+ Show Spoiler [Interview with GoRush] +GoRush: "I will make sure our team gets our winning rate to 50%." "I am glad to start off what would be today's win." Air Force ACE's GoRush defeated hyvaa in their match against eSTRO, held on the 3rd of May at the Yongsan e-Sports Indoor Stadium. The following is the interview with GoRush. - You have successfully won your first game since your entry into ACE. ▲ I am happy that the team won. I feel even more valued since I started off what would be our team's win today. - Your previous loss must have been very disappointing. ▲ Content-wise, it was very disappointing. The coaches and my senior-ranked officers had high expectations of me, but I lost helplessly without being able to do anything, so I felt very upset and disappointed. - You seemed to have adjusted to the team very quickly. ▲ It is still too early to judge on that. I will look to wait and see a bit longer, but I don't think I became weaker (in Starcraft) after my return from the training academy. I did not feel much different before and after the training. I only took a long break from gaming so I will have to work harder, but that is not really a big problem. - Your micro today was great. ▲ It was a situation where I could fight to my advantage. I killed his overlord with my scourge and my opponent could not build additional units, that's why it seemed my micro was better. I don't think I can micro to my fullest ability on stage yet. - The addition of you and XellOs seems to be going to be of great help. ▲ When we were still out in the society, we were once in the same team and have even attended the same school together so we are quite close to each other. I think we will be great comrades as we live our army life together. As long as Xellos does his job when he joins our team, we would get along well (laughs). Even regarding the game itself, we know each other well so we would be of great help. Xellos is the one who gave me the greatest help when I won my MSL title. - Any future targets? ▲ I saw our team's record, and it was 5 wins 33 losses. We need to quickly get 28 wins and get our winning rate over 50%. I told my fans that I'll be the first player from ACE to win a Starleague title, and although I am still lacking, I will try my hardest as the mindset of a challenger is beautiful. - Any final words? ▲ I lost so helplessly in my first match, but I was given another chance by my coach, so I am thankful for that. Today's strategy was used by Sergeant OversKy when he first played on Battle Royal and won, and it was because he taught me that strategy that I won today. Also, I won today also because Private YellOw helped me with practice. I want to say thanks to everyone.
+ Show Spoiler [Interview with Daezang] +Daezang: "I am confident that I will not lose without being able to do anything anymore." "I can feel the positive change in our team's morale." Air Force ACE's DaezanG defeated Really in their match against eSTRO, held on the 3rd of May at the Yongsan e-Sports Indoor Stadium. The following is the interview with Daezang. - Your thoughts on your first win of Round 4? ▲ It is the fact that winning makes one happy. I had prepared builds but as the game progressed, I just played impromptu. I dealt a lot of damage early on, so my reaver was able to harass as it pleased. I got my first win happily, so I feel great. - You kept your reaver alive until the game ended. ▲ I just left it there without any special thoughts. I had to load my high templars into the shuttle, so I just left it behind. - Your reaver performance was breathtaking. ▲ I destroyed his supply depot early in the game so my opponent was unable to defend from the reaver. I chose to tech to reaver without an expo, which was why I was able to do damage, but it turned out that I did way more damage than I thought. - How is your team's recent morale? ▲ There is definitely a positive change in our team's atmosphere, and everyone's skills are improving. With the way things are looking, we can even start winning continuously. - You did not get sent out a lot because of Reach and Anytime. ▲ Before their entry into ACE, I was in complete charge of the Protoss line up so there were times when I was forced to play even when I lacked practice. That is why I accumulated a lot of stress, and I begged my coach to let me rest. During my resting period, I slowly regained my skills, and all that is left now is to show what I have achieved. - Your outlook into Round 4 and 5? ▲ Our team is performing well recently, so even if we lose, there won't be games where we lose helplessly. Regardless of which team we are facing, we expect a fierce battle. We are greatly looking forward to the new recruits (GoRush, Xellos, Ruby, Darkelf), so I believe we will continue to get better. - Any words to show your determination for the rest of your matches? ▲ I am consistently practicing well, so regardless of when I get sent out, I will do my best to win.
+ Show Spoiler [Interview with Anytime] +Anytime: "I finally feel like I have recovered from my slump." "I will work even harder to perform better." Air Force ACE's Anytime defeated SangHo in their match against eSTRO, held on the 3rd of May at the Yongsan e-Sports Indoor Stadium, sealing his team's victory. The following is the interview with Anytime. - You have successfully ended your 7-game losing streak. ▲ During my losing streak, I felt as though I was in a slump. I felt really frustrated, and I did not feel happy most of the time. I was in despair during practice, but ever since my game against fantasy, I changed my mindset and started all over again. I lost disappointingly that time, but I could feel my game sense coming back to life. I prepared a strategy that will definitely work and help me win, and I won because it worked well. I feel glad to have won after so long. - You played when the score was 2:1 in your favor. Did you feel pressured? ▲ Personally, I have a lot of experience playing and winning when the score was 2:1 in my favor, both when I was in Hwaseung and in ACE. Also, I somehow felt that I would win today. 2:1 has always been my favorite score, and my prepared strategy was pretty decent as well, so I played with a light heart. - Your strategy today was good. ▲ I told myself that since I had already prepared this strategy beforehand, regardless of what Sangho does, I will use this strategy. My scouting probe was killed early so I was taken slightly aback, but other than that, it was not very different than as per during practice. - After the entry of the new recruits, the practice environment seemed to have improved a lot. ▲ Our atmosphere has improved with the joining of the new recruits. Our team members have gotten into the OSL, and we also went Win-Lose-Win after ending our 11-game losing streak, so I can definitely feel the positive change in our team's atmosphere. Everyone is feeling very confident, so when the new recruits join us, we can aim even higher. - You must be envious of GoRush and Casy's qualification into the OSL. ▲ I am envious. I was eliminated by SoO, but actually I anticipated to play against RorO, so I focused on practicing against Zerg. I did not think too much about SoO, and I think that was what led to my elimination. Casy and GoRush have been practicing hard lately, and I think that paid off. I felt that I have to work a little bit harder. - ACE's Protoss line up seems to be the strongest. ▲ If people see it that way, then it is a good thing. Private YellOw is practicing really hard, but his results aren't showing so it really is a pity. I personally like YellOw so it is even more of a pity. For the Terran line up, Casy is doing well while for the Zerg line up, GoRush is slowly doing his part, so I think our team has all the line ups covered well. - Your determination for Round 4. ▲ I feel very sorry towards my fans and my parents for losing so much recently. If I win just once, I feel that I can start winning again, and now that that has become true, I will work hard with that mindset and show the same good performance I displayed in Round 3. - Any final words? ▲ I feel sorry for my coach and teammates for all my losses so far. Now that we have successfully turned the tables around, I hope we can all work hard together. I want to thank Samsung Khan's yoOn for helping me with practice.

