embarassing performance on both sides
Makes me sad how few people realized that BeSt never had a chance at any time in the game...
yeah seriously its as if people see a big army and just discount everything that has lead to that point and go 'oh surely it must be even now, look best has 3 mining bases and flash has zero, surely he will win!'
nevermind the endless bank flash had from mining out four bases inside 20 minutes and losing barely any units the entire game -_-
I had no clue best could even outexpand after being behind 4 base to 2. I thought the 1o2o3o4o of 3/3 tank army of flash would just ripe him apart effortlessly.
=(
This is my second TvP I've seen since flash vs bisu on medusa in a long time though ... I guess it just always looks like protoss can win .....
it would have torn best apart, if flash had attacked at nearly any point in the game after he killed best's nat. his army was essentially unkillable for the entirety of that snoozer
lol that was more like flash choosing to play badly he pretty much won that game after killing best's nat and decided to be bm and crush best mentally with the nuke which didn't turn out so well but that was not flash turtling and win rather it was flash winning then turtling
If best had made like... any high templar... at all... he might have had a chance. Sitting on his ass and playing for a draw might have worked as well. Flash clumped his shit horribly but stasis doesn't kill anything and a bajillion tanks would get owned by like 1 storm.
Flash wasn't even close to losing, if you think otherwise you need to watch the game again however, BeSt could have easily forced a draw, just waiting for Flash to move out from his high ground.Too bad he didn't, we would be far more excited for the 3rd game.
It's hard as hell to push against a mountain of Arbs and units (and HTs if P is not retarded).
I don't blame Flash for playing the way he did - if you get half the map and don't make a horrible mistake you win 100%. This is the MSL not some random game.
Edit: I will say that Flash did not play well, and he got careless. I think he might have expected that he could keep Best from really making the most of 12 with Nukes which is why he opted to let it happen like this, but that was a mistake as Best basically got that entire base mined out by the end.

d_so are you of the opinion that any of best's recalls were effective in any way? you realize that killing a bunch of turrets and a handful of vultures is never worth an arbiter and two control groups of protoss units right?
im glad you know so much about the game but much of what i say is a recap of the announcer's opinions. at that point of the game, which they just showed on the rewind btw, it really seemed like best would make the comeback.

i still don't get best's strategy early game. all he did was run three zealots because of a fail-wall, there's no way he could've predicted that

Are the scv buffers worth the supply they take up? I really feel like I'd rather have the extra vultures but there must be reason for them.
No, not particularly. But Flash had 1 mining expo at that time so had a glut of excess SCVS. At that point it's either suicide them or put them to some use. Either way is kinda meh.

Best couldnt go for the draw. Terran can try to force a draw, Toss have to attack or get slow pushed to death.
