was experimenting with retro-walls and found some really really good anti-zealot walls.

this is for kespa-era expansion style, with third hatchery at a second natural, so you can get the second main for free with your 6th hatch.

for every wall showed here, hydra den can be replaced with evo chamber and still be zealot-tight, and gas won't be affected at all. you would initially wall with 1 hatch + 1 den (or 1 hatch + 1 evo) at a base, then morph an evo to complete the wall once you see the +1 zealot timing coming at 7:00 with your overlord/lings/scourge

But you cant get out except for top left one.

The classic is horizontal hatch den hatch to have hydras getting out while zels cant get in.

You have sizes here: (Wiki)List of Unit and Building Sizes

With that you dont have to do ingame tests for buildings but only for terrain edges, it can be different per map.

Example: hydra is 21 wide and 23 height, while zel is 23 and 19, this means vertical walls will never be zel tight where hydra can get out, but in horizontal any gap 22 or 21 will let hydra through but not zel.

So link two buildings together and addup their touching sides offset numbers.

Note: a fully diagonal link uses two sides (4 numbers).

i meant for these walls to be temporary, where you’d morph the evo when needed and cancel before it finishes… or just let the evo complete and kill later when your hydras outmasses the zealots…

for zealot-proof walls that hydras can go through, i think i have a solution for the other 3 bases, will post them soon

only thing is that you'd need two hydra dens if you were to expo kespa-era style, unless there is another practical way other than hydra den to the left or right of a hatchery?

Hmm, is there a good wall for bottom left where the hatch is on the same side as the ramp? Usually there is a little bit of time where there's not a den or evo depending on the build. Zealots will have a straight shot to the ramp

you would have to use a hydra den to the left of the hatchery, and could complete the wall with a temporary evo on top touching the gas for the 7:00 zealot push. if you want to expo kespa-era style, you'd have to use hatch+evo on the adjacent bases
