The two legends playing in the featured matches need no introduction, but here's one anyways:
Anytime, one of the few royal roaders and a legend among all the protoss players who have ever played the game.
Nada, one of the best players to have ever played the game, with 6 individual championships to his name. The first winner of the Golden Mouse.
But both players have been away from the game for some time. It's hard to say whom will have the advantage. But with Nada only recently retiring from progaming (despite it being that other game), and the depth of his strength, I'll predict that he will emerge victorious.
However, since Ongamenet is concerned that fans who watch the match will have their minds blown and be left unable to function for the rest of the day, they've kindly provided a special Bo5 afterwards for the audience to be brought back down to earth, where Fantasy will school soo.
(p.s. why can't I center the spoiler for aesthetics then uncenter the contents inside?)
Keen for this literally been looking forward to this match for the last 3 weeks Watching Nada play Bw live after only ever getting to see VODS should be a real treat and soo should put up a great fight
Riots will erupt in Seoul if Fantasy doesn't beat Soo.
Also the legend match is super depressing considering it will be Nada's last ever public appearance as a professional gamer. Unfortunately for him, Anytime is probably the most in-shape out of the legends (he plays and streams on Afreeca). As an added bonus though for Nada though, the map they will be playing on is Tau Cross, so, shit could magically happen.
I am pretty sure Anytime is gonna crush Nada since anytime is stil quite active in the korean amateur scene and to my knowledge nada has been playin sc2 which basically means inactivity. But maybe he can suprise him with an all in should be a nice game nevertheless. Osl is gonna be decided between the winner of Jangbi/Zero and fantasy since fantasy has with soo basically a walkover and a too much sc2 playing eg pretty sloppy playin flash no real competition on his side of the bracket. hope for jangbi though
On July 03 2012 15:20 N.geNuity wrote: poor soo. it must be tough to know you'll be raped. SKT fans have no respect for you even though you play for their team.
Nada vs. Anytime. FUCK YEAH. There's no amount of awesome that can properly describe this. Out of the retired legends, these two are quite possibly in the best form (though Nada played that other thing a lot and may be rusty on the REAL game).
fantasy always wins in team-kill scenarios. His TvZ is kind of funky, but let's admit it: any SKT zerg (not including HyuK, the pinnacle of awesome) is cannon fodder.
Anything but a one sided stomping will be bizarre. Because let's admit it, Shine had the right idea vs. a superior player: go for insane aggression and unconventional play and hope you get lucky. While fantasy's TvZ is by no means Flash level "this shit is broken yo" good, he's arguably the strongest management player out there, so anything reaching the midgame will end up with the inevitable destruction of anything but a top notch macro Zerg... which no SKT zerg is.
Everytime a proteam walks by me i get all warm and fuzzy inside. Looking forward to these matches alot just saw Nada walk in here looking awesome as ever. Anytime looking good aswell, but Nada llooked like he was ready to give his fans one last match of awesome. In tge fantasy vs soo match fantast is gonna take it I believe but soo might surprise everyone tonight
Can't wait to see Nada getting raped by Anytime. And Fantasy should win this match, hopefully it's gonna be interesting. This is the only Ro8 match I'm able to watch(damn you work), so it better be good :/
Hm, the [OSL] tag is missing in the title, isn't it?

not really, he just knew weird ass timings that caught jaedong off-guard
And the maps were gay as hell. A bit more seriously though, the game on Colloseum is Forgg's masterpiece, great execution and very smart reaction to what Jaedong had prepared, completely unexpected from the mindless macroer and two-facter that was forgg. Got to give him credit. Here I don't expect much from soO, and even less from NaDa
Just talled to Nada's old manager. he was both sad and excited for todays match incoming flowers from him to Nada. No sign from me this match, they let me watch from side area with the crew due to lack of space in the rest of the room

Nada's forces moving close to anytime's nat, but he still has a deep, thin line - a strong one
but a templar gets up close and storms!
a few tanks by frozen units are getting cleaned up - Anytime now finally with a small supply advantage again...Nada leapfrogging forces forwards? no, he heads back, not going to try to save his frozen forces
A small attack on Nada's 4th, he has to flee because he has no forces nearby... still in a tight spot, Anytime re-maxing relatively slowly, but Nada is poor
oops, 2 goons walk into a minefield, and nothing walks out
mass vulture raid on Anytime's freshly established 7th at 12, pure vulture takes down the cannons....anytime attacking with a pretty small force vs Nada's really wide tank line not a good attack if you ask me...

