Fantasy Winners League Playoffs

Rules:

(Feel free to join in if you haven't, but you'll be at a disadvantage of having scored 0 points for the first week)

1. You get to choose four players
2. These players must be from one of the four playoff teams (list provided below)
3. After each playoff match, you can swap out two of your players for any two of the other players.*
4. Scoring will be the same as in Fantasy Winners League.
5. To enter your team send it in a PM to semioldguy (click there to send a PM!) All PM's are final
6. Please go take a look at Rule 3 again, I'm sure it will impact making your team.

*It will be everyone’s own responsibility to PM semioldguy (that’s me) your trades each week if any. You can send them in at any time before the matches start. Once the games start though I can’t allow you to trade.

Week Two

A perfect team this week would have been at the cost of a perfect team last week. (Z)

Jaedong and any three Hwaseung players would have gotten it done. And since last week's perfect team would have been better anyway, the best teams did not come out with the maximum of 13 points this week. I am surprised that there were not more teams that scored above 11 points, as quite a few had (Z)

Jaedong in week one in what I can only imagine as a preparation for a Hwaseung victory in the second week and having more Hwaseung players than the majority of others.

There was however, a single team that scored 12 points this week (with a fourth player as the recently non-Hwaseung (T)

fOrGG), unfortunately for FMGustave, he didn't score any points last week and still has an enormous amount of catching up to do. It's likely an impossible hill to climb, but he has his moment in the spotlight for this week where he walked away as the week's top scorer.

Remember that you get to trade up to two of your players for new ones this week as Hwaseung goes on to battle CJ Entus for the Winners League Championship. This is going to be the week where a winner emerges, and with such diversity on the CJ Entus team, it is likely that many of the teams that have been identical up until now will be branching out a little more in their newly acquired players.

Week One

Had anyone made the perfect team he would be at 19 points. That team would have been (Z)

HoeJJa,

fantasy and (P)

Bisu. No one made that team however and that leaves a cluster of people at 15 points and a handful more only a point or two down. In my opinion each week gets increasingly more difficult to predict, especially with CJ where it will be difficult to say who will be playing as their lineup is so deep that almost any of their players could get a chance to go out and play.

Luxury and either (P)

fantasy. almost every team had several of these players, though a couple managed to pick none of these five. Those teams could probably be doing better and all have some catching up to do. The ones who choose Fantasy over Best should be patting themselves on the back a little bit, despite the enormous tie between more than twenty of them. There are a few more interesting and unique teams that sit not too far behind at 14 points.

Other KTF players - 1 point

This is for those of you who can’t go for the next three weeks before the next round of Fantasy Proleague. This thread will be renamed and turned into the Standings thread when the contest closes. No real need for much of an intro… let’s just get right to the rules.

Rules:

1. You get to choose four players
2. These players must be from one of the four playoff teams (list provided below)
3. After each playoff match, you can swap out two of your players for any two of the other players.*
4. Scoring will be the same as in Fantasy Winners League.
5. To enter your team send it in a PM to semioldguy (click there to send a PM!) All PM's are final
6. Please go take a look at Rule 3 again, I'm sure it will impact making your team.

*It will be everyone’s own responsibility to PM semioldguy (that’s me) your trades each week if any. You can send them in at any time before the matches start. Once the games start though I can’t allow you to trade.

*Only counts once, i.e. if Flash goes 4-0, he still only gets 1 appearance point
**Streaks do not carry over between matches, all streaks must occur in the same match
***This counts for all players on the team's roster, they don't have to have played in the match

For my team I might pick (P)

If SKT did not advance I would only be able to trade away two of my three SKT players for new players, while the third one would essentially be a dead position until I could trade him away the last week. However, if SKT wins, then three of my four players advance to the next game and allows me for more trading options (plus more team win points). So I could choose to put all my eggs in one basket or try to keep two players from each team on my roster each week to ensure that all my players have a chance to earn points each week.

There is no point cost for any players so you can choose whoever you want for your four players as long as they come from the four playoff teams.

Yes, the playoffs will be in All-Kill format.

And yes that is true.

You could also start off with two OZ players (even though you know they won't earn any points for the first match) and two SKT players and trade to get four OZ players for next week if you thought that'd get you more points in the end.

You can trade two people after each match. Other than that there are no limits to who you can or can't trade for. Though I'd definitely recommend that you trade for players on teams that haven't been eliminated from the playoffs :p

Considering this is almost guaranteed to end in some kind of tie for 1st place, I'll probably be making my team of players others are less likely to pick. (i.e. not Bisu/Flash/Lux)

In a weird way, this probably makes me more likely to win (since I don't consider finishing tied with someone else for first a win

).

Of course I may have just ruined my ingenious plan by telling you all about it, but at least it will make things more interesting.

You can submit this up until the first game starts... which should be 13:00 TL Time on March 15, meaning you will be able to wait and see which two players will be starting (the same will work for trades)

Personally... I don't even think Bisu, Flash, Luxury and Best/Fantasy is even the strongest starting lineup. It not even something I would consider for this and I intend on winning. I am currently debating between about six different teams all of which I think are potentially stronger than the common team many people have been submitting, though a couple of those players may show up on one or two of them, most certainly not all of them.

Just send a PM with the two players you want to take off and the two you want to add. (It doesn't have to be two, it could just be one, or even zero, two is just the maximum)

Think I'm going to have to take a swing at this as a warmup for entering the next FPL round? For starters... I'll say the winning strategy will involve no KTF Protoss and no SK Zerg, but I wouldn't make predictions beyond that.

in the OP it says that i can only make TWO trades per match, but then you say that if SKT1 wins and your team was bisu/best/fantasy/flash then you would be able to make 3 trades, i don't get it?

I had Jaedong, Skyhigh, but 2 more OZ players - perfect for me would have been Skyhigh sniping Jaedong and then getting killed.
