 fantasy played that TvZ exactly like his match against  Jaedong in the proleague playoffs on Outsider. Pure SK terran to control the middle, take expansions aggressively, slowly mass tanks... win. And in fact, he killed several of EffOrt's expos which he couldn't do against Jaedong. But he also lost expos of his own, and that's why that strategy didn't work. Because there were no island-y expos like there are on Outsider, both player's expos were much more vulnerable, and even though fantasy dominated the middle of the map on Fighting Spirit, EffOrt was a able to do a ton of damage with small groups of units in multiple spots, something EffOrt does all the time in ZvP, and is very good at it. In the end game, fantasy simply couldn't get a large enough ball up to support his tanks, and EffOrt was mass expanding, so he couldn't afford to sit back and defend either. Seems like the crucial moment in the game was the guardians, which did just enough damage, and forced fantasy to make wraiths instead of vessels, which hurt fantasy's army strength by increasing increments down the line. | ||
