Flash's push in the game vs Bisu reminded me a little of that game vs Kal on FS where he split up his army and took out like 4 expoes simultaneously. He is so good at those. ^__^ Somehow he makes it seem like a piece of cake.

His play up to midgame was utterly sublime.

I believe what cost him the game was he over-expanded. If Flash is staying on 3 bases for that long you can be assured he's going to have a push from hell coming. Bisu's response was to addon more expos when he needed more army.

yeah seriously give both players more credit geez
saying bisu played bad only belittles how well flash played
the fact is if flash pushed out just a moment later and didn't emp as well as he did, bisu would have won 99%

I say bisu played poorly. He didn't properly scout what flash was doing. Instead of taking his 6th, he should of pumped more units. In fact, I don't really know if he should of taken his 5th. Having expo is great, but you need units to defend the expo, which is what bisu neglected to do. I think its a fundamental mistake that bisu made.

I agree with your assessment on why he lost the game, as you and others have said he needed to build gates + cannons at 9 instead of taking 9 nat // 11. But really Bisu's play up to that one error was very good.

Even during the push I thought both Bisu and Flash played beautifully. Flash just had too many units.

Bisu didn't play poorly. Flash would have lost for sure if the push failed, and it came down to a few units' difference. Bisu might have held if he had just dodged that EMP and gotten an extra stasis off and/or gotten just a few more units earlier.

Yes agree about overexpanding, this could be the reason too, but still what was so good about his harass, how many units did he kill actually??? 8 scv's ??? he did keep Flash worried about his bases, but this is not enough when you go for a reaver drop or whatever you are trying to drop in there

If it was BeSt with those amount of bases, that delay would have been enough to go into his patented anti-terran-macro-onslaught, and not even Flash can hold that off. Of course, BeSt wouldn't have had the chops to delay Flash with just needling his defense in many different places all the time and forcing him back. Bisu is great at the elegance and management strengths of Protoss, which makes him so deadly in PvZ, but he doesn't have the late-game brute force that the great PvT monsters have - his play-style is just very different. Considering Flash's (superb) defense in the game, Bisu managed to do the maximum damage without over-extending himself, up until his greedy late-game which opened him up for a timing push.

If Bisu could have held Flash back just a little longer, his lack of (well, compared to Stork and BeSt at least) late game PvT strength wouldn't have mattered. His game-plan was great, his performance near perfect. But Flash is the best TvP player of all time by a large margin. A perfect game doesn't guarantee a win against him.

Give Flash the credit he deserves here. He just took out the 2nd best Terran and the best Protoss (by ELO, even if not by matchup) along with another decent T. That's 3 in a row, 2 of which must have been rather exhausting. Display of bonjwa ability. Just rolling over the best players from SKT - no mean feat.

If Bisu had broken Flash's ball just once that game could've turned out so one-sided. Flash was mined out in his main and pretty much in his nat as well while Bisus econ was exploding. Unfortunately for him Flash controlled and timed his push perfectly and had some sick EMP'ing. :D

Despite T1 losing (obviously a bad thing), 122 frigging pages, a nice set of games plus a huge packed crowd (from the little I would watch) are all excellent news.

Oh and having the best player on earth in shape in the only league he's still participating in can only be good for the game too.

I was frustrated while reading the Fanta vs Flash report but all in all having Fantasy all-killed KT wouldn't have been as epic as this.

Bisu's build, game plan and execution that game was top class and it would have guaranteed beat any terran in that situation, but Flash has the best vP right now not just because of his macro, but also his sense of timing in this matchup and EMP usage which saved him.

Bisu started the game completely in control and the whole game was going to his rhythm. He was harassing, containing, and expanding and never let Flash settle.

His plan here is very similar to his game vs Mind on Tornado. Keep Terran pinned while expanding and then recall to delay/ slow T push enough to just let his expansions blow up and take such a lead the other guy might as well call GG. He can even kill the opponent with just recalls after a while with 20+ gates operational.

On Icarus you cannot really split your forces defending your nat + 3rd as Terran as it has to be very widespread because of the terrain and if a recall went off in the main he could use that window to break that front easily. Flash was prepared though with vigilant vessels and turrets/mines. Flash just hit the perfect timing while canceling out recalls and getting clutch EMPs and even then it was very close.

Great play from both.

SKT might have won if they sent Bisu instead of Ssak. Such a stupid decision to send him out.

Once it got to game seven, either outcome would have been equally epic.

WL FTW

From my observation of the last 3 games vs Flash I think each SKT player lacks one thing to face Flash :

Fantasy : He is a top tactician but not a good strategist. In a battle situation he micros well and always strike at the weakest position of the enemy line. The problem is that he's weak when it comes to strategic decision : which base should I attack ? where should I put my army ? where's he gonna strike ? He can win most battles with smaller army but he just loses it in the grand scheme of things.

Ssak :
This guy is the opposite of Fantasy : a good strategist since he knows exactly where to drop and where to defend, but his unit control - tactic is bad so he lost army and die.

Bisu :
Bisu is bad at mind game. Many of his losses are due to him failing to read his opponents and so he made stupid decisions that cost him the games. His strong point is his pre-game plan which most of the time put the opponent to a bad situation.

Flash is good at both strategy and tactics, and his mind game / decision making is good too, that's why he won against players who are strong at one aspect and weak at another.

I don't understand why people were so excited about that game. The opening was pretty good. Flash blocking bisu's recall attempt was good. But then in the end, all that happened was bisu forgetting to make units and lose in an unspectacular way. Flash basically a-moved into bisu's nat then proceeded to a-move with chunks of army to 1 and 11 expos to kill them. I was very excited to see bisu having lots of bases and hoped for an epic clash of armies, but that never happened. I honestly was just disappointed with this game.

but im disappointed in bisu. i expected something more spectacular, something with more feel to it. this whole game seemed dull and kinda "helpless" from bisus side.

overall, it was probably fantasy who lost the series for skt. he had a 2 base advantage over flash and controlled 75% of the map, in a tvt. without that crucial fail attack while simultaneously losing 2 expoes at once to drops, he could have rolled flash soooo easily...

well, gz godyoungho, u still are the best player in the world.

2 base advantage in TvF means it's about an even game, he will always find some way.
