Man! I'm so pumped! I've been playing only SC2 but there is still nothing better then glancing on the calendar and seeing that there is an early SWL match being played! I'm going to grab my OZ jacket and a beer and watch the shit out of this!
Leta pushing with siege and a vulture, building turrets outside PM's nat to block dts, but goons push him back temporarily. The rest of Leta's tanks show up and PM has to pull probes, but it's not enough. He's losing his nat.
Leta couldn't lose as long as he brought scvs for turrets and saved enough scan to block stalling DTs. Too many units for a tech rush like that to handle.
Haha, can some decent PvT player tell if that viable or not? Two fact timing was strong but PM had to know about it, too single minded focusing on the arb but this isn't very deep analysis.
Edit: More thoughts on the match, the build was decent but not adapted. If leta was siege expanded as is standard the arb timing would have been fine, with good micro he could have held some anything and then mapped Leta. He saw the late late expo though, I'm pretty sure he skipped obs so he hasd to guess if leta was going drop ship or 2 fact, leta hid his tanks well. From the positioning of his goons I'd say he expected drop, Pm should have either put up the two additional gates early or pumped dt's and force leta to slow push
two facts for both players, lomos everything is faster. Yay lomo, vultures being produced by both players. Neither getting in the other base. Standard standard standard
Lomo with a faster fourth but leta was a lot of vultures around the map. He'll have to be careful. Expanding in the direction of his seige line, solid play by lomo
Dropship out for leta, gonna fairy vultures into the main. Epic DMZ in the making, streams a tad laggy. Letas drop is doing some damage but lomos fourth is much faster
I think lomo has more bases, its hard to tell. Leta has at least four, lomo appears to being going up to six. Leta with the army advantage for what its worth (not that much). I think lomo has better ups and dropships
Lomo's taking the left side of the map, letas taking the right. Back and fourth going on at the DMZ, no clear winner. I'm worried lomos macro is letting him down, I hope he transitions to bcs
Both players taking the near islands because they're dropship can reach them more easily than there opponents. Lomo all up in letas island but letas dropships are close enough to clean it up. Good scvs for whats its worth (at this stage, little)

JK seven, 8 start ports total not with addons. I wonder if he'll go wraiths or if he hasn't felt like adding the ports yet. Leta smartly dropping the top left but lomo is there to contain it. He has to be careful, his ports are in the lower top right main and leta has parked tanks in the top right natural. Leta pushing the center with for advancement but its slowed to a halt by lomos reinforcements
WHodogoooo, Leta's killing Lomo, right bewfore mass wraith pop he kills the expo, what happy for me. I have sneaking suspicion that nukes can reach the cliff, from the islands, to help open up drops.
Lol Lomo's lioke "aww I don't really need the bottom right anyways.."
On February 20 2011 13:47 n.DieJokes wrote: Both players taking the near islands because they're dropship can reach them more easily than there opponents. Lomo all up in letas island but letas dropships are close enough to clean it up. Good scvs for whats its worth (at this stage, little)
I think you're confusing the players lol.
Orange is leta I think?
lol nah, what I said happened but while I was typing that the same thing happened in reverse
Leta's using his golaiths well. Lomo is having a hard time cleaning up the tanks that are up in his bases with just wraiths. Hasn't reached that critical mass yet
Leta is closing in on lomos ports, now the map looks like lomo mostly across the bottom whereas leta is mostly across the top. Lomos wraiths clean it up! But a ton of gols are out and moving toward the ports
Lomo resuming fact production but hes very far behind (in factory units, not in the game). Dropships back out for lomo. Leta has to be very careful with his tons of gols, he can't go breaking siege lines with them or the wraiths will rape everything he has
Sick vulture surround on the goon but snow target fires the mines well. He's taking his third right in the face of lomos vultures. Third fact going up for lomo, stargate starting for snow.
Its hard to tell if Lomos harass is effective or not, I guess we'll find out when Snow moves out. Lomo is taking his fourth before Snow. I wonder what his fact count is, arbs should be out soon Edit: Did I say easily? I meant its doing a ton of damage lol
Lomo playing effective harass, and is on about even bases with Snow. His tech is a bit behind from all that, though, and Snow has an opportunity with his first arbiter.
woah, Lomo is on fire I think the Harass was worth it, the Tank had 9 Probe kills and other random stuff always died. Not sure if it is enough to beat someone like Snow, though. But playing on one level with Leta and then Snow is already better than expected.
Recall coming to the main, lomos in postion and cleans it up easily. This games was been really good so far Edit: Did I say easily, I meant it did a lot of damage lol

He didn't clean it up easily.. he just lost starport and both armories...
Edit: and many many supply depots. It's not even cleaned up yet at this point.

