Maybe he just wants to have his surgery earlier and be able to play in the next PL season asap. Maybe he lost on purpose. Maybe he didn't. yeah man, maybe he threw it and lost on purpose, just like he did in the pl finals a week ago + Show Spoiler + PL =/= OSL -_- Before the last PL finals, they only had one PL championship. Why would he risk his arm for an OSL that happens 3-4 times a year, which he already won thrice? :/ I'm not taking away anything away from Jangbi though. I'm cheering for him for this OSL because I was supposed to cheer for Killer . risk his arm lmao, you people are as dense as stones. do you honestly think he wouldve turned up to play if his arm was in such a serious condition that it would degrade from 2 fucking games now, and a bo5 every couple of weeks in the future? Its not about the 2 games and 2 Bo5s(which is only 12 games max). He would probably lose his arm if he would practice for those games for more than half a day per day. He would probably lose those BoX if he would practice less than that/half-heartedly. So yes, I think he would.
The reason Flash lost today has nothing to do with control or not understanding the map or whatever. He got outwitted.
Mass gaming doesn't make you better at detecting whether a protoss has just added 2 gateways rather than a 3rd when you don't have scan(3rd game). Mass gaming doesn't prevent you from thinking aggressive play when you did not scan your opponent's 3rd(2nd game). Flash could've practiced a thousand more times and still make those fatal errors that lost him these two games.

Apparently Jangbi's 3rd on Pathfinder was oddly placed, so when Flash scanned Jangbi's "natural 3rd" and found no expansion, he must've assumed Jangbi was going for a 2-base break or harass. It would explain why he was in full turtle mode with his 3rd up, since he believed Jangbi was just starting his 3rd when that was actually Jangbi's 4th. If terran and protoss are on equal bases, then Flash's turtling is actually the winning play. Keep in mind we're looking from the observer's POV. Flash I believe never scanned Jangbi's 4th quick enough, and that ninja expansion which rolled into quick 5th, 6th, and mass gateways at the other main. Giving Jangbi enough to simply outmacro Flash.
If that's truly the case, then Flash actually made fatal reads on Jangbi in both the games tonight. He guessed 2-base break when Jangbi was expanding like a madman. And he guessed expansion when Jangbi went for the break. People blaming Flash's wrists should be wondering what the hell happened to his maphack instead.
Yeah, that's partly what I meant about metagaming.
He deliberately went fast fast robo to force a bunch of turrets delaying flash's third. Then he went for hidden third to force flash to delay his third even more for a potential bust. Then he went super fast 4th and 5th as soon as he saw that breaking the third wasn't the way to go, and teched fast because he knew that flash saw his arbiter and was more worried about a recall.
Jangbi abused the fact that FlaSh feels his TvP > Jangbi PvT, so he played overly safe so he wouldn't get beaten by some stupid play. Jangbi then shows two twists in his build that would imply special tactics. And then Jangbi mass expos off FlaSh's turtle.
Then, in set 3 he went for robo into shuttle-speedlot bombs/minedrags. Here, FlaSh got metagamed from set 2. He went rax-expo because he realized he couldn't give up that big a lead and rax-expo is now his standard. Jangbi knows this and 12nex's. Then, realizing FlaSh scouted his 12nex last, he guesses that FlaSh will try to take an early third to catch up/overtake him eco wise. So he masses off two base for 2 rounds longer than normal before taking a third.
Basically he showed a potential for something in set2 but didn't exploit it. but then showed the same thing at a different timing in set3 and did use it.

since they just win over each other. Fantasy actually isn't in the Kong line after his win against Stork in the OSL finals. Defeating Stork doesn't count. lol that doesnt make sense since they beat each other to get out of the kong line right?

It doesn't count because they're both in the Kong line, they have to beat a non-Kong liner to get out

Fantasy and Hydra must be licking their lips right now. Haha.

Totally expected Flash to win but wow. Jangbi deserves the OSL if he gets through killer too. We've never had fan clubs for BW players.
Also Killer was eliminated...

My mind needs a few days to grasp that JANGBI beat Flash. Oh fuck yeah - go for the gold, J!
As much as I love the H, Fantasy is probably winning this. Hydra got stomped hard by Flash last time they met and Fantasy's TvZ is no joke. Not to mention SKT1, Finals appearences etc etc. You got your work cut out for you Hydra
Fantasy vs. Jangbi finals. . . . Jangbi has the upperhand since he has no style that can be read. Fantasy will prepare for a toss and Jangbi can tailor his play to fanta. Gonna be a good finals.
Soo who?

Wait, this was not discussed in the pages where it happened. But why did Killer pause in game 2? There was a mention of "bug", but does anyone know for sure? And what did the KeSpa guy say?

As a flash fan i'm so happy jangbi won. Since I begun watching live bw (ro8 of last ever osl) never seen a protoss win anything. Also I switched from terran to protoss recently. Tbh i was rooting more for jangbi than my favourite player, I got the chills with those storms of set 2. Now i'm with jangbi all the way, i'm hoping he doesn't fall to soo and being all these in vain. He struggled against all the odds, prevailed on tie breakers and now defeats the number 1 player. Jangbi Hwaiting!!
About flash discussion about losing on purpose, let's be realistic. Flash is a champion, and therefore has the mindset of a winner. Someone doesn't win championships constantly if they don't really desire to win them. When i saw flash today he was not likely to seem wanting to throw 2 games in a row. His ceremony before entering, tapping his left of the chest and showing the hand with 4 fingers or his exaggerated rule mesuring is a worth proof of that. However he is realistic and being aware of his condition didn't prepare an intensive multtasking gameplan. He went for 3 bases into maxing mech to roflstomp jangbi, no early agression or dedicated harassment to delay jangbi's build. He overstimated jangbi thinking it would be enough, he normally falls for that kind of play, but today jangbi released the beast inside him. Jangbi outplayed flash.

Wait Killer got Disqualified? I haven't gone back to watch/read the entire LR, save the ending of the Jangbi/Flash games I caught while at work.

He paused without typing PPP 3rd game was 9 pool speed > 12 hatch

I literally screamed after reading this And then I proceeded to punch myself for oversleeping and not watching it live But then I looked at my liquibet, and Im happy again. I believed. We believed, sons of Aiur. I believe I said in this same thread JangBi HAS THE SKILLS to take on Flash but I didnt know if he was clutch enough. Well, well, well... what do we have here. I am now officially gay for The Mighty of Aiur.
