are older and people who are equals. 5 years is nothing. I would feel rather weird if a 15 year old guy would call me "Sir." If he refers to the manager the same disrespectful way, now thats a different story.
|
^ in korean society age is a huge deal. It's really funny looking at it from the outside how people can get upset at how you address them if they are even a year older than you, whereas people here don't even have respect for the elderly. I think sea knows how it makes him look to talk like that and he probably feels like a little bad ass as a result
boxer used m%m against oov in the whatever osl finals it was. ever 2 or iops

If he refers to the manager the same disrespectful way, now thats a different story. If you're not korean you won't understand. Just because our languages have similarities you can not say that "it is the same" when the contexts and cultures are entirely different. I can see why you think this is weird, or that I'm nitpicking. This is different from calling somebody "sir". In korea, one or two years can be a big thing. Hell people always go on about whether or not somebody is "빠른 83" or something. (In korea school starts in February, so if you're born early in the year you will go to school with kids a year older). Maybe I am nitpicking a bit.. I don't really mind too much, I'm just a bit surprised because the image I had of him (as a quiet, humble kid) turned out to be completely wrong.
btw what do you mean that I don't leave a better impression myself?

Well, if you guys watched how Sea used them, it's very ineffective... It's almost irritating to watch -.- (I think it was Sea[Shield] vs. Light[Alive] in Rush Hour 3).
|
i like it. spices up progaming.
ATLEAST SOMEONE IN PROGAMING HAS SOME PERSONALITY.
damn stony faces.
|
Actually I agree, these "about xxx league" shows and the "real life-progamers" series (where they visit gaming teams) depict the gamers as they are in person, and I think its a great thing. It gives them some personality insteadof the stonefaces you see when they are playing. Like I've said before I was surprised because I though Sea would be quiet and humble, when he is in fact, loud and at times a tad obnoxious. (I guess I can't use the 3 or 4 shows I saw to accurately call him anything.. but at least its consistent in the shows) This isn't necessarily a bad thing - I gave those examples so that you could see why, in a korean society, his actions would be considered a bit disrespectful. Anyway.. moving on the game.. MBC 화이팅

I really hope MBC brings out bisu in a 1on1 game for once...he has the potential to beat pretty much everyone on the SKT1 roster (not to say that he's better than everyone on the SKT1 roster, but he can surely compete with them as good as anyone on the MBC team).
