I did a little TL-search and didn't find anything on the topic, so:
I stumbled across this sms-ringtone/signal last night which I found particularly awesome. It's probably been around for ages and some of you might already have it, but I thought I'd be nice enough to share anyway.

If you're too lazy to check it out, it's basically a 2 second clip of the classic "Receiving Incoming Transmission" from the magistrate in the terran campaign. I found it a fitting sms signal for TLers.
Hey, could someone please reupload the file somewhere else? Im only able to browse the web with a phone browser right now, which means that i cant get it from megaupload, because this mobile browser doesnt like megaupload because of those letter/number things you have to type in before you can download so i cant get it from there. (sorry about grammar but its hard to type on a phone)

i prefer nerdy ring tones that dont make it obvious your a huge nerd, except for other nerds around you.
For example my current sms noise is the codec sound from metal gear solid, to everyone else, its just a normal two rings... But every MGS fan hears it instantly and gives me props .
If i was going for a sc sound, i'd probably go for the probes 'meow' ^^

Lol, you got SMS and security tackles you down. Rofl, not worth it
For the people who don't know this yet: If you run this program, a sound directory will be created in your starcraft dir and all the starcraft sounds will be extracted in there in *.wav form. If your phone doesn't support wav you can download a free wav to mp3 converter and have any starcraft sound you want on your phone. Have fun.

Last time I checked, my friend still uses that as his ringtone. Also, his alarm is a billion tanks sieging followed by dragoons dying. Yes, he's a protoss player.

OMG Thank you Sir! The probe 'meow' is a very tempting prospect.
Good Idea. I think, that parts of the terran music can be good for ringtones. How can i get the music tracks? Maybe with a tool, that extracts them from the .mpq file. (I can record them with sound recorder, but the quality won't be the best).

Yeah, I use this for voice mail messages. I use a series of Terran Civilian quotes for standard calls (Hey there(select 1)...Howdy(select 2)...How y'all doing?(select 4)...What's up?(select 3)...How y'all doing?...How'd I get here?(newly produced)).

I recently discovered myxer.com If you have any sound or mp3, you can upload it, crop a section of it out, and send it to your phone as a picture message for free. Then you can save the sound in your ringtones. I've been putting nerdy things in there, but nothing SC yet (though the BC one is a good idea.)
Is there ability for the "slide" phones - to set your own sound for opening/closing the slide. And the tank siege/unsiege sound would be great for that.
I used the 24 ringtone for quite some time but then I noticed some other people using it.... soooo this will definitely replace my current standard sony erikson sms-beep.

Alternatively, if you don't feel like wasting harddrive space with hundreds of .wav files, you can use a program like WinMPQ to extract them from stardat.mpq (or broodat.mpq) yourself.
Right now I'm using the android app zedge, it has a ton of starcraft ring tones and SMS notifications for download. Right now I've got plaguuuuu, receiving incoming transmission, "you must construct additional pylons", "your warriors have engaged the enemy", with a good 50 or so more on the app.
I use the SC1 campaign adjutant "Receiving incoming transmission" for incoming phone calls and the SC2 battlecruiser "Receiving transmission" for incoming texts and other notifications.