It's a part of the BW history now. Every sport that matters has some match fixing scandal.
What I don't get is why they are using all those sentimental moments and collages. Because to me they are only a reminder of how good BW was(and still is) and all the great moments that came to past...contrasting with the crap that's comming. I think it will only hurt their(OGN) position.
I doubt Fantasy will be able to concentrate on the game. He has the cute booth girl. Can't concentrate with that. Soo will win first game. Same thing happened with Flash vs Shine. Shine lost due to having the cute girl in the booth in other words. breaking his concentration :D

And I really can't begrudge OGN trying its best to promote its business. I'm not going to like it though.

You know it's the last OSL ever: if Fantasy loses a teamkill if we're going to see a Bo5 of the 2 last terran heroes if there's a sequel to the epic Fantasy vs Jangbi; or if Flash defeats the 2 finalists of the previous season to break the records.

Maybe... The emphasis is actually on mines first so that the zerg can't do anything (and mass turrets at expos to limit the strength of drops), the tanks come later I do wish we had more of an opportunity to see some of the woongjin zergs take a crack at this style of play.

ALternatively, you can do a Calm and use hydras (you need the den for lurkers anyway), mass them and atack head on into a tight choke where all the mech is gonna be. Since you will be able to find all the tanks. the battle surely will go in your favour :D

Continuing to produce lings would have won, methinks, but it's a difficult choice to make since soo had only 2 hatcheries' worth of larva but with fantasy's walls getting broken and no vulture speed (or even machine shop) that could have done it

It's bugging me because I have seen quite a lot of terrans die to zerglings because they refused to make wallins.
So I was just wondering what I have missed that makes wallins bad.

Haha why are you so bugged about it? I personally avoid walling in because not just that I'm losing mining time in the very early game, but the depots also makes going in or out of the base harder in case of drops or just pumping stuff like tanks.
It's bugging me because I have seen quite a lot of terrans die to zerglings because they refused to make wallins.

In the mid/late game you have a depot standing there at your ramp, mindfucking the shit out of the AI, when you are producing from a lot of structures
For a last OSL we have pretty good finish I think. Of course people would have prefered Fantasy, Flash, Bisu, Jaedong, Stork a combination of those players to be there, but this is too unrealistic anyway. However, now we have all 3 races + an epic semi FvF fighting for the Terran throne + perhaps top 3 zerg for the last couple of years vs top 3 protoss for the last couple of years fighting who will challenge terran dominion in the finals + guranteed non mirror final. More or less we have everything there

