This more or less applies to just regular companies. If your boss wants you fired, he's not going to openly ask your co-workers what they think of the idea. I'm glad ForGG moved. I like him, and it really sucked that he's stuck behind Lomo and Hiya. But his relationship with the coach made it more understandable. Well, I guess when you're a teenager, eve being a starleague champion doesn't mean squat in front of the coach. It's a bit different than a work place. In progaming environment they live together like in an army unit. While I'm not in the army I'd guess they do inform the rest of the squad of a transfer or at least the soldier would tell his everyone else.

Did you talk to any of your former teammates about this after the news came out? -Right after Fomos posted the news, I got some phone calls from my former teammates. They were very surprised, guess they didn’t know… lol you'd think that a huge presence in the team like him would at least tell them and have a big going away party or something

Once, Coach Cho said something along the lines of “ForGG needs to perform better…” in an interview, and gave ForGG a warning during practice. After that, ForGG didn’t play much. The last time he played was on February 11th against ACE. Regarding this, fans have asked Coach Cho whether or not there are any issues before, but the coach said that there aren’t any issues, and also said that ForGG will not be transferred to another team… fucked up coach, reminds me of OGN Coach vs Casy.

I've heard Hot being referred in a bad way several times but nobody ever explains in the threads it's brought up in. It's a bit different than a work place. Actually, my exact analogy was to other sports teams, which operate more or less the same way. I'm guessing you don't really follow any team sports. If you do, you'd realize that underneath all that sportsmanship, comradrie, and bonding among players and coaches, it's still a business. And in the end players are just hired workers who are beneath the decision-makers. The business side of sports is ugly. And I also don't like Coach Cho. The whole thing about him and Jaedong at WCG was just creepy(by my admittedly biased western standard). Perhaps ForGG pissed him off by not rolling over against Jaedong in the Arena MSL?

Well I was thinking of business companies since you referred to that as well. Though even if it is just "business" in sports teams I'd still think they would tell others before they leave. Whether not it is "business" I'd think you would make at least some friends especially when you live with them. I mean some of ForGG's teammates messaged him and were shocked that he leaving for KTF so it does seem like they cared. Plus you always hear in the interviews asking the progamers who they're close to on their team and even their talk about who outside their team who helped them practice. One line that's been said several times in different ways is "You'd be surprised how close the progamers are" But you know ForGG might be the odd ball or hated by the coach like what's being discussed.

Idk about other places but in Europe, in any teamsport I am aware of, a player has a right to choose if he wants to leave or not and the team has the same right as well. So basically both parties have to agree for the transfer to take place. I don't know what sports are you refering to but that's definitely the way in football, basketball, volleyball, 3 main team sports in Europe. And yes, sport in the end is business but both parties, players and teams have their obligations. It's not that easy to fire a player unless his contract has expired. Otherwise you will have to pay him compensation which usually is huge.

But notice you're talking about friendship among players themselves, rather than with the management. That's different concept. In fact, the reason why these things go down w/o players' knowledge if BECAUSE they're close. And you don't want that to influence your decision. We're talking about teenagers who don't know anything about business, and pretty much "owned" by their teams. Plus I'm believe all but the best players don't make enough money for business savvy agents to speak on their behalf. Which is really what these kids need.
