that fact that he got destroyed does mean shit. at least someone like pj would put up a decent fight

Erm, a foreigner in his worst matchup vs the 2 best protosses ever... what fucking more do you want from a 14 year old kid?

the fact that it's his worst matchup or 14 yr old doesnt rly matter here... he's just another semi finalist, so he is expected to play like one, and i think everyone who saw the games must have thought 'OMG how can that guy be in the semi finals'... The games were just that bad... I think most top foreigners would put up a better fight....

like.. ret did vs jeadong e.g

`
ret was inactive at that moment and not a top foreigner... ret vs nada would be more like it, that was when ret was active... draco hasnt been a top foreigner either for a long time so not sure why someone mentioned that...
not sure why you guys defending him so much, i think he should be able to take some criticism and be realistic after all he also was in that being b- in 5 months topic... Have to say i also thought he was a troll so yea thats damn impressive for sure and he's surely one to look out for in the future, but i dont know why ppl are making excuses for the games sucking... it was just a subpar performance and it woulda been more fun if a top foreigner filled the spot instead...

well the top foreigner you're talking about LOST to koll, why do you think he would have fared better against Stork/Bisu?

Honestly watch Idra vs Stork game 1 at IEF and you'll have your answer

I'm not even slightly surprised Kolll pulled upsets. Germany and Scandinavia has historically always had very good Starcraft players and the general e-sports level is very high in various games here.

That brings me back to the old topic that Europeans are creative and Asians just copies and refines :O . But I will not confirm that theory it would just start flame wars ^_^

Because IdrA has put up good games against Stork (not sure about Bisu) in the past?

I cant imagine many foreigners right now who would have had a better chance against bisu/stork.
Maybe you are right, that the games were ugly but..

Mondragon lost to stork in a pretty similiar fashion, too. In terms of chance he had in the game and how bad he got raped..

I dont know.. I just find it sad. This young guy played som good throughout the tournament made 2nd place in the hardest groups of all ( possibly ) beat all good foreigners in his group except for draco..

I really want to know which foreigner u think would have done better against bisu or stork..

I mean surviving as long as kolll did on its own is okey..

You can just not expect any foreigner ( especially not kolll ) got out there and have a close game against bisu or stork..

But lets just leave it at that..

Kollls games vs stork and bisu were all weak and I was dissapointed as well but for me the more important thing is what he achieved.. and losing to Bisu and stork is no problem..

in what fashion.. okey.. that was a pretty ugly defeat twice..

never the less amazing run by kolll !

From a pure entertainment perspective I think it would've been more fun if Idra had made it through. Watch his first game against Stork in IEF; he was quite close to actually outplaying the best PvT'er of all time. He's the foreigner (excluding the chinese) who has the best chance of going toe to toe against high level Koreans without being humiliated. I think it's very cool and impressive that Koll beat Idra 2-0, though. I really want to see those games. He sure has a great future as a SC player if he keeps up the good work. Go Koll!

idra's first game in ief wasn't even close. For us and any chobo spectator it looked close, but in progaming terms its utter rape in every aspect. Any semi pro and decent amateur in korea can play this way.

way more interesting than idra losing to koll (lol) to me is advokate taking an impressive game off of jaedong. really solid play, he used a build similar to the goliath/mm one flash used a little while back.

taking a game off the best player in the world deserves kudos!

The minedrag certainly speed things up but the push will not work anyway. Idra lost his timing long ago from being behind in cheese. Stork timed his arbiter and gateways for any immediate fastest 6 fac push in midgame. Its the same situation as fantasy v stork osl final game 2, but that fantasy only lost a bit of timing, idra lost a lot more.

So...were Tasteless/Artosis casting these games, and, if so, can English VODs be found of them?

I dunno why are you guys discussing Koll instead of A2. Really, who hasn't won Idra nowadays? But taking a straight long game from Jaedong who's top-1 Kespa with ELO so high it's not even funny is a big achievement. Even considering that A2 is quite an oldschool and Koll is new young talent and what's not.

You're a complete fucking tool. Look at Idra's record against foreigners the past year. He won ESWC, ESL, Valor, SC2GG Starleague, got to the final in ASL, won WCG USA, won the Nostalgia group in the Nostalgia tourney, got third place in IEF (with only Koreans before him). He's without any doubt the best foreigner (excluding the chinese).
