Last played alot better than I though he would.
According to Reach, he is the fastest learner he has ever seen. He start bw only like 2/3 years ago. Infact, his bw history knowledge is so limited, he didn't even know what the map Guillotine was.

jaedong played horrendously that game, but hive tech play is so fun to watch. jaedong is lucky the msl doesn't have any terrans, because against any other terran he would have lost this game.

Last is terribly bad. His multitasking and macro is non-existent. Jaedong's play is decent, but not special.

He obviously decided to stop mining for a while so that his oppononent has a chance. 3 bases vs 3 bases seemed fair

wow. Extended heart attack. That was quite the entertaining game. Surprisingly, he played a similar game vs Baby a while ago where he was in a rather disadvantageous position and battled back to win it.

At so many points in the game, Last was so close to breaking JD's spine, but somehow JD would defend by a sliver.

Yeah, really solid early game, mid game was ok, but he should have forced an opening with a drop or something, instead of patrolling the middle. Still, looks like a promising player.

Honestly, while watching that game, would you call the Zerg Jaedong not knowing that he's playing? JD used to be so much better than this.

Are you kidding me?

Last played very well, he played a better SK terran lategame than Leta/Fantasy usually do. He played a very strong TvZ and macro'd well and kept multitasking and keeping map control with mines. Now if it was Light/Flash, they would've rolled JD in that game, but last played a strong game.

I agree with you, for the last season, and this current season, JD's play in all mus has dropped significantly, he's just a lot more sloppy, has weaker reflexes, and weaker management and decision making in general, it's not only his opponents getting better, his play is sloppy itself. I have no clue how he reached dual finals last season, but he did, and he keeps bringing in results.

mustaju - THIS IS jaedong. He's always played using his micro skills to win. So many times he puts you on the edge of your seat but he pulls through.

Jaedong used to play with awesome decision making, great multitasking and superb micro. This game his drones quit mining for several minutes, and it took him 20+ minutes to defeat a low ranked Terran who failed a 7rax bunker rush.

JD got bunker rushed and then attacked twice with lots of bio units while still only having a pool, I don't think any other zerg would've managed to hold that off. Then he had to basically be on the defensive until the last 5 minutes at which point he finally managed to reclaim map control and roll over Last with superior harass and attacks. It may not have been perfect, but it was impressive, at least to me. Sure, Flash and Light would've probably won that but then again, if it was any other zerg, they'd most likely fallen.

Really? What other Zerg right now would you say could play like that? The multi-tasking, the micro, the decision making... He's still the best. (Zero can play at this level but only sometimes).

edit: Also, Jaedong's drone count was really low early in that game. He had to sacrifice a lot to build lings, lost some drones and lost more to build sunkens. Of course it will take time to recover from that. Not that he hasn't played better in the past though...

Sadly, I agree with you in the fact that JD used to stomp his opponents quite ruthlessly. Him losing would either be something very strange and not just regular play. Recently, his opponents have been pushing him to the limit quite often, and as a spectator with a vested interest in him winning, it gives me a heart attack, but I guess for a neutral fan, the games would be much more entertaining, with the razor thin defenses in this game.
