This season a hybrid lottery-selection system was introduced. The 4 seeded players were given the choice of one player among the 12 DT player pool for their group. Then the remaining 2 spots in the groups were decided by lottery. Seeds went in the order chosen by the winner of the previous OSL (Jangbi).

2007/8 Jaedong was so intense. Micro and macro were so on point that you risked your health if you were paired up against Jaedong. A different time perhaps - those were the glory days of BW with Klazart going 200 wpm I just hope Fantasy and Flash don't end up meeting each other before the semi-finals. We need another Bo5 between them

Stork said he was surprised that SoO was even in the Ro16 (before realizing he was seeded) and that SoO doesn't have much force as an OSL seed. SoO replied that a year ago to the day, on May 8th, SoO beat Stork by 5 pooling him. Their head to head record is 3-0 in SoO's favor.
Stork wanted to celebrate his 100 wins with an actually good opponent but when Soo chooses him, he's think it's a sign that he has to do it. Soo says "thanks for the honor".
Stork on a lot of trouble. Seriously though, I'm so pissed at Jangbi's terrible luck at drawing. Look at Khan, 4 players in 4 different teams and KT, 2 players in the same group of death ugh.... I would love to see Action and Flash advance from that abomination of a misfortune.

If Jangbi is in the same shape as he was in the last OSL then it will be be more than amazing, I just hope it isn't a repeat of the two games in the PL playoffs between them
Many thanks to SNM for the live translation. I'm happy that I'm staying up to catch every minute of this last BW OSL.
I'm kinda bummed out that I didn't see the new OSL intro today, but I guess they'll show it next week once the games start. The Jin Air intro was lame, but the Bacchus intro before that was sick good.

I'm kinda disappointed about this as well. Electric Circuit and Sniper Ridge are decent. Gladiator wasn't in Proleague, so I'm kinda fine with that as well. But for some reason, I just don't like Ground Zero. Maybe it's just the tileset...
Group A is OP. I really look forward to the games though. Also it is the only group with all three races which makes it much more fun to watch. Poor unlucky Action. Group B is a joke. Fantasy is a lucksack. Group C is an even bigger joke. Not even sure if I want to watch this. But I swear that if Soulkey and Hydra get eliminated because of build orders I will riot!!! Groud D is okay I guess. Still this group would be much cooler with a Terran.
If only Rush and Zero were switched we would have 3 really cool groups instead of one -_-
Jangbi you idiot lol..."Ohh Im happy if no team kill and no Flash ^^ herp derp picks ball....and your first opponent is....FLASH!!!!" o.O lol.... Group A has the most potential and I hope players step up the game quality from the previous round.
Group B....meh lucky fantasy in a joke group. Even thou I have hopes that those 3 royal roaders can take fantasy out.
The other groups are interesting but Im scared for soulkey...and even hydra if his ZvZ form doesn't go back to MSL winning levels...
I faith in Stork that he'll advance out of his group, I don't know for JangBi... Fantasy will be upset by Grape and Rush, and Shine will huehuehue out of his group.
Group A will be epic, Group D as well. Fantasy will probably rape B but the second place promises to be an exciting battle. Group C ensures we lose at least 2 zergs (fuck yeah!) and has good ZvZ players in there. Looking forward to it!
In 2011 Bachus OSL Fantasy and Hydra were also said to have easy group, from time perspective it was one of the hardest groups that season (both Hydra and Fanta took MSL/OSL trophies). And so group C is not a joke. Soulkey and Hydra are great players, and Shine used to be better than most of you give him credit. But ZvZ? Bleh. Group B looks uninpresive, but lets just wait and see, some 'dissapointments" may occur here as well.