Yeah. First of all, we have Fantasy and Flash. And Jangbi and Zero are top tier, too.
I said it already, but it cannot be overstated enough!
THANK YOU FOR THE PRO LR ZONA! I hope you will be there for us for the rest of the OSL (FvF and finals especially). Also thanks for the awesome banner, Hyde. Hyde banna best banna!
(Vote): Jangbi vs Fantasy (Vote): Flash vs Zero (Vote): Jangbi vs Flash (Vote): Zero vs Fantasy
The best final is obviously JvF (either Flash or Fantasy, no preference here) due to the fact that ZerO just can't seem to perform up to par vs either of the two....
In this season of SK Proleague alone, Fantasy is now on a 4-0 winning streak against ZerO, whereas Flash is 7-4 against ZerO all time...
ZerO has indeed shown S-class in his play, but as displayed in the ABC Mart MSL Finals, his performance does worry me versus the best of the best. :/ This is mainly the reason why I want JangBi to win. He beat Fantasy in JinAir and recently Flash in the group stages. My biggest concern for JangBi is that PvZ is going to be very difficult vs ZerO...T_T
I do think it would be nice to see either fanta win his second gold and end his BW career with a bang or Flash acquiring the his fourth OSL and finally break NaDa's all time record of six individual league titles.
At this point, I do not care who wins - all players in the semifinals are competent so all I request is that good games be shown in this last Starcraft tournament that actually matters.
Is there any way or place where one could watch the ceremony with NaDa and AnyTime before and after their Legends Match at OSL Ro8? The youtube channel esports.tv only has the actual match, not the interviews and NaDa presented with flowers from many other well-known players. Did anyone re-stream it?
Maybe this will be my first BW match I watch live Can't wait for FvF! The biggest nerd chills I have ever had is when Flash stepped onto the stage after Fantasy came on in the SPL 10-11 finals.
And the most pissed off I've been after watching a game, coincidently, is that game I was rooting for Flash
as much as I like Fantasy and think he's gonna go down as one of the best Terrans of all time... it needs to be JangBi vs Flash... back to back titles for Protoss since GARIMTO vs 4 BW OSL titles
Hahahaha and Fantasy consumes another of his teammates in the typical cannibalistic ritual he always does. FvF! I don't know if I'll be able to watch it though D:
Oh and Nada... You will never be forgotten as one of the greatest Terrans of all time, Lee Yoon Yeol. T___T I'll always remember your epic games back in your heyday.

meh.. I always wondered, why people get so exited for some stupid numbers.
Fantasy and Zero, because they are my favorite terran and zerg (both for creativity and "unusualness" in playstyle).

Told ya. Fantasy is raping this season, he plays an extremely high lvl broodwar. His strategical dismantling of Zero in SPL is also a testimony of his current shape. He deserves to win it all or at least go out with a bang against Flash or Jangbi in the finals.

He didn't "win this OSL", he merely beat his team mate Soo which was kind of expected anyway. The real challenge for him lies in the Round of 4 against Flash.

Um. He's saying he predicted fantasy to win the OSL, but implies that he's surprised SoO didn't put up a better fight along fantasy's path to the title. He doesn't think fantasy just won the OSL... So snide.
:/
Holy hell on earth, Soo control and rally points basically cost him any chance of winning a game. Would have liked to see a valk though!

I'm sure a lot of their teammates would rather spend their time preparing for the future (which is unfortunately SC2).
I really wonder how the remaining OSL players practice.
For ro8 it was something like this/
JangBi Jangbi: "Hey, Brave, you will help me practice BW PvP. Problems?"
ZerO Zero: "I'm better then you!" Soulkey: "You kidding, right?" Zero: "You will never become better then me if you can't win in.... bo101!" Soulkey: "prepare yourself then, bo101 starting now!" Zero to himself: mission accomplished
Flash Flash: "Hey coach I need some BW zerg to rape" Coach Lee: "Of course, your Godness. Would you like younger one with pretty face?" Flash: "What? No! I need zerg for practice!" Coach Lee: "Oh, sorry for misunderstanding, please show your mercy", to ktzergs: "hey slaves, stop doing whats your doing and play vs Flash, or no food for you!"
Fantasy s2: "hey Fanta, need a practice partner?" Fantasy: "What practice? I have Soo in ro8" s2: "he is right behind you" Fantasy: "shit, I guess I need to play a couple of games, pretending preparing, or kid will feel bad otherwise"

Chuckled at Flash, then LOLed at Fantasy. I'm not sure how Fanta's gonna prepare though, KT has LOLMind for Flash to beat up on.

Flash vs Fantasy will obviously be the most contested/competitive match, and I'm sort of hoping for a Fantasy vs Jangbi final. Could be the start of another rivalry.
Meanwhile, Zero is the most erratic zerg ever and I highly doubt anything exciting will result from him being in a final. Zero always falls under pressure.