I've come to realize that win or lose ACE games are the most entertaining in all of proleague. They bring such an exciting old school flair to the games. All the games today by ACE had such aggressive builds as well. gg

and people were upset that Daezang was in the lineup instead of Reach.. no doubt Reach is good, but Daezang can be great.

Thanks for translation ! Go DaezanG!

It's really weird actually because I saw fomos' official photographer before the event and yet only one of their staff turned up to do interviews. No photos were taken by them during the entire event (which is unheard of usually.) That photo is not from yesterday - I know not only because they didn't go out to do photos as usual, but also because Daezang did not wear his glasses yesterday and Cloud wore his. I'm not sure what happened, but if felt strange to be the only photographer working an SC event for once - there's usually at least three of us O.o
I was sad to see eSTRO lose (especially after the fun food party we had before the matches began.) but it also allowed me to get my first ACE photoshoot so I am pleased in that respect. It's nice to see ACE evolving and becoming more of a threat and less 'auto-win' for the opposing team.

This makes me worry for Casy considering he's the only Terran they have that actually matters. He also has to practice for his OSL games and such too.
Here's to hoping Xellos can actually do something.

I'm beginning to think depth at every race is one of the most critical pieces to the puzzle of why certain teams do well and why others don't. CJ Entus players seem to all be doing well, because they have so much depth. Same for STX's zerg. I can't imagine how bad luxury feels right now going 1-4 as KTF's only competent zerg, and thus directly responsible for how poorly his team is doing. Especially right after winning the MSL, this has to shake his confidence and his mindset for his matches. If he had another zerg player to help keep him grounded and take some pressure off, I imagine he'd be doing better.
I only really started watching pro SC relatively recently, so I could be off-base here completely -- SKT is raping everyone right now, and they don't have that much depth (other than bisu/best), but their zerg player is playing uncharacteristically well, which he himself credits to the addition of mumyung as his personal coach.

heh I don't really consider canata "depth", but you're right that fantasy does have boxer/oov, which I neglected to think about even though I mentioned mumyung. Coaching depth obviously has an impact as well.

Yeaj, just freelance, but I do quite a bit of work for them. One of the perks is being able to chill out with the team during proleagues. They're lovely guys - a mixture of out-going people who speaks quite a lot of English (Sangho, Suny, UpMagic and Puma.) and shyer players such as Seiya and newcomer Haran.

Hahaha - well his sentence construction is adorably mixed up, but then again so is mine in Korean so we match each other in terms of language level. I love chatting with him though because you never know what he'll say next. I think he most competant english speaker on the team is Suny though - Sangho often asks him for vocabulary to use when he's talking to me.

It's nice to see ACE evolving and becoming more of a threat and less 'auto-win' for the opposing team. Haha, what? I work for the company that owns the team and they're nice kids so I bought them a load of food before the match and we all sat backstage eating it together (and getting filmed by one of the OGN camera men -_- ) I bought chicken especially for Heesung because he loves it and he ate almost all of it before Suny and Sangho stole a couple of pieces lol. Ooo, didn't know you worked for such a company! Must be awesome! eSTRO players sound so fun to be with, haha. Your siggy says otherwise Hahaha - well his sentence construction is adorably mixed up, but then again so is mine in Korean so we match each other in terms of language level. I love chatting with him though because you never know what he'll say next. I think he most competant english speaker on the team is Suny though - Sangho often asks him for vocabulary to use when he's talking to me. Ooo, you really have to have an interview with them one day. In English! I want to hear them speak english haha

That really would be very, very adorable. I might ask for permission to film them using our video camera for some English moments. More people need to see how wonderfully welcoming, witty and fun the members of the team and coaches/manager are.

Yup, having an alternative view of the players, not just of them playing, would be so awesome. Like those 'behind-the-scenes' stuff.
