I really hope Stork learns the basic rules of safety after today games. He has to understand that he was the better player today, but lost because of his stupidity. He has to acknowledge that his PvZ is very good now, and he can play it straight up.

As for Jaedong, he is good in ZvBioT. In the rest he is going according to the flow of meta-game. Nothing special.

Are you fucking kidding me?

LOOOOOOOL. Jaedong practically IS the zerg metagame wtf.

Do you know who was the zerg to use the 6 hatch hydras build in zvp (the build from game4)?
What about the first zerg to play a ultra-less game in ZvMech?

What was the last creative thing, Jaedong did?

How about redefining the ZvZ matchup? Or setting the mutalisk control standard for over 2 years? Or pioneering the use of mutas to snipe high templars in ZvP? Or re-emerging the 2 hatch muta as a viable build to transition from in ZvT? Or being the first zerg to figure out how to slaughter fantasy's quick vulture drop build? Or having the highest ELO of any Zerg? Or beating 2 of the top 3 TvZers in best of 5 sets on one of the worst ZvT map pools at a time when Terrans are killing Zergs left and right?

Didn't Savior do templar snipes before Jaedong, and Jaedong popularized it? Or is it now that he has been caught cheating and is stripped from all his achievements

In Jaedong vs. Stork, who could it be but Jaedong? Sad, I'm such a Stork fan

Honestly, I might get pelted by the fanboys, but I'm really tired of seeing that Finals matchup. Too much of it has really dimished the rivalry and now it's the same old tired TvZ Finals that has been such the trend recently. Not to say TvZ isn't fun and all but when it comes packed with some of the people who whine TvZ IMBA, it just turns into a shitstorm of a thread.

As long as its not a mirror match up theres obviously going to be talk of imbalance if the favored race wins.

I really hope Free beats flash though, mainly cause I want jaedong to win and I don't think he can take flash.

Actually Free has pretty damn good PvZ and has eliminated Jaedong before (believe it was in the MSL). Wouldn't be so sure about wanting that. ;]

Yeah, Jaedong was very vulnerable at PvZ during that time.

I think it was during the time the speedlot timing attack was used.

one can only dream

Isnt platinum mouse 7 OSL's?\

Winning 7 sounds pretty ridiculous, but I think thats what it is.

5 is platinum.

I think the one where you need 7 is diamond mouse (not sure about this, though).

http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/korean/games/8608_BeSt_vs_Jaedong

A few weeks later, you see Savior use them here. http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/korean/games/8961_DaezanG_vs_sAviOr

Then, there are a bunch more examples of JD using them through the year (like vs Bisu on Othello and vs Bisu on Colloseum, vs Chalrenge on Katrina etc.) but it didn't really start to catch on with other zergs until http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/korean/games/10750_Bisu_vs_Jaedong. After that game, it starts to become more common like in http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/korean/games/10952_Bisu_vs_ZerO

As good as Free is at PvZ, he's not as good as Flash is in TvZ. Heck, Flash's TvP is stronger than Free's PvT, his est matchup. On top of that Jaedong was pretty crummy vP back then, and last time they met last year Jaedong crushed him pretty badly. I'd rather jaedong play free than flash

And I would rather have an exciting final. Flash vs Jaedong in OSL would be huuuuge. The final of the finals!

It can't get more epic.

Btw is it just me or has jaedong been really weak to timing attacks lately?

It's not that he's particularly weak against them, it's that they are being used more frequently against JD. The whole purpose of a timing attack against a zerg is to exploit the transition between drone-ing up and building units when minimal defenses won't cut it. The key would be to scout the build or star sense it but most of the time the opponent won't let you scout it. If it is scouted or if it is poorly executed (Game 4), then it becomes easy to shut it down and win the game. It mainly comes down how prepared the player performing the attack is.

What the hell is with all this angst against aggressive zergling play again? Why do some people feel like Jaedong is obligated to play the way they want him to play? This guy plays to win, not to please you. If a zergling attack has a 50% chance of working, then it's gamble. If there is a 75% it will work, hell I'd do it every single game. Why wouldn't you? Because you want to sit there and let the opponent build up his economy so you can give him a easier chance of winning it later? Fuck that, if I can win in the first 5 minutes of every game, you bet your ass I'll do it every single game.

The thing is, at the pro level, it's not even that easy! If Stork skips on cannons (especially after he's scouted the build) then it's his fault. Anything like that just increases the zerg's chances even more. If he defends it, then the zerg is in deep trouble! If anything, aggressive zergling is just another timing attack: hit the opponent when he has minimal defenses and units. If JD had tried it a minute later (Game 5), then I'm sure Stork would've had more than enough zealots to block it.

It's cause the game knowledge of some of the people here is so bad that anything less than 200 / 200 armies being hurled at each other for 30 minutes is either "boring", "lame", or "poor play from the loser"

So true. A lot of terrible players whine about ling runby and early game pressure as if it means the Player doesn't have skill to get to the late game.

Funny enough lots of people hate Kwanro but forget about all the games he 3 hatched b4 pool and crushed someone with great macro. Illusion is reality and all that shit I guess holds up well in SC.

Uh... no, his PvZ was good. He thought he could just roll Free by getting to the lategame with ultralisks and zerglings, and then got destroyed when he let Free sit on a ton of gas forever. The only games he lost in the four months in ZvP preceding that series were to Bisu on Andromeda (game of the ages), Best on Troy, and Sangho on Destination and was 19-5 in that period (including his losses to Free). Good grief Jaedong fans are delusional...

If you want to talk about his crummy ZvP you have to go all the way back to him getting beat by the Rock in the finals of the star challenge, at which point he was 14-14 in ZvP. And then he suddenly discovers how to play ZvP overnight and well... good luck finding a stretch where he has done poorly since.

Yesssssss Jaedong. I hope he wins this OSL pleaseeeeeee! I'm really scared of Flash and Free though. Flash is obviously a beast and has trumped JD in 2 MSLs and Free rapes Jaedong quite a bit as well lol.
