dude calm threw that game hard, he literally looked sloppy as hell, like he wasnt reacting very well, his micro was abysmal, his tech was late. it was pretty bad

When a Terran plans and executes his drops well, it can make the Zerg look silly for not being prepared but it's really hard to cover all that area with Scourge. Of course he could have done a better job but very rarely will you see a Terran with no momentum going into the 10 minute mark (against a Zerg that already has Consume ready for the first Vessel push) swing a game THAT quickly. It was very well played....
This was really sad. I suppose Mind deserved it, but Calm had a strong early game and REALLY lacking midgame. He had the forces to fend it off and in correct places too, but didn't react fast enough.

watch the game again. Mind drops, and watch calms micro, its pretty abysmal. Zerglings attacking everywhere, misplaced dark swarms. Mind literally has 1 marine and medic to calms 8 lings plus drones at an expo and mind kills like 6 drones cuz calm doesnt even notice. Calm just could not multi task. Watch how many lurks r out of position. Watch calms reaction time, it was very subpar

Mind actually played really well. Showed good anti-lurker/anti swarm control and didn't lose alot of troops unneceserally in mid and lategame. And because he kept his stuff alive longer then most terrans, he was able to pressure 2-3 places at once all the time and Calm just couldn't keep up since he was actually wasting troops left and right. That horrible muta-split ended up playing a huge roll as a controlgroup of healthy muta instead of 8 wounded ones would have been able to clear the drop at the left up much quicker and maybe even save the 4th.

Hydras rush to 12, OLs on the way. Sairs intercept the OLs killing 1, but another OL makes it up there and the DTs die, but not before taking out the hatch.
Kal played great. Modesty wasn't playing badly, Kal just smashed on him. I was most impressed with his ability to get an advantageous exchange in the middle of the map and then pull back and carry that into the next battle. Very smooth.
Modesty is legitimately bad at ZvP. Lost so many overlords randomly for no appearant reason and just let Kal fly around with a handfull of sairs all game. Hydra bust was also weirdly timed as you generally want to hit before they get storm, not afterwards.

I concur. Compared to some other Modesty vs. P games, you can't deny that there was significant improvement, and if not for the good early game, it might have been more equal. I think he might take a game off Kal at a later time.
Magikarp has 3 attacks. Splash, Tackle and Flail. Magikarp also has a strong immune system, so he will be able to survive in polluted water that a Stork would die in. All Magikarp has to do is dump some toxic waste and Stork will go down.

Meh, Hiya did literally every thing wrong this game. Losing that first tank so carelessly is usually GG vs a good Protoss anyway. Then he decides to make things worse by putting his next two tanks sieged next to each other without any anti-air support.
Scouting SCV died to a zealot; he sent SCVs a bit late to repair the bunker; he got outmicroed in Marines vs zealot; he Lost his first tank due to bad placement.

Flash isn't the average terran though, thats my point. You'd think by now players would realize if there are 4+ goons attacking the bunker, don't send that tank within range because they'll kill it in 2 volleys.

Okay, for all you "Hiya played badly" people. The difference between Stork and many other tosses is that he almost always capitalize on mistakes. He doesn't have Bisu's APM. He doesn't have Best's macro. But he has the innate sense to always make sure to always attack terrans at their weak point. That's why his PvT is godly.
But this is also why Stork had trouble with recently God-Mode Flash, because Flash didn't show weaknesses. In a way, Flash at his best is the perfect counter to Stork. But in general, players always make mistakes. Many times nothing happens. And the mistake gets overlooked by us. With Stork, you SEE the mistakes because he capitalize on it.

Stork vs Hiya was definitely a bigger rape than this stork vs skyhigh game. I mean skyhigh didn't have siege researched until he had his last tank left, which was just ridiculously stupid. On the other hand, stork decimated hiya with literally just one reaver.
Just got a chance to watch stork vs HiyA, and seriously, I don't think I've seen anyone been picked apart like that for a long long time, stork was AMAZING, he punished HiyA so badly, like nothing I've ever seen.
Stork vs. Hiya was almost hard to watch---I like to imagine that at the end the crowd is chanting for Hiya to be thrown into some kind of sacrificial pit to atone for how badly he got destroyed.

To be fair that had a lot to do with the tank snipe. Losing a tank so early resulted in too little firepower to hold off the reaver in the main and a bunch of goons in the front. So that rape was hiya's fault to an extend, not that the result would have canged if that didn't happen. And stork of course had awesome game sense in when he attacked where hitting hiya wherever he had no defense
STORK! He has a chance at getting dual title and people think he is old and on the decline??? He looks like he is having a lot of fun and I think he will do better on ACE then most people think. Isn't he an avid WoW player and I think i read on TL that samsung has a lax practice schedule compared to the other teams. Couple that with stork wins on strats and control rather then APM and crazy strats, the Commander does not need the regular practice time that mortals need to succeed.

Yeah, but the program they use to gather that strikes me as pretty damn sketchy. It's like setting bwchart to very dynamic (they probably take that a few steps farther). Whenever they go into FPPOV you can tell the players are nowhere close to the peak numbers being shown.

I watched Stork game now and even though I am a stork fan, was it all that fantastic? I mean sure stork plays really well but I have a question.
Was it due to the tank snipe that the turrets was not up in time when Storks Reaver arrived? I have seen protoss snipe the first tank in other games but those have not turned out this way. I mean why was hiyas turrets late when other terrans manage to have them up in time even though they also got a tank snipe?
Maybe I am dreaming and those other game did not go into reaver tech, but it still feels strange that one tank snipe should make it impossible to get turrets up in time for a reaver harass.

In Piano's defense, his (dumb) build was against mutas and lurkers were a direct counter. Whereas, Hiya didn't make huge errors, but just got raped regardless.
Stork is taking on Hiya again the day after he goes up against Bisu. I wonder how much stork focus on Hiya and how much on Bisu? afterall Hiya is a lesser player then Bisu and Stork is so good in pvt. Not sure how much Stork wants both MSL and OSL but if I were stork, I would put more effort into OSL. He is 1 win away from the semi, no JD left, no Flash and a super big chance that he will have his best matchup in both Semi and final. This is to good to throw away just for the chance to double.
No you cant do both since a player like Bisu is going to be shit hard to beat when he puts 110% all in on pvp while you have to focus some on pvt aswell.
I would think that Stork would practice the fuck out of his PvP seeing as he's often playing cellphone games rather than practicing PvT. You know he hasn't practiced shit went he goes for the most blatant 2 base carrier ever and relys on insane reaver micro to win ie: games vs sea last OSL.
This way we get a sick series against Bisu as well as preparation for a Bo5 vs Kal in the semis of the OSL.

I think against both Hiya and Bisu, Stork will probably practice an aggressive build ahead of time. This way he can dictate the tempo of the game and make it easier to practice. Otherwise, there's no way Stork can practice for Bisu today, Hiya tomorrow, and WL Saturday

Knowing Stork's personality, he is likely the type who tries to skip out practice, sleep on the toilet, play too much cellphone games during the night ending up sleep deprived before practice. But against Bisu, we are guaranteed to see the two top Protoss practicing their asses off. To them, what is about to happen in the MSL has personal meaning and significance.
I bet for the match against Hiya, Stork will just read the map, do minimal practice and then play some more with his galaxy tab.
I just realized there is a very good chance of having Mind not only make the RO4, but even squeak his way into the finals since his vT is pretty damn solid.

Not that this changes anything i just fellt it was worth pointing out he has a small break. Looking back at he's 2008 he had an insane schedule.
