I expect Baby to win the first match, unless Hyuk can pull out an upset. While upsets in this match would be suprising it wouldnt be as suprising if free beats hero, hero has descent vP and has been a consistent addition to STX's lineup, while free has been slumping and not appearing on woongjins lineup at all. Maybe free has dedicated all practice time to individual leagues but nevertheless i expect free to loose the first match. The winners match I expect Baby to win, gladiator is a balanced map tvz with terran in a 3 game favor so the map wont help hero. Baby 2-0 The loser's match I expect Hyuk to eliminate free, the map is perfect for hyuk's preferred hydra - ling heavy ZvP, free 0-2 The final match would then be a toss up between Hero and Hyuk with build orders, even though I expect Hyuk to win given mirror build orders.
Hmm, bad idea for Hyuk to keep moving forwards with his lurkers after all the lings died - he finishes off the rest of the army but lost more lurkers than necessary
Could someone tell me why terrans always switch to mech in the endgame these days? Wouldn't it be smarter to just go 2port vessels with more upgraded MnM, you could carry the upgrades you get in the early game into the late game.
a pretty big force of tanks heading out Baby using his last mnm to attack towards outside Hyuk's choke - Hyuk with the swarms - lings drag a few mines into tanks! but the rest of the lings just die to mines

early m&m + vessels gives you the map control and expansion denying alonside with drops -> vulture mines deny the lurker+defiler+ling forwarding and sneak attacking -> mass tanks rape ultras, and zerg doesnt have the necessary upgrades to deal with mech at this point. It's really a bitch to fight against.

Because a hive tech Zerg with a 4+ gas economy rapes bio play.
hyuk with so many fail with his muta/ling in the mid-game. And then when Baby had a chance to finish the game in 10-15 minutes, he decide to make the game twice as long by switching to mech. It's like watching one of those bad TvT where one side gets a huge advantage and the other side stays for another 20 minutes before gg.

It's almost like Baby did his best to lose, yet Hyuk put his foot down and said he was more determined.

He did play it pretty sloppy. He had the econ and army to crush Hyuk yet he still struggled. His TvZs used to be much better. Then again, he hasn't TvZ'd in ages (televised) so he's probably a bit rusty.

Two or three fail erasers for no real reason streched the game out at least 10 more minutes.
'Cept eraser "failures" means the defender was defending appropriately?
The perspective should be: a successful eraser is a failure on the part of the zerg, rather than a failed eraser is a failure on the part of the terran.

Well if you're going to compare Baby's play to his own peak all his matchups are sloppy nowadays.
On July 01 2011 20:48 Holgerius wrote: Meh, you're giving Baby too much shit here IMO.
Not sure why you feel that way. Baby had the typical 3-tank/SV push at a time when hyuk was on lair tech. Then hyuk's first attack failed. This situation is basically a your prototypical won-game for terran.
If it wasn't for the bio-mech craze, a normal terran would just stream his army into the natural and beat it down. Or at least kill the 3rd. Either way, Baby skipped the normal pre-defiler timing to make his mech transition. In the process dragged the game out another 10 minutes.

I'm not talking about his peak, just where he was in earlier rounds this season. He's a solid player overall, I expect solid play from him. His last TvZ was vs JD 2 months ago, and over 3 months for the game before that. He's been TvTings and TvPing exclusively for a while now.

lots of hydra getting stormed as they fight on the SW ridge 2 retreating templar get picked off though, the zealots don't tank for them as they run away faster

Amen.
Says the guy with a Zerg icon...? Unless you're tired of the Zerg infestation as well, lol.
It's becoming so bad that even Zergs can't stand it anymore!
I was going to feel bad for Free, but then I remembered last year, when he had an upcoming finals or semi-finals against Flash, said in an interview that "he'll show us the strength of Protoss", and then proceeded to go 14-Nexus every single game and lose something like 0-3. Screw Free.
Bah, figured, since Hyuk's ZvP is actually semi-decent.
I hope you get punished for your actions Hyuk... By getting booted out of the OSL by your fellow teammate Fantasy again. The cruelest fate of all, getting knocked out by your own teammate for the umpteenth time, even worse than facing the humiliation of getting cheesed!

Long long time ago protosses were defending their new expansions until they had at least 7-8 cannons ready there and they were leaving at least 1 templar to guard with the cannons. Who could have thought that there is reasoning behind it? Obviously not the nowadays protosses

I think it's way too early to put such expectations on Jangbi.
Or if you dump Jangbi in an all zerg group. No matter how good he is right now, he's still protoss and all of the zergs currently in the OSL are all very good at ZvP in some capacity.

you want to kill terran while you're at it? terran aren't doing too well either. i'll put it one way, the next best terran after flash is fantasy (lolol). dreamliner will probably increase the number of zergs because z >>> t
