Daezang to be finish his military duties soon - ACE's most charismatic Sergeant
"I don't have anything specially planned, but I intend to continue being a progamer."

Fomos' 30 questions 30 answers has now reduced to 20 questions 20 answers (20/20) for further improvement. 30/30's 'season 2', 20/20's first interviewee, Woongjin Stars' 'Young Prince' (Z)ZerO, who was chosen by 30/30's last interviewee, (Z)by.hero, chose ACE's (P)DaezanG, as he was curious about his life in ACE. We (Fomos) also intend to return to 30/30's interviewees as well for 20/20.

▶ Soon to end his military duties, we are curious about ACE's Daezang's life in the army.

1. In your stay in ACE, what is the match you remember the most?
▲ Last year, when I was a dual-leaguer (T/N: Qualified for both OSL and MSL), I lost to (T)Sea even when I had over a dozen carriers, and I was filled with regrets. That match was the final match, and I think it'll remain in my mind for the longest time.

+ Show Spoiler [The game] +

2. Who do you think will lead ACE in the future?
▲ Everyone in ACE have the potential, so it's hard to point out just one person.

3. Then do you think there will be anyone from ACE who can win an individual league, or at least get into the semifinals?
▲ It's very much possible.

4. (P)fOru, (P)Rage and (T)Sunny have all finished their military duties. Anything you want to say to them?
▲ Buy something delicious to eat, and let's play soccer? keke

5. Your thoughts on (T)RuBy and (T)DarkElf, who will be joining ACE soon?
▲ It's a lot different from what I thought of them the first time, but I believe they will adjust well to the military life and play well too.

6. Anything fun happened recently with your teammates?
▲ We all knew each other before we joined the military, so I think living together is already fun keke. Hmm.. there's nothing special but... what about (Z)YellOw and (Z)GoRush's different expressions based on their mood? ^^

7. Being the youngest in ACE for the longest time, what was your greatest difficult moment?
▲ Hmm…… I think I was poor in my mental state as well as my playing skills, and it felt like such a long time…… if I got a successor, then due to the large gap between (our ranks and age), I might have had a much more enjoyable time in ACE, so I'm slightly disappointed with that.

8. How long do the ACE members often practice?
▲ It's usually around 8 hours, but we don't practice exactly according to our schedule. If we feel that we still lack practice, we will practice even more.

9. After ending your military duties, what do you intend to do? Will you continue being a progamer?
▲ I don't have anything specially planned, but I intend to continue being a progamer.

10. Who do you want to be the next interviewee, and what is your question?
▲ KT's (P)Violet. With your recent winning streak as well as strong performance, what is your secret to playing so well?

▶ Fans are curious about these!

1. GoRush got disqualified after typing 'a' in the chat. How did you feel at that point of time? (T/N: This issue)
▲ GoRush made a mistake and was disqualified, but I saw him practicing the day before, and because he lost without even being able to show anything, I felt very disappointed.

2. You were hailed 'The Reaver God' after your game against (T)Really. How did you feel?
▲ Actually, during the game, I did not check my reaver's kill count, and I was surprised after I checked the kill count later on, for which I was very happy about.

3. Your secret for great reaver micro?
▲ It has to be 'focus'. As long as one is focused, everything will work out well.

4. When you played against (Z)sAviOr on Shin Peaks of Baekdu, what thoughts came into your mind?
▲ Hmm.. it's quite an old match... ... At that point of time, I was playing with lots of confidence, so when my opponent defended well and I was unable to break his defense by just a little bit, I was quite filled with regrets.

5. During MSL, (Z)Silver built a hatchery in your main. How did you feel?
▲ My mind became a blank and I could only let out a sigh... ...

6. In your life as a progamer, when was your most difficult period?
▲ It was when ACE was in a long losing-streak... ... I did not really mind about the losing streak, but we couldn't show what we could do in the practice room, so it was very difficult.

7. Then, personally speaking, when do you think was your peak period?
▲ It was before I entered the army, when I was on a winning streak against Terrans, defeated Zergs in the MSL and our team got into the playoffs. Although our opponents made a comeback and won ㅠㅠ

8. Do you have a girlfriend? If you don't, then what is your ideal girl?
▲ I do not have a girlfriend, and my image of an ideal girl keeps changing, but recently, it's the 'cute style'.

9. Which progamer are you closest to?
▲ They are everyone from Woongjin and ACE, whom I have lived together with.

10. Who do you think is playing the best right now?
▲ I think that (Z)Jaedong, (P)Bisu and (T)Flash are the best players from each of the races.

Nice.

Always liked Daezang, wish we'd see more of him. Hopefully he can do well when he goes back to Woongjin.

Thank you for the translation

But that interview seemed to have shattered the myth of the reduced practice time for ACE players.
ACE players, according to Daezang, are practicing 8 hours or more a day. That's close to all the other Proleague teams. Unless I'm missing something and the practice hours were increased for ACE or something at one point.

Wow, don't the koreans get tired of asking to players what their secret to playing well is? We all already got that there is no "secret", just practice really really hard. That must be the most generic question ever.
Anyways, great interview, thanks a lot!

While I unfortunately do not know about his pre-ACE career (I started following professional StarCraft quite late), I have grown to respect him and I wish him the best of luck in his post-ACE progaming career. I certainly hope his performance will not be as abysmal as that of Boxer.

I do feel sorry for ACE, however. With this, they are losing one of their top players.

Iirc limited practice time isn't (or wasn't) the problem, but rather the lack of practice partners.

Well, I'd say it's not that much compared to some teams. IdrA stated in his interview that CJ practice 12 hours a day, not including practice on your own (and I'd guess a lot of other teams have similar schedules), so in comparison ACE probably have the least practice time.

Nice to see an interview with DZ, I really like him. Good to see he plans on continuing with progaming, he might give stars a boost when he gets out.

Oh. I see. I remembered reading something about estro practicing for 8 hours though.Maybe it was the practice partners that caused ACE problems.

Daezang is the man! Too bad he didn't have the multitasking needed to make his builds as popular as Bisu did.

Thanks for the translation Konadora!
