you lost a few expos, but he lost a lot more. you will always be trading expos in a good game. always send vults to the top left and bottom right expos on python - P's always take them You stacked 3k minerals late game - not so good. just stack 5 vults on all your non-tank factories. ok so the expo that got zealotted, it was down-ramp. theres not much you can do to stop it. probably the easiest thing is to plant some mines there, and if he attacks, flee the scvs and lift CC. bring reinforcements to kill zealots, and bring the scvs and cc back once done. if you commit too many units to defending that expo, P will simply attack another one if it was up-ramp, you can block the ramp with mines and depot-depot-rax as normal and some tanks. P will probably dropship in though so beware. I think that when you had P contained, you should have pushed in on his base a bit more. just creep the tanks forward until you're hitting his nat nexus. your game was still pretty good and I was suitably impressed - certainly better than D level. | ||

i also agree about a slow push into his nat, that would have destroyed his economy and ability to break the contain (if hes forced to back up the ramp, he'll have a hard time attacking your push from his main) when deciding how to defend your expansions, a good knowledge of where your opponents forces are is invaluable imo, scanning / scv scouting takes pretty good care of that. this game there were no need to defend them imo if you had scouted a little bit more, trading expansions like you did were more damaging to him i think well played! | ||

In MOST of cases , if u have an hidden expo running for enough time to have a decent army : 1) he will send few units on it so few vults will be enough 2) He send his whole army or most of his army : here is a strategical choice : or u accept to lose it and u counter him totally (usually it works greats cause it will be very hard for him to set his troops in decent formation , means he will lose a lot more than u will ) or u help this expansion with all your army and then wait more troops to attack him . In others cases (it means u prolly suck) : U made an expo with a lame macro and could never be able to afford it ( to defend it or to counter him) U started a lame camping puting mines and turets everywhere you expanded ,but cause u spread your troops p will have map control and u will have to wait an huge army to attck him, which means by this time he will have a lot of money and worst , high technology : big recalls in main/expo and/or massive carrier force.. | ||

edit. in tvp when you push doesnt your push cover your expos? Also when you contain you shouldnt mass expo cause it sort of stretches your defense thin. While containing you should scout whole map making sure he hasnt sneaked expos. I didnt watch the rep though so i dont know which map. | ||
