It was Hydra, not Crazy-Hydra.

Can someone give me an idea as to how Stats got from that fail DT drop to having a huge zealot/goon/archon army? Switched streams because boes' was behind (and livestream >>> ustream) and he's massively ahead
All I can really tell you about that is that he was forced to make archons when his templars were about to die to a handful of zerglings.
Stats played well. It's just that all his storms were terrible and either missed or hit the own units... Hydra did something wrong, dunno how he could get steamrolled so easily despite the fact that stats harrass failed for the most part.

Nexus before forge, then used his economic opening to build 4 gates before stargate to apply pressure, then added two stargates right after so he could fend off muta and take air control.
It was like the opposite of a usual protoss opening which is Stargate into mass ground. This time it was the gates first, stargates second. Kind of liked it, but I don't know if it's possible without blind nexus first

Hydra did a good job of denying Stats' expansion again and again, but he didn't really get any hits in on Stats' army during that time. He was trading small groups of units for the expansion I guess. Every time he got a hit in he lost something.
