Flash looks better at SC2 than most SC2 pros, already. It's been forever since I've been impressed by SC2 micro. I'm shocked at how rapidly he's been improving. I thought the SC2 OSL would be an embarrassment with SPL players playing....like they have been, and no KeSPA players qualifying.
At the rate Flash is improving, I think he could win the last BW OSL and the first SC2 OSL back-to-back. He's already outclassing all the other KeSPA players

Qualifiers for OS2L are next month. It'll be interesting to see how many BW pros make it in.
Stars now far ahead of everyone. Still annoyed by their cheese wins today, though I don't know why I still care about this season. SKT vs KT on 6/18. Let's see if it goes beyond 20 pages of LR.

I guess that pretty much summarises the state of proleague.
Can't really blame people though.
The state of bw games have declined due to excessive practice for sc2. Potential awesome games turn out to be average and potential average games turn out to be mediocre.
And I've become far to spoiled by all the fabulous games I've watched for bw throughout the years. Watching sc2 just doesn't do it for me. I've watched GSL/NASL etc etc...its just sooo......boring to me..

Having to endure this Hybrid shit for another 3 months pains me. I wish KeSPA would just fully switch to SC2 mid-way through Proleague after OSL finishes.
5 pages... wow... and I would start watching SC2 maybe if they changed the language back to English, but I can't stand the Korean versions of the units... Make my head hurt soo much

As much as it pains me (I'd rather just see full on BW) I have to agree. This is hurting the players and giving BW a bad send off instead of the epicness that could have been.

They really should, i enjoy watching BW and SC2. But this format is just terrible for the viewer, the games are terrible and having 2 games mixed together is just not fun to watch >_>

There is no doubt in my mind that the teams aren't practicing BW anymore beyond simple match preparation. The team to win this proleague will be the best SC2 team. The present and the future is SC2. The full switch is already here, just has a BW pre-game show.
7/28 is the last day of real bw in my mind. And almost none of this season has even come close.
this proleague has been a joke. some games have been decent, but I just watched the vods now (admit I watched the mlg stuff after skt ended) but 2 cheeses in a row in bw sets.
Wish they would just swap fully over, all the bw games have been really bad and on the flipside its just hurting them from progressing in sc2... lose lose situation np
Well... now I can honestly point out There were times when I woke up at 4 am to watch PL. Now I don't even know the schedule anymore. SC2 knocked BW out
idk how many people watched the mlg kespa games, but they're improving ridiculously fast. I think it's clear at this point they're practicing full or almost full time sc2. This hybrid league is killin everyone.
Best scenario is that they switch to full sc2 mid season and hope for more viewers. This hybrid is a complete debacle
osl attendance are still high and basing on that it seriously has got something to do with sc2 / bw in proleague that is deterring people from coming to watch the game .
Is it me or there seems to be approximately less than 20 peeps in the audience. Hopefully its just me because by the looks of it, SK is losing interest in BW.

not losing interest in BW per se, just losing interest in horrible games every week.
Well, from my experience 3 weeks ago, the seats during the OSL gets filled up pretty nicely with a lot of people standing up behind, while only about 40% of the seats during the PL gets occupied.

To be fair, with the best players "Two blobs collide, and then the game ends" style of games occur less and less frequently now, with the one notable exception of certain protoss two and three base pushes (and all-ins, of course).

All my friends keeps urging me to make the switch to LoL. I would like to say that around 60% of my gamer friends are into MOBAs, 20% are into those FB tetris competition, 15% are into FPS, 5% are into MMOs. So it is a temptation. What is funny is that exactly a year ago, 70% were hooked in SC2. Now barely anyone even mention the game anymore while I have been asked "How is Brood War going for you?"
In a sense though LoL promotes a sense of teamwork spirit that RTS games don't offer. The game can be extremely addicting to skype around while playing and chating with my pals. Despite of that, I have sworn allegiance to BW and will probably introduce the game to my offspring. I live in the GTA region in Canada and honestly I was going to organize a LoL tournament for high schools across the provinces because there are certainly people from foreign facilities that play the game around. I wanted to legitmize electronic gaming in the west and make an cultural impact. With LoL being so fun and such, I think that if I had thought of the idea prior to merely 3 month left and blast right when the schoolyear began, we could have tournaments every single months that every member can pour in 5 dollars in and with 100 schools participating and lets say 10 players on each team. That's 5K of price money. And later, the finals could be hosted in the auditorium to gain further popularities with the gaming community. It could truly spread awareness to the public as one of my friend's relative owns the City Newspaper and another one of my friend's mom is an executive at a city-wide TV broadcast station.
Man, just thinking about the magnitude of this project and where it can take electronic gaming just baffles me. There could be potential interviews on the core people that made this possible to which Brood War can once again be refreshed in the public's mind.

