I read this a couple years ago - a lot of it is self help-y motivational writing, but the parts about BoxeR's early progaming career and the development of the proscene are just fascinating. This translation is such an excellent project...thank you OP!

Thank you! Very good read. So many good quote. Amidst all the hype of their play, we often overlook the human aspect of progamers and I think the book illustrates that facet perfectly.
This is just staggering.. We all know the development of esports in Korea and Boxer's legendary rise are so incredible, so the translation of a whole book charting these things is a truly amazing contribution not only to the Starcraft esports scene but to esports in general. 3333

I looked up the terminologies of Starcraft such as ‘zealot’ with the English-Korean dictionary that I had never used, and I fell completely into its world, saying things like, ‘Need more minerals’ when lunchtime drew near.
I'm confused... I read this over two months ago. Why is it just being posted now? It was definitely interesting, and the effort is welcome, I am just curious as to why it is being posted now as if it was just translated.

Because only now has it been 100% completed. Over the past two years more and more has been added, but only now is it completely done.
I've read parts of it months ago, too, and I remembered it took lots of control to stop myself from reading the english so I can read it in korean when I got it. Its very interesting, and unfortunately for me, my korean skills were too bad for me to try and keep reading the korean... Maybe I will get back to reading your interesting english translation after school is out. (1-3 days XD)

I just started reading the book. Its funny how one of the reasons boxer switches from protoss to terran because the reaver AI became stupid and reaver drop was his favorite build.

I got the link from a friend years ago and have checked in once a month or so since then to see if there were any updates. It has always been very exciting every time there were an update and it is very exciting to finally be able to read it all.

Yes, Boxer is the one who made me realize that progamers are as much human as anyone else and in many way they are more humane than a lot of professional athletes. They also put so much into their games, it is very impressive. That alone makes progaming more professional than some sports.

DONE! Man that was an interesting book! I couldn't believe I had actually read the biography of a professional Starcraft Broodwar player.. But I did. First biography ever, and I really loved the fact that he mentioned Dalgas, because I have walked in the forests of Dalgas. Great book!

Thanks for bumping this. I have been rereading it today. It speaks to me much more strongly than the first time I went through it.
A lot of people came into StarCraft seeing the scene in flight. Even if they considered themselves unfortunate to be on the downswing of the scene, it is nothing like it was when it was being built from the ground up. In the context of SOSPA, Lim Yo Hwan's struggle to realise his passions and do what he wanted with his life is especially thought provoking. I'm very grateful this was published. There are a number of other player's whose biographies I'd also have enjoyed seeing.
