don't completely disregard Jaehoon and Tyson, if they can find last seasons performance (and generally P is doing quite well so far) T8 should be a force to be reckoned with, they get 2 wins a lot, just need one more player to deliver each day...they will be fine...eventually!

Biggest factor for T8 IMO is Sea not being able to catch a break, getting cheesed pretty much every game and being generally unlucky. Once Sea returns to his PL bonjwa form T8 will jump the rankings ezpz.

that may very well be so (him picking it up, or for once not getting vP all the time), but then if JD or Baby lose somebody still has to win, they have to have 1 protoss who performs just for matchup variety = unpredictability

Sometimes I wonder if it's because Coach Joo doesn't understand his players well enough. Anyway, there are 3 rounds of Proleague in total, so 2 more rounds (14 games) to go for most teams.

There being one less starleague could really hurt Flash's ELO a bit in the long run, at least if he gets some rest/KT stomps.

Coach Joo was on the Sungchoon show a few weeks ago and intotherain asked him how many games Jaehoon would be sent out for, Coach Joo said 20 games (obviously that's not possible now, since there are only 14 games left before the play-offs).
Then Coach Joo was asked how many games he thought Jaehoon would win, and he said 10 games (ie. 50%). It would have been nice if he'd shown more faith in his player, even if it's just for show. As a player watching that, it was probably not very encouraging to hear.

Just one of those days I suppose. Hydra losing to Best was surprising seeing how he's beaten Stork, Bisu among others in the past. Meanwhile Best has played some good PvZ games this fall - most notably beating Jaedong. Best winning over Hydra not that big of an upset. Skyhigh losing to Fanta was the heartbreak of the night. Had he pulled through Leta / Movie / Horang2 could've taken the rest home. Disappointed and a little bit sad. Both players played amazingly though. Overall an awesome series of Brood War once again!! =)

Sea's lost five games: three games where if he won Team 8 would have won the match (assuming no other changes) and 2 other games which would have forced a fifth set (ditto). If he wins, say, 3 of those, Team 8 probably has at least two more wins. That's not to say everybody else doesn't need to step up as well, but Sea's supposed to be a PL ace.

Very well so, there is no contesting that. But i also feel it's a bit of an Chicken and Egg problem. The opposing teams at this point only really have to prepare two matchups (and if you send a player to snipe either Killer or JD he should also be able to perform well against the other - basically prepare 3 games and phone 2 in), and if they take out one out of JD/Sea/Baby they will probably be fine. Sure the others still perform and at this time the blame has to lie with Sea, but T8 just seems so easy to prepare against atm i can't find it in my heart to blame him, maybe i just don't want to...
I'm just not sure that if Sea starts performing, no other weak link will rear it's head.
(SKT/KT/CJ seem very reliant on match preparation and while player strength is a factor, that's what makes them perform so consistently, maybe i overstate it but i feel it's a huge giant deal)
|
|
Yeah, there's no doubt there SKT/KT/CJ are the best prepared teams. I certainly feel that Team 8 is lacking in that aspect.

Sea has been on the decline since Light left MBC. His play just isn't as solid as it used to be. It has nothing with him getting matched vs P and its not about getting cheesed. His focus just isn't what it used to be for some reason. His TvP was never a weak matchup and he used to be able to shut down cheeses cleanly. I hope he gets his form back and the success of T8 depends on him. But I wish people would stop saying its because he gets matched vs P all the time. When in form, Sea's TvP is quite fearsome.

Indeed, Light was MBC`s vP flop not Sea.
