From what I've seen/heard, most people played at least the first 2 matches, and put off the rest for later because they want to practice for the winners/losers match specifically. | ||

In the case that a player in a group doesn't show up on Saturday, then ideally, a player on the wait-list that is the same race as the player they are replacing should be priority, not the next person that is waiting on the wait-list, as it is unfair that one expected to play and practiced a specific matchup to begin with. Just using myself as an example in Group D, arb would be practicing a TvT, but if I were to not show up, and the next player on the wait-list replaces me, it would be a Protoss, which would mean a different matchup altogether for arb, which is unfair. I just thought that should be brought to attention. Not something big, but possibly a difference maker in the group stages. Of course, if a specific race isn't available for replacing a player, then it should go to whoever is next on the wait-list that shows up on Saturday... | ||

I think this is a good issue to bring up, and I'd offer a possible suggestion. I'm not sure if all groups have been in touch with each other, but assuming some have, we could at least get a guess which groups are missing which player(race). Then already preliminarily assign wait-listed players to the groups. This way the waitlist people still have a day or two to prepare for matchups as well and this would be advantageous in assuring that wait-listed people actually show up. At the moment I'd be more worried about neither the actual or the wait-list players showing up as well as this whole thing turning into a long fiasco on Saturday when the rest of us would like to go out and enjoy the evening/day. So I'd start off saying, Group F - Missing Gorg (Protoss) , so we would like a Protoss replacement and everyone who's had contact with their groups could do the same to get someone setup from the waitlist. | ||