He is saying that Dota 2 contains many harder mechanics than League of Legends. Where LoL oversimplified things to gain interests from the masses That is similar to SC2 where they introduced many easy to use interface in order to facilitate the gameplay of BW.
but I'm willing to bet it isn't the hybrid league that is killing viewership (ie viewership won't rise with sc2 only).
I've said it a few times already, and I'm going to say it again because BW really is that important: You'd think KeSPA would heed such facts and try to revamp BW rather than transition to SC2, or worse still, attempt this awful hybrid system.
Surely the state of BW can't be beyond repair considering the date for such crowd turnouts were as early as December of last year.

BW is very much beyond repair. MBC Game is dead. So many teams are disbanded. Sponsors are impossible to find and now they are relying on SK Telecom for PL and KeSPA sponsorship for Team 8. It's pretty much SC2 or bust at this point.

I hope people give them a chance. The kespa exhibition event proved these players are improving to top level players and will show more than we have seen so far in proleague. Flash is amazing.
Also, people who pretend brood war is so different that build order wins don't exist or big advantages due to one attack or harass don't simply end the game sometimes are either delusional or don't understand brood war very well either. Starcraft 2 comes down to "1 battle games" about as often as Brood War does.

Well, hope and reality are two different things unfortunately my friend.
I think a lot of people here really hope bw could stay longer, but the reality is it's going down whether you like it or not
It's not about hope or reality the thing bw can stay longer as it want after all it started in korea and the bw scene is going to stay there it doesn't matter if you like it or not . People won't wake up one day in korea and say "hey I am going to stop playing bw because you know flash is playing sc2 " . I have more confidence in the bw players in korea than the one in foreign country . So nope reality can be what it is right now an amateur scene having all the basic infrastructure for the players that is a computer table and two monitors facing each other and playing bw .
We don't need the gsl lightning crap intro and such to broadcast a bw game after all we are interested in the game not the productions .

Though I somewhat agree that there's nothing we can do about the transition now, but I think that if the resurgence of BW is possible, it won't be anytime soon.

Umm... because he wants to understand what you are really saying? He just asked. Why are you being so hostile about that?
Though I somewhat agree that there's nothing we can do about the transition now, but I think that if the resurgence of BW is possible, it won't be anytime soon.
Since now that I'm starting college(THIS WEEK!!!), it would be pretty easy for me to be "realistic" and start focusing on other things.
Point Is I am done with starcraft and it's scene it can do whatever wants I have more time to focus on my career right now since bw is already completely dead in proleague.

We don't need the gsl lightning crap intro and such to broadcast a bw game after all we are interested in the game not the productions .
Err I'm not sure I understood this sorry. Assuming english isn't your first language.

but I'm willing to bet it isn't the hybrid league that is killing viewership (ie viewership won't rise with sc2 only).
Don't know man I just want to be positive and hope bw have another revival .
I would also love to see BW stay around forever but I think we should be realistic. At least we can still play the game, and that's something that won't change no matter how things in Korea go.
If realistic means accepting sc2 ? than it can go to hell seriously . I would switch to LoL than play sc2.
then do it? nothing is stopping you
I am already playing LoL and watching most of the streams already so what's the point of you quoting me any more ?

which is why no one wants to watch proleague anymore. The majority of them are bad enough to die to 1 push.

"about as often" is the place where debate happens, ofcourse it still happens in BW, but in match ups like say TvT, TvZ, TvP, or even PvZ, it's rarely ever that 1 attack decides the game, the better player can usually recover barring something ridiculous like losing your whole worker line ~<5 minutes into the game. The other argument is also that when games get into the long macro game, alot of BW games tend to vary alot more with more different end game strategies for each match up, where as there is still fewer variants of end game compositions in SC2 (just because the game isn't that developed yet, not saying there can't be period), which makes it less interesting.

Right now the entire weekend is viewable as one long video on the mlg stream page (http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/live#sc2), and the kespa invite starts around 28:17. That's just the main stage stream though. Features the player intros and a couple of games. The rest were shown on the other streams so you'll have to find them there at around the same times. Hopefully they'll release proper vods soon.

VODs are available through their stream page, but only for paid subscribers. Normally VODs go free in about a week.
