I've been running SC on XP, Vista, and W7 and have had it work fine on each. The only difference is what sort of crazy colors I see outside of games, in games it's always fine. yeah for the first few months of owning 7 I thought this as I was not getting any freezes under Windows 7 at all. But within the past month I've had it happen like five times, which is too much for me. Now I run a dualboot setup with XP and 7. That seems as though it's a recent change, not something that you just randomly avoided until now given the sudden frequency.

![]() To top it off, my launcher will not launch the damn game in windowed mode, so I can't even fix it by doing that. Tells me to reinstall Iccup launcher, but that doesn't help at all -_-. Anyone find any solution that works when none of this already posted doesn't?

Now when you wish to play start SC by clicking the file you created, it kills explorer until you stop playing. You can also create a shortcut of the file and make it look like SC so it looks prettier. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm about to go play SC all day so if I crash I'll edit this post with a something like 'fuck my life', if this is still here then it's working. If you need help with any of the steps please post the question here and you might want to pm me. What do we replace in D:\"SC"\"Launcher"\"Launcher.exe"

Yeah, that worked fine for me. Can't remember if I needed to set the affinity to 1 CPU (after its loaded, alt-tab out, go to Task Manager -> Right Click the exe in Processes -> Set affinity) like I've had to do for several other old games lately like Thief 1 and TA: Kingdoms.

Seven + BW + Winamp = crash. When I'm lucky, I can play one game before crashing the game. Without it, no problem since 6 months. ^^

Don't think that this step is required, at least not for me. BW has been running like charm <3 On July 01 2010 02:40 Lysteria wrote: Be sure to not have winamp started when playing BroodWar. I know you can listen music while playing Starcraft with Windows Media Player, VLC, probably nearly everything, even a selfmade player. Winamp is the only one on my computer which can crash it. If someone knows why, I'm interested.

The only workaround is using window mode with chaoslauncher or iccup launcher
