So... what happened to Light? Can someone offer a plausible explanation as to why he is not getting played this week?

what looked like a possible 3-0 for woongjin turns out to be 3-1 for MBC!
HyuN have been winning some impressive opponents lately.

He has the MSL to prepare for - he had to play against By.Hero in 4 days to try and get into the Ro8. MBC currently is showing quite a bit of strength and depth with Sea playing like the King of Proleague again, Hyun stepping it up and winning against some extremely good players such as Calm, Stork, and Flash, and the others members showing that they can take a game off most team's weaker players with some solid play.

So Light doesn't actually have to play since it won't really put their team into major strife. Compare this to Oz or Stars, who will likely lose 3-0 or 3-1 without their star player. Doesn't explain why Flash is playing considering how well KT is playing thus far, though I guess the kid wants to get the most proleague wins or something.

Movie is one of the best protoss and it will stay that way for quite a while.

That's what people said about Leta. Did he ever do anything spectacular outside of the season and a half in proleague?

That's what people said about Effort, but now, for the second season in a row, he's out of both individual leagues.

There's always going to be people who look like they're on fire, play pretty well, but never climb to the top. Not everyone can be a Jaedong or Flash or Stork or Bisu, just accept it and move on.

Yes, there's still a chance for Movie to become the next big thing, I'm just saying that I don't see it happening. He's not even the "best" Protoss right now, and there's a whole host of people ahead of him.

I hate it when people judge things PURELY by results. Do you watch the games? Can you not see how good Effort is? The leagues are very cutthroat and it only takes one or two bad days to negate three months worth of effort. Even Flash couldn't scratch a RO8 for two straight seasons, which is four leagues (by the way, Movie and Effort have each made a RO8 ... and Leta made two).

Since when did someone have to be JD/Flash/Bisu to be "a top Protoss". Last time I checked there could be more than one.

Results in leagues matter a lot but you have to watch peoples' play as well. Effort dropped OSL and MSL last year by losing to JD/FlashBBS and Calm (the eventual champion) respectively. He dropped OSL this year by losing two ZvZs. His only really bad drop was MSL this year and even that was a tough game against mech on Odd Eye followed by a ZvZ. I would say Effort's the favorite or even against everybody except Flash and JD right now. He's probably only even against Calm, Bisu, Stork, and Zero, and personally I would bet on him against Stork or Zero for sure.

Can't believe people are still labeling Effort a bust after just two seasons. Ridiculous.
effort is a great player and i absolutely agree with all you have to say.

now fantasy on the other hand...

double silvers man
CLOSE loses in the OSL finals vs Stork and Jaedong

i find that VERY difficult to fault
his play may be faulty from time to time but then again WHO'S ISNT

we all know that when fantasy is in his A game he's untouchable

now effort on the other hand

Fantasy is on his A game when his zerg opponents didn't know to how defeat mech build or protoss that didn't know how to counter his vulture drop harass. Now that his opponents know how to counter his strategies, he is not good as he was once held up to be. The great players are those that can adapt throughout the changes in Starcraft strategies, Fantasy is not one of them. In a recent interview, his M&M play has been called abysmal.

Though no Jaedong, Effort has to carry his team in ace. In zvz, its hard to fault him for those lost due to the rock, paper, scissors of the matchup. Unlike Fantasy, Effort has been consistent for the players they are.

he has one bad month and you jump down his throat. It takes time to adapt man. It takes time to solve whats wrong and figure out a solution. I hate people who use 1-2 weeks of results to call a player good or bad.
