Pure played too greedy on tech after losing his harassment units. He needed to EITHER lose units harassing for econ damage, OR go with a low unit count for more tech, but not both. Pretty sure with +2 reavers, +1 shuttle & +4 zealots, he would've been fine.
My strategy is to fork people.

Nah, toss is always weak when transitioning to carriers. Flash either knew carriers were coming or just happened to push out at that time.

I think Pure didn't know what he should do with such a greedy Terran. I bet he didn't expect Flash to expand so much, and rather than build up gates + units, he tried to do some reaver harass and expand himself.

Yeah that has to be demoralizing for Pure. Getting up a 12nex, stopping Flash's SCV bunker rush, and then still getting savagely out-macro'd and outplayed.

Though to be fair Flash only brought a few SCVs, and he also killed a good number of probes.

Make no mistake, Flash came out ahead in the early game exchange. Yes flash had a slower cc but as soon as it was completed it was filled with scvs. Even with 2 nexuses it took Pure a significant amount of time to replenish his probe count. This allowed Flash to exploit a timing window that allowed him to skip siege and get a fast third cc and STILL be safe. This wouldnt be possible with a normal fact cc opening. From there he just took all the "safe" bases available on the map (bases relatively close to his main), made a effecient number of scvs, and then macroed perfectly. It's not just a "timing" push. It's a push that uses all the variable and optimal timings available; from the early game, to the midgame, to the endgame...it's perfect macro.

Flash pushed out after Pure lost 2 reavers and 1 shuttle (and 1 shuttle + 4 zealots dropping for some reason). (Technically the shuttle and 1 reaver survived on low hit points, but they were trapped in Flash's base.) And, surprise surprise, Pure didn't have enough units to defend after losing those units.

Did you watch his shuttle harass? He did nothing with it, barely even tried. What else actually happened early game that made you think he did well? Both of them just took bases and made units. First battle of the game Pure gets crushed and GG.
