Because of some amazing Zs around, yeah. Some koreans I've talked to consider it a P even (I consider it balanced).

Ok, this is how it works (I think)

It's like ODL, it has two rounds.

The first from each group gets to advance, that's 12 players.
The second from each group plays in an elimination of sort, and 6 players get to advance.
Four players advanced from the amateur league.
Two seeds from the last WCG.

That's a grand total of 24 players. I would think those 24 players get placed into three/four groups and the winner of each group gets to go to WCG.

I think...
When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

lolz okay... so.. translated that means like?
first round only the players who come out as first rank in their groups advance to the second round
in the second round they are (randomly?) seeded and another cut is made, narrowing the pro field down to 6... players...

meanwhile.. back in semi-pro land.. the round of 8 is played and the top 4 will move on to join the 6 qualified pro gamers.

additionally, Xellos and midas[gm] are both seeded from their finish last year, completing the field of 12 for a final elimination tournament (randomly seeded?)

Uh.. I think that's what I read out of that

I think they chose to use their league maps at this stage so that not every pro gamer is practicing on WCG maps and it lets them focus on their leagues, then those with an actual shot of getting through to WCG can begin practicing on WCG maps and the rest can get on with their shit without losing stride

it's a vacation and a huge jump in their kespa rating AFTER their nationals. And 1st place is as much as winning KT-KTF I think. Koreans definitely care about WCG.
when they really get to know you they will run

predictions! What are they GOOD for absolutely nothinggg....

group 1:

JulyZerg brutally rampages over all competition (Cloud has been known to knock out favorites in the past though, if theres any upset here i'd only expect it to be a Cloud > July upset, but that's unlikely)

KETOSI_NT????? Who in the hell! haven't seen this guy in ages... though I do remember his ID many times in the past, I didn't even realize he was ever a progamer let alone STILL gaming these days -.-

group 2

eh not much to say here, experience factor says oov or ggplay to advance, but after ggplay's zvz loss to YellOw I think his spirit was broken -_- he didn't even put up a fight vs AnyTime yesterday... oov will crush him

group 3

GoRush obviously the favorite here in terms of success as of late.. only players in this group at the top of their game lately would be TheROCK or possibly Zeus (hes such a streaky player), and either way even if they make it to GoRush, they dont really stand a chance vs his zvp.

group 4

hohoho what we've all been waiting for.. the return of the king, episode 3..... he is NaDa Lee Yun Yuol!

N obody can win him
A man who is genius
D o not fight him
A king of terran

cmon everybody lets NaDa!

okay okay-.- enough of that.. but seriously... who can compete with him in this group on these maps? sorry Nal_rA, your time will come

Group 5

Everybody was talking about how goodfriend sucks horse shit at TvP last week.. he molested Reach like Michael Jackson and Macaulay Culkin.. if anybody needs more proof than last week that GoodFriend is for real! I guess ur gonna see when he cruises group E.

Group 6

A little bit of everything in this group.. you have the perennial Starleaguer and master of the universe himself YellOw obviously the favorite heading into the group play, as well as long time pro gamers SC_SidE and H.O.T.. always both deadly.. I guess it would be a tough guess as to how good shape ZergMaN will be in come tournament time due to his recent loss in the starleague must be disheartening, will he respond with more and more practice? or will pull a MuMyung and spiral wildly out of control and only resurface in proleague 2v2 matches, I guess time will tell. Gonna have to go with YellOw > TossGirl to win Group 6.

Group 7

Group 7 sees the first play-in match of the tournament in addition to the normal games. NISSI~100prowin plays vs CuteAngeL[Name] (aka FrOzean[Name]) to determine the right to participate in Group 7's games. no really big names appear off hand in this group other than ChoJja. Hard to get a handle on the state of ChoJJa's game.. other than he lost to Pusan this past week.. but it wasn't really a totally accurate picture thanks to Pusan's gayness with the pylon/forge. Due to the lack of any real terran or zerg presence in this group I predict ChoJJa to advance due to experience.

Group 8

Festive and BeJJeZerg plays for the play-in match here and I predict bejje to take it. Afterwards.. Luxury[GsP] will turn on the cruise control and its light's out for Group 8 8( so sorry for you Reach fans =( but hey, miracles do happen.

Group 9

definately the Group of Death, Kingdom, Silent_Control, ShinHwa[Name], ipxzerg, stork[gm], YELLOWNAME!!!! um.. its all up in the air as far as this one is concerned though my heart says Kingdom for the win!

Group 10

Though many would hesitate, and would doubt His vs protoss abilities, I for one do not!! He is Boxer and u do not doubt him!!
To be honest, Center[Name] is really a chump, HoOny's style will get raped by Boxer, DaezanG might put up a fight but I guess that one depends on the map.. all other disasters of nature aside, by the time most players are sweating about how hard it was for them to win the game they just finished, He will be the winner and across the street eating a big mac I'm Lovin It!!

Group 11

yada yada yada Siva/TheMarine/fOru coin flip here

Group 12

final group of the prelim elimination rounds... AnyTime will have a real uphill battle in this group if he wants to advance. Rumble's zerg vs protoss is the only MU he's had any real success in so far as a pro, and JJu the zvp behemoth is also lying in wait in this group.. AnyTime..[gm] fighting!
