I've been looking around for Starcraft players at NYU for quite some time now, but it's my first time actually making a thread about it. I mean, Rutgers has their own Hamachi server lol. I'm sure NYU has a few Starcraft players... anyone?
I'm interested in making a small, casual practice league. we can set up an NYU Hamachi network and just practice with other fellow uni students, because honestly, the internet here is so slow, it's a hassle connecting to iccup and getting booted 5 straight times for lagging. any NYU students on TL interested in something like this? first of all, though, ARE there any people from NYU at TL?
Edit: I'm setting up a LAN over Spring break. Anybody who wants to attend, please PM me or post in the thread. I'm thinking of having it next Thursday, the 19th. However, the time and date are entirely negotiable. I'm also open to any ideas for an after party or something of the sort (perhaps getting some good Korean BBQ in K-town or something). I'm thinking around 10-15 people would be a great turnout.
Is everyone ok with the date? I decided we're going to meet next Thursday around 4 PM at Web2Zone.

(Amusingly, I went to Rutgers for undergrad.) So I was the NYU coordinator for the CSL, and I've only been contacted by two other people.
As far as I know, aside from those two, I know another grad student that plays, and Maynard (fake Maynard I think? Not the original) is a law student with me.

There are so many Korean transfer students here at U-Hall, I should just go up to each and every one of them and ask if they play Starcraft. We're bound to get at least 1 A- ranked Korean haha. But we should really set up a Hamachi server to play - the internet here is excruciatingly slow.

Hey, I go to NYU and currently dorm at Coral. I joined the facebook group.  We should definitely set up a meet or some sort of lan if we get enough people or something.

Does everyone know where Web2Zone is? Perhaps if we get a substantial membership we can meet up there for a small LAN meet up, assuming that everyone is not too busy lately. Although midterms are rapidly approaching...
For those who don't know where Web2Zone is, it's located at 54 Cooper Square between 3rd and 4th Ave.

thats a nice place and easy to find. Driven down there a couple of times and taken the train/subway. Shame I live too far outside of the city to make trips in

I'm at NYU (living down in Laf), I met 2 guys who played over bnet but haven't seen them on in a few months. I wouldn't mind meeting up for a LAN once or twice, especially if we got a good turnout.

Glad to here this kind of stuff lol I used to play ALOT with my Korean friends when I was in campus. Sadly most of the guys I know (including myself) are taking a leave of absence due to military service. Joined the facebook group anyways.

I go to NYU.. I've played several people before over in K-Town. I know one A- player who's CAS Pre-Med student. He rarely plays anymore, but when he gets into the groove, he's really unstoppable in Z.

Would any of you be interested in attending a LAN session over spring break (March 14-21)? We can have a big LAN party and go to K-town afterward to eat. Also, ghostoutlaw, the guy who's making the SC documentary, is interested in interviewing the NYC area Starcraft players; so, it could be interest, eh?

Well I go to Stuy and we have a few players, if that counts. It's senior year too so senioritis FTW. We're mostly on iCCuP but if there's a NYC hamachi server I'd be willing to join.
BTW if there are any other stuy kids around, we usually chill on op stuy on iccup.

Hey, just as a real quick update. I have an HD cam and full equipment for all of next week (got so lucky I got the last HD cam for spring break). So keep me in the loop about date and times. Monday/tuesday are no good for me but I mean, if thats when you guys do it thats when you guys do it. I am actually going to talk to web2zone today to check on filming stuff and see if they want to put up something about the minor event going on, if thats cool with all of you guys. Let me know!

Well, I'm around... I live in NYC and transferred to Brooklyn College from GWU this semester... but yea... I'm not exactly "NYU" student but I believe I'm just as good.. lol

Oh crap I just graduated this May~~ (and my Starcraft CD is broken...) but I joined the Facebook group anyhow...nostalgic to see some NYU references (U-Hall, Kimmel, kkk)...I personally know someone at NYU who plays SC and I forwarded the link to him...good effort...NYU's legendary "lack of community" (which I don't buy any..I had great time at NYU~~~~~) might make it seem like there are nobody with your interest but if u dig them up any interest would come to you....it's the biggest private university in the nation...and just that ppl are caught up with so much stuff so it takes effort to find like-minded...good luck guys, and good to see some NYUers here