Group C will be a hard group to make out, but as much as I like ZvZ, I must say that 3 Bo1 ZvZ for each player might make us sad. Shine might have better ZvZ than Hydra nowaday for all we know. Edit : and hyvaa's ZvZ is good enough to eliminate any of the above. yeah, that group is a bit of a joke imho.
Group A is by far the strongest. Action is really in-form these days. But I'm really sad to see him in the same group as Flash... Hope that both will go through.
A finals between any of the OSL winners sounds like a great MU (assuming flash doesn't 3-0 them), but I don't see a good MU involving anyone without an OSL win. Maybe zero vs not flash, but even that seems like a 3-0 waiting to happen.

You assume that Stork will die to Zero 3:0 again? :p
Also, Fanta and Jangbi will find a very tough match against Zero, if he peak his form.

peak zero vs peak any of the other 4, zero loses. And if the series is close because someone is playing too much SC2, then it probably won't be a very good series anyway.
Fantasy's group looks rather dangerous. I'm hoping he makes it out of his group, gets to the finals with a good opponent, and then displays the same beyond-godlike level of play that he had in the Proleague finals.
SO Sad.... there is no Jaedong in this. There is no justice in the world T_T.....*sniffle*
My predictions: A) JangBi +Flash B) Fantasy+ Grape C) HydrA+ Soulkey (hoping hard for these two here) D) Stork+ ZerO. (This group is rough imo, I want soO, Stork, & ZerO to advance)
A- The group of Death. Everybody has a chance to go through, although Flash is still the favorite. No idea who's gonna follow him but hopefully we're gonna see great games.
B- Interesting group aswell. Fantasy should move on but i wouldn't be surprised if there was an upset from one of these recruit/newer players (especially mini).
C- ZZZZzzzzz: Well, i guess people who love ZvZ will be delighted. I think Neo.G_Soulkey and Hydra will have an easy time but you never know, anybody can win a ZvZ.
D- The first thing i thought when i saw this group is that Stork is completely screwed. I mean he's matched up with 2 great ZvPers and the king of PvP. So even though i'd like to see Dinotoss move on, i expect both zergs to reach the round of 8.
I'm really interested in Group A since my KT boys are there.
Game 1 Jangbi vs Bogus on GZ - Map advantage to Bogus, but Jangbi will most likely win. Game 2 Flash vs Action on EC - Flash wins Game 3 Jangbi vs Flash on Gladiator - Rematch, but I expect Flash to be more prepared. Game 4 Bogus vs Action on Gladiator - Mech is kinda good here and that's Bogus' thing, but given Action's late-game, he might take it. Game 5 Action vs Jangbi on Sniper Ridge - Remember prelims? ZvP + SR = Good tosses lose to stupid zergs. Action wins with a surprising lurker contain. Game 6 Flash vs Bogus on Sniper Ridge - FlashvT happen.
If Bogus wins against Jangbi and/or Action wins against Flash(not entirely impossible, but Action breaking his streak is...wierd), then Flash and Action's chances to advance becomes higher. Flash should just solely prepare for his game against Jangbi. That's the most important factor in this group for me. What's good about this group is that all my predictions in each game could go either way and I won't be surprised.
Edit: As stated earlier, this is definitely biased.

LOL sounds like these are your secret wishes and not your analysis of the players.
As much as I love Soulkey and pray he escapes, this will be tough for him... I don't know who is better among Hyvaa and Shine so I flipped a coin. Hydra for experience's sake.
I hate Horang2 simply because he keeps winning when I don't want him to. And since I want to see Stork & Zero advance, I bet he will probably win, at the cost of Zero (likely).
Wow, the groups look actually pretty okay for once, well except for Group C 'cause you always gotta have your ZvZzzzs Looks like I will have to go through a lotta pain just to root for ya, Hydra my boy T__T
And lmfao Fantasy, his luck just can't any better while Jangbi's luck... We'll see if he's still got it from his last OSL win. But I believeee!!
Kiett your titles for the groups are ttly appropriate, especially Group D's lol BM group 2 good
Groups are interesting that's for sure. Can't help but feel bad for action since I think he could have made it out of any other group. Will be watching group A with much intensity!
FlaSh vs Jangbi... hehehe... well jangbi its safe to say ur already 0-1 in this group... fool flash once, shame on you, fool flash twice, you wont live to tell the tale.