and this is PRECISELY why it is advisable (aka. Flash does it) to put your armories on the path between your Nat and wour main, instead of the back corner of your main where you can't defend in time
i'm glad that snow actually micros his units after he recalls them into a base. a lot of protoss players don't seem to do that much, so the dragoons end up shooting at different things for little damage.
Recall at bottom left snipes the cc. Snow is pretty good at this PvT thing, taking his fifth and sixth while continuing the recall around the map. His multitask is proving itself superior

Haha I love this, how Snow does some good harass, soo Jaedong gets annoyed by this mere mortal and just decides to go kill him, well kill his expo at least
JD raids another base with a few lings, but zealots manage to clean it up after one cannon goes down. JD finally takes down the 7 hp shuttle with a few hydras in the center of the map.
JD tries to raid the 3 again with lings and manages to get the nexus to yellow hp, but doesn't finish it off. Storms clean up a group of hydras outside the 1.
Snow tries to raid the 10 with his deathball, but JD already has defilers ready and is building up a group to pincer him. He manages to snipe a reaver before backing off.
JD now sends in his whole army after the reavers die to cracklings, cleaning up Snow's army and Snow tries to retreat with his few remaining goons, archons, and zealots, but JD is chasing him down.

Really now? Jaedong was ahead but didn't have the game until the last few minutes.
I felt confident, since he destroyed the third at the beginning. The Harass of Snow was good, but the rest was well not like the MSL Games.
In a televised game you don't GG just because you're behind. Bad GG timing refers to there being no possible way to come back and you stall the game to be BM.
Solid game by Jaedong. Very safe, really nice job cutting off Snow's reinforcements. All game would move to lightly contain the nat to stop Snow's ball from getting huge. I would have loved to see the fpvod from JD's perspective, he was doing so much behind the scenes that game
Also JD's expansion timings were impeccable. He took his fourth just greedily enough to give him an edge without leaving him vulnerable. He didn't freak out about taking a fifth, or about staying on four base vs four base against Snow. He abused that protoss mines out faster and played safe while snow had to expand or lose. Then took his fifth and sixth when right before he would have started failing behind economically. Safe and solid all game long

bbyong pushes out for the third time with a mnm army. JD spots it with his muta and hovers nearby, waiting for a chance to attack. bbyong finally moves across the bridge, but JD now has lurkers waiting for him on the other side.
bbyong pushing out toward JD's third, vessel manages to survive the scourge with some good micro, and all the lurkers die. JD sends reinforcements quickly, but defilers aren't ready yet. bbyong dropping JD's main at the same time.
bbyong snipes the defiler mound before JD realizes and sends lings to clean up. His third is under siege and he's already lost the nydus.

Losing to Bbyong would have done it! Whoa, a historic day for zerg.
anyways killer got in and killed a good number of SCv's in bboy's main but bboy didn't pull back his dozen MnM on from the map, instread he tried a sunken break on 3 sunkens, which failed, so now he's behind on tech and has lost a lot of SCV's to Killer's continued harass
Let's all remember that Jaedong went overpool (fearing a bunker rush?) while Killer went 12-hatch (against identical Rax-CC from Bbyong). That makes a pretty big difference.
That's how big of a deal each unit in ZvZ is worth. The commentators and some fangirls all freak when Hydra snipes one of killer's first three mutas with scourge

Actually what probably happened was Jaedong trained with Killer for the semifinals primarily and voila... Killer became closer to Jaedong level muta micro. It kind of is updated. Just at a later time. It will add each win up and give you his peak, even if it doesn't show him being #1 at any point. If for example I enter a bo5 with JD -1 point of jaedong's ELO and I win the first, it will show my ELO increase. But then when I lose the next 3 my ELO will drop back down. So you still gain the points, just maybe not that 20 minutes of recognition.

Updating the BW TLPD is easiest if you add the entire series at the same time. So most people usually wait until the end so they can copy the results section in its entirety.

Are you for real dude? People dont get paid for this stuff. its all volunteer. if u wanna start paying people a salary, they can keep your precious ELO up to date to the second. Apart from that, stop sounding like its everyones job to do your work for you
My work? Yeah, sure. Give me access to the database and I'll do it. Until then, calm down spaz.
lol, perhaps you should lay off on the name-calling.
and it seems like just because Antoine was updating after each game last match, you think you're entitled to it.

too soon?
Well I wasn't expecting whatever weirdness happened but it's still annoying that nobody was updating the rankings between games.

I don't know which match qualifies as last match but I was talking about a trend over time anyway.

Was a great series.
Post every 2 minutes with the 2 pics; would not lose you a lot of time, but still leave players with a view of what's happening in the intervening 2 minutes.
Damn, I wish I could have been here for the end of this. It's about time Killer starting playing as well as he handsome. Oz is looking fierce-some, does anyone know how many games back of play-off position we are? I can't find up to date statistics :/
Killer went 12 hatch while Hydra went 12 pool. I think whatever advantage Killer had was pretty much negated with those 3 wasted drones. Ultimately, Killer won because he had superior muta/scourge control.
