There is still an obstacle on Flash's path, and a pretty big one: Jaedong.
Jaedong is going to win both leagues this season.

No way is Jaedong a favorite over Flash. Jaedongs ZvT is his worst matchup too.

No way is Flash a favorite over Jaedong. Jaedong is the best starcraft player in the world.

Wth??

Srsly?

Atm Flash is without a doubt the best player in the world bar none.

Jaedong has dropped to many games to people he shouldnt have lost in the first place(in his JvZ matchup to boot) while flash has just been tearing it up all over the place.

The problem with what you're saying is that Flash hasn't been "tearing it up" against Protoss. Flash admits this, and his record against good protoss hasn't been good. There isn't a matchup right now that JD really has a problem with unless you really want to read a lot into the losses in what has traditionally been a very volatile matchup.

Jaedong vs Flash is a 50/50.

Jaedong might have dropped a couple of games but he's still very beastly when it comes to games that matter.

Flash is looking good in TvZ. But most if not all of his victims weren't of his equal skill level. Yarnc could have been a good test if he hadn't been slumping like shit.

At the moment, Flash is looking ridiculously good. But that doesn't mean he's the best. I'm not a Flash hater, in fact I really love watching him play.

Making anyone a favorite over Jaedong in a BO5, where he could prepare, is kinda stupid. He just stopped losing thse a few years ago ^^. Last season he had OSL + MSL to prepare for and won the more important game, the other he lost was GOM which, sadly, isn't worth much.

Flash is probably the only one right now that could beat JDy, but I wouldn't go over 50/50 chance.

I will go out on a limb and say that EffOrt has better ZvT than Jaedong. Perhaps he doesn't have the confidence or experience to win a series againt an S-Class player like Flash but I find myself much more impressed with his ZvT than the dongs.

Jaedong even hints that EffOrt is better in the mu during the MSL group selection.

maybe, but if he keeps losing ZvZs like this... he can't even advance now can he?

edit: also lol remember when, in the words of the PR, "Jaedong is ZvT"? (though I guess it would be "was" now)

That was when Jaedongs ZvP was considered terrible. Not really relevant anymore.

Uhh...Flash hasn't conclusively proven his TvP against the six dragons right now, and Jaedong's ZvZ is inconsistent as well. It's just that Jaedong plays more zergs that can ZvZ than Flash plays protoss that can PvT. Last time Flash took a victory against the six dragons that mattered was against Kal, in February.

But in the other MUs, Flash edges Jaedong out a bit because he's been so stable. This month, they're on par, but that would be disregarding their recent months beforehand.

For me it seems that Jaedong is simply training more for individual leagues than for pl. that's why is undefeated in both OSL and MSL while he is 8-5 in pl

Really don't know what to make of Jaedong vs Flash at the moment. Flash's TvZ looks invincible lately, HOWEVER, if there is one person that you can always count on to absolutely ruin someone they are supposed to lose to in a series, it's Jaedong. Just ask Fantasy.

Can't say he's played any proven good players in the OSL and MSL though. go.go, pusan, crazyhydra. The only semi-proven good player he's beaten is Stats. But it was on the zerg campy map.

Also, damn it, type-b better beat Flash... comeon upsets!!!

Wow, group A is gonna be so unmotivated to deliver any good games. go.go and Pusan are out so I hope both guys just cheese to make it interesting. I have to say, I am not that impressed with movie's wins here. Both wins came from cheese and rushes. Hope to see some standard an motivated play vs. Jaedong.

I really wouldn't mind Flash beating Jaedong. When these two play all I want are awesome games (unlike when Bisu plays which I just want to see getting humiliated :p).

But calling anyone a favorite over Jaedong in an important SERIES is just not very realistic.

In a BO1 i would probably favour Flash, in a BO3 or 5? No way.

I would say go.go is a lot more proven than Stats, even if everyone dislikes him.
Zero fighting.

JD vs Movie should still matter. It needs to be played in order to determine who finishes 1st and who finishes 2nd in the group, because I think that the ones who finished 2nd in their group will go on to meet someone who finished 1st in their group in the Ro8.