And all it took was a debilitating wrist condition and Pathfinder!
How did the choosing go with this one? Did Jangbi being the champion choose the lineup? Why would he choose Flash, Action, and Bogus for his group. Flash will advance this one easily, with a great chance to rip Jangbi apart as revenge.
Also, all ZvZ group, yay!
Group B with rookies and Fantasy looks exciting too.

Read the process in the OP.
Each seed got one choice for his group. The other two were assigned by lottery. Nobody picked Flash. Jangbi is just unlucky.
Group A is ridiculous. Even Flash is not safe. Ideally, Flash and Jangbi advance, but I feel an upset coming. Can't really call it. I suppose Action despite his excellent form lately is cannon fodder here as none of these players are likely to allow him to reach late-game. Group B is retarded. Fantasy's vP is immaculate, and all the other players there are plain weak. I suppose fantasy and Grape are favorites, but seriously, Grape, mini, Rush are all interchangeable noobs. Group C has the advantage of being short since it's all ZvZs. Shine and hyvaa are both great at the matchup when focused, and the best player (Soulkey) is relatively weakest at it. Ideally, Soulkey and Hydra advance, but chances are it will be more like Hydra and hyvaa. Group D has three of my favorite players (Stork, favorite Protoss, ZerO, favorite Zerg, and Horang2, favorite happy face). Both of the Protoss are relatively weak vZ, and considering the maps (and ZerO's ZvZ), unfortunately, I see soo advancing. soo and Stork, but like group A, any combination is possible.

Like who? Action is plainly bad (despite what your red icon is telling you), Jangbi not showing good performance since osl finals, bogus is 4-6 in last 10 games with 5-loss streak.

Bogus, Jangbi and Action all has awesome potential and you will not say otherwise, Action is hot as fuck now, playing the best BW of his carrer and we have no reason to count Jangbi or Bogus out.
Don't know about you guys, but group D is fucking crazy. Zero and Stork has the potential to advance the final, Horang2 is a PvP monster! Soo is just Soo, but sometimes he plays sick games. I think Stork has to show one of his best starcraft to advance.

He trolled everyone by saying he was going to pick an easy road for the OSL, but instead selected one of the best remaining player to provide worthy competition.
Well I agree that Group 1 looks pretty stacked at first sight, but neithr Bogus , nor Jangbi really impressed during the Proleague season ( at least thats what I thought) . Bogus failed as his team's ace and Jangbi really let down after winning his title. It will depend on wether or not Action can keep up his performance. If so , it will clearly be Flash and Action.

I'd say that Group A have the potential for the best games.
However I am keeping my eyes on Group C the most. Despite of what you guys may think of the matchup, ZvZ is the my favourite matchup. Its short, tense as fuck and doesn't require you to commit a good hour of your time to know the result.
Group A seems to me to have three players who have recently shown some pretty good play and i can't think that any of the other groups have more than 1 except maybe D with stork/zero
Anyone else concerned the game quality will deteriorate with the players now focused on SC2? Do the pros even give a damn about BW or OSL if they know SC2 is what they will be forced to play from now on?

It's OSL dude. Expect at least 110%
did you see the ODT games? from them we can expect about 10%

Yeah, Flash saying he only practices SC2 these days... I am really worried that games will suck and we will have many upsets coming. Just wait and see Shine taking the last OSL...
I hope the games get better. No offense but some of the games this season and in prelims were tons worse than years before. I assumed they would be better or at least be the same but I guess since they play SC2 parttime/fulltime, their BW skills suck a lot more than before, when their games were so devoid of silly mistakes and questionable decision making. God bless osl, please practice BW for this!
