This is one of the more ridiculous misconceptions that has come about, simply as a byproduct of a great winning percentage that doesn't look at all at how the games are played. Light is very good at TvZ no doubt about it but what game has he won since he got Kwanrolled 3-0 that Flash wouldn't have? Light is the epitome of a solid but not great Terran - someone who understands what to do and is able to ride metagame waves (such as the current T > Z one) to success. That's why he's never gone this deep into a league until now (finally got a TvZ run when the matchup metagame/maps have aligned). He hasn't suddenly gotten amazing against Zerg - Light has always been extremely good at digesting a situation and understanding what to do, which is why he was the first Terran to do a lot of things such as win on Battle Royale. But that doesn't make him better at TvZ than the most skilled Terran of all time in his prime. Just look at the Triathlon game against Effort. Once things started to get out of hand, Light started to lose control over the situation. Flash would never have made that stupid "give away 10 Tanks for nothing at a moment when I absolutely need to turtle" move in a million years. It's just one moment but it's representative of the difference between them. First of all, the previous statement is by no means a "ridiculous misconceptions", but a conclusion derived from the provided facts. Light is 28-3 in TvZ ever since his pityful loss against Kwanro, but even if we include that loss it brings Light's TvZ to 28-5 since the beginning of 2010, which most certainly makes him one of the best TvZ'er out there (arguable if the best though). Let's not forget that he's been crushing Calm and Effort on a regular basis in the past 7-8 months. You are giving Light far too little credit for what he's done. Saying that he only does well because he rides the current "metagame wave" is a ridiculous statement by itself. It feels like you're saying "he only seems to be the best because every other terran is doing well, too". Also Light's TvZ has most certainly improved in the past months. At the beginning of the year he only had 52,8% against Z and now he is at 65,4%, which impies that he has got better indeed. At the end, you give one single game as an example of his inferiority to Flash. It might surprise you, but even the best lose sometimes. Nobody is perfect. In the same manner I could just provide an example of games, which Flash threw away: Light would have never lost a series of games to ling busts. At the end, I am not sure which statement you consider a "ridiculous misconception": Light being one of the best TvZ'er or him being better than Flash right now. Either way misconception is used wrong here. In case you meant the latter, then you shall know that an opinion cannot be a "misconception" and comparing Flash's prime to Light's current TvZ is plain wrong since the former poster's statement was about the current state of TvZ, in which Light is doing at least as good as Flash. This being said, Flash's TvZ is delightful to watch, but Light is a beast, too. And arguing, who is better is futile, since both are tearing it up and very close skillwise in this matchup.

At least Jaedong won. TvT semis would've likely been a snooze fest.

Well, actually, that was the Kwanro series in question Of course, I would hope that Light has learned his lesson since then.

He predicted Jaedong's 3 hatch before pool builds perfectly. I think JD would rather go up against Light than Flash despite Light's TvZ record. Flash just has that killer-champion instinct.

Neither Jaedong or Flash are unbeatable by those who played in most of the higher ranks. It's all about the mindgames. If they think they'll lose, they will get crushed. Flash knows he can win against JD, so that is probably the biggest threat.

So many what-ifs, but in the end, it came down to four of Action's zerglings barely slipping by EffOrt's muta spread in the OSL, and I haven't watched his games here but the map pool is a little silly, and by all accounts EffOrt played really well. So basically; dammit. This, of course, is where a Flash fan comes in an makes a snarky remark about the OSL finals. And there's always WCG. Also, the better final is fantasy v. Jaedong, even though Flash is the better player, he and Jaedong haven't really played interesting series, while fantasy/Jaedong is pretty much the most entertaining series possible.

edit: Also, can anyone find a VOD of Sea vs Jaedong set2 that doesn't cut off right after the muta harass?

Do people really think Fantasy would be the same kind of player he is right now if he were playing on any other team? He would just be known as a solid terran with good micro, guaranteed. I feel like as long as you always have the two best players facing each other you have the highest chance of getting an awesome series to watch. I know the last Flash vs JD finals was disappointing but thats more of a fluke than something that would consistently happen if they were to face each other more often. Also doesnt help when Flash keeps playing those 14cc builds and then regardless of what happens it will be a shitty game because either JD goes aggresive and 9 pools and rapes him or Flash just overwhelms him mid/late game.
