CJ only has to go 5-0 against Hite, Oz, T1, STX, and one other team to win! There's almost no point in rooting for any team other than T1 or STX.

It's ok, nobody cares about STX masters. It's basically exhibition matches. Remember Hyuk doing a 3 kill last year? Crazy business.

First of all, it's a Bo7 all-kill format so it would be 4-0, not 5-0.
Second, with Jaedong, Oz stands a pretty decent chance.
Third, you can ignore what I just said cuz regardless, T1 is gonna win it anyways
Oh god this is hilarious. Very subtle STX, very subtle.
Although all-kill doesn't favor STX, strangely enough. I don't see why they didn't go all the way and make it a standard bo9 if they wanted to host a rigged tourney. xD

I think he means they have to go 5-0 in team-wins, not game-wins.

? they have to win 5-0 to win the whole thing
oh ok. For a second there I had my hopes up for a Bo9 T_T
Wow... like JWD said, T1 and STX have it easiest, but OZ, CJ and hite could all make runs really, depends on how their players feel.
Imagine eSTRO running the tables in this? XD
EDIT: BTW, so much for an off-season. WCG Korea, This, Starleague semifinals/finals, qualfiers likely all in August. I'd really hate to be a top player at this point, absolutely no reprieve anymore.
Honestly with players not taking this too seriously I can see Flash taking KT a pretty long way (I see Flash as the player who's the most likely to win games that aren't prepared for ... him or JD/Bisu at least). But it's not like players won't prepare at all and he has GOM finals so maybe not.
I would really really like to see a team do a beast run (like 7th to 1st or 5th to 1st or something) just to make this actually interesting in the end. I feel like this is the only scenario that would generate enough pride/team spirit to make teams actually care.
WOW what is the deal with the format? I mean it isn't an official tournament or anything... But it doesn't really give every team an equal chance at winning and practice :O

And T1 has to play the day before their match vs STX, so they don't even get much practice time. Super rigged and unfair, but at least it will probably give us some good games, and that's what matters the most to me.

Basically they have the last place of PL play vs second last, winner of that vs third last, etc. all the way until #1. After which the one who gets to the final game gets to play against STX the very next day after the last game. Basically STX completely rigged the format so that they'd have the best chances to win.

Except SKT'll probably end up crushing them in the finals. It is All kill format isn't it?
wow, extremely rigged. but by that it will be even more embarrassing for stx to not win it as they will get crushed by whoever they face. skt1 has 2 absolute s-class players and 2 additional strong guys ... and boxer and oov! i really dont see any1 besides jaedong oz or kt flash finger boom beating them in an all-kill series. stx just lacks top-notch players.
I dont get why people are so mad. non-KESPA-sanctioned tourney that offers up some good allkill action from teams we otherwise wouldnt get to see play for another month and a half. The last 2 STX cups were way fun to watch.
oh yea, this tournament is real fair. estro needs to win like 10 matches to win the cup while STX only needs to win one. oh well, can't complain about more starcraft

It would be way less fair the other way around. This is like calling pl playoffs unfair because there are seeds.

Will this be streamable, or will we need to wait for uploads? Im unsure of where to watch most events other than GOM =\
Despite my nonexistent ability to read Korean, a look at the OGN site said that they have nothing lined up for the 18:00 timeslot . I'm not sure where the MBCGame broadcast schedule is on their site though.

Agreed. It's not a huge deal who wins, it's not like it's Proleague. The format is rigged, sure, but the games should be fun to watch and it gives players that didn't make it into the playoffs or individual leagues a chance to play some games.
I'm actually happy that CJ is near the middle of the group, just means there are more possible games to watch CJ, while on the other hand we only will see STX play once.
this will be great matches and gives a chance for new players or veteran players that we havnt seen like for ages to play no need to root for the first teams since they have virtually no chance unless u'r a fan of course so much fun this is winner league format makes the all kill much more fun oz for the win lol want to see players like sea play and luxury god havnt seen him since his msl win and stx has a very good chance of course the best chance since they'll be fresh and have a great team
