The "Stargate Opening Into +1 Speedlot/Archon Attack". After a bit I reasked in the simple questions thread. There is a wiki article on it i suppose ("Stargate Opening Into +1 Speedlot/Archon Attack"), but I am referring to the build referred to in OP. It's the 2nd case after +1 sair/speedlots. Supposedly the opponent of Savior uses it in the video (52:00 video start time) so the BO is whatever he does I suppose. There seems to be a difference since OP recommends 6hatch hydra response to "Stargate Opening Into +1 Speedlot/Archon Attack" but staying on 3 bases as 5hatch hydra vs 4gate/2archon. | ||

The 4 Gate/2 Archon build skips the Stargate completely and leads to a timing attack that thwarts 6 Hatchery play. That's why I recommended staying on 5 Hatcheries against it. If Protoss opens with a Stargate, there is no such timing attack, and you can go to up to 8 Hatcheries safely. Shalashaska_123 | ||

Well certainly if stargate is skipped, archons come out faster. I was just confused because you refer to 4gate/2archon it as the "bible build" which typically assumes building one corsair to scout before the timing attack occurs. The presence of the stargate is consistent with the video example of the build as well as the wiki article. The bible build guide ( http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/bw-strategy/84601-pvz-4-gate-2-archon ) also makes a stargate in the core build. I think wc3jjj's guide on 3spire into 5hydra also assumes stargate before citadel. If they only make one corsair vs no stargate, the timings are only delays a little bit right. 6hatch is potentially still vulnerable. | ||
