A lot of people here on TL are in love with sAviOr, Stork, BoxeR, NonY, etc. but I'm really curious about which progamers have the most fans here on TL, and which progamers truly are the most beloved by the TL fanbase.
To Participate: Make a list of your favorite 5 KOREAN progamers, and favorite 3 FOREIGNERS (Any Non-Korean) and post it to this thread. (Order does not matter, and just to clarify, Nony/IdrA/Grrrr... etc. will naturally be ranked as foreigners.) Each time a player's name appears in a list, he (or ToSsGirL) will get a point.
Guidelines: 1. Submit your favorite 5/3 only once please. 2. Please do not change your favorite 5/3 after you have posted. 3. Feel free to place obscure and retired players in your lists. 4. You may choose to ONLY list Foreigners, or ONLY list Koreans if you wish. 5. Any lists with more or less than 5/3 entries will NOT be added to the ranking. 6. I've decided to add this because I've been getting some flak about this thread from a few people.
This poll is 100% logically accurate. That's not debatable. In order for something to be inaccurate, the method has to not match the result. It's not innacurate if you take the method into consideration. I intended to create a ranking BASED ON THE METHOD PRESENTED, and I have. It's accurate.
Example: It's a TRUE FACT that more people who have contributed to this thread would put UpMagic in their top 5 than Xellos. I'm not saying that UpMagic is universally better liked than Xellos, I'm simply saying that he appeared more often than Xellos in the top 5 lists of those who contributed to this thread. It's fact. I'm simply presenting data based upon the method. I'm not responsible for how you interpret that information.
Example #2: Yes, of course Tasteless would get a lot more votes if this was a commentator poll, but it's not a commentator poll. Once again, it's a TRUE FACT that he has appeared in LESS top 3 favorite foreigner lists than Chill or Artosis. This does not reflect his commentating skill, it simply reflects the number of people who have put each commentator in their list. Once again, I'm presenting data based on the method, how you interpret that data is up to you.

BackHo (his game are often soooo entertaining, i don't care if he sucks :p). 5. firebathero ... just to have a Terran.
Foreigner: 1. Mondragon (back in the days as PG was DEF and the german *elite* played on fsgs/marquis I knew him :p). 2. Nony (just seems to be a nice guy). 3. Draco (just for the hate he gets).
Honorary mentions (giving some explanation to make up for the fact that they didn't get my vote ): NaDa - I've always liked him, but I probably wouldn't have considered him for my top 5 favorites if I hadn't met him at Blizzcon, where he was probably the nicest of the progamers I got signatures from. Bisu - He grew on me. Didn't like that he beat savior, but ever since then I've really grown to love his play. If the ones in my list weren't so damn ingrained, he'd be an easy contender.

It's okay if you change the list as long as it isn't more than a few minutes after you post. Also, sorry that it's only top 5, I wanted to do top 10 but figured I'd get more participation with top 5. Not to mention it better shows TRUE favorites, I believe.

Alright, I've updated the OP up until the end of page 5, added lots of statistics and fun facts, and will be updating it again sometime before the MBC stuff goes on sale tomorrow.

interesting to note that though theres been a bunch of people whove voted for all three of the top three foreigners (NonY/mondy/jian fei) but not a signle person has voted straight top 5 koreans (boxer, savior, bisu, jaedong, nada).

Man its so hard to make a top 5. A top 10 would be much easier. Years ago my list would be so different. It sucked not being able to include Reach, AnomiA, DaezanG, Kingdom, Oov, Xellos, etc.
Foreigners well I don't follow it much but slayer was a talent that quit too early. He could've gone very far. The lesser known germans [ props to mondi ] were always interesting to me. Schniblor/dashwriter/gentleman, etc... I put nony as third instead of Grrrr because he's the only foreigner whose attempted to go pro with the right attitude imo. Maybe assem did too but the community didn't get to hear from him much. Its kinda a tragedy what happened to Grrrr but I think Nony has the chance to patch up foreigner history before sc2 comes out.

edit: Also a small typo. In the OP foreigner list you spelled NTT as NNT. Some of the older players might be upset =p
I'm a Zerg/Random/CJ fanboy. Midas is just up there because I usually feel really bad for him when he loses, so I cheer him on every time he has a match. T_T
Note: this list is really who I cheer for rather than who I think are the best players ever. Except my #1 of kor / non kor also represents my favorite all time player each.

They're derived from each other, yes. But if you're going to be that way about it, all of the fun facts are pointless, because they are all simply observations of what's already available. It's just to point out things that are fun and interesting.

Yes I had planned this originally, but I don't really know off the top of my head which proteam some of the lesser known players belong to... So it'd kind of be a hassle to keep track of with updates and stuff... I still may do it, though.

haha, yeah a lot of people tended to like the same types... Whether it be all oldschoolers, all newschoolasskickers, or all obscure players, all destroyer players, etc. ... I'm quite impressed with the spread of players from many different generations though.

Lemonwalrus is correct. For one, you updated your list LONG after it was counted, and for two, adding Stats to your list would put you at 6, instead of 5.
If it's important to you that your vote for Stats be counted, I'll make an exception and add him, as long as you let me know which progamer you would like to remove from your original list.

Well of course! It's not about "Who's the best commentator." Obviously you'd win that, Tasteless. It's just pointing out how many 'favorite foreigner' lists each of you appeared on. It has nothing to do with your commentating skill, it's just comparing the three people on the list who commentate. I'm simply displaying the data in an interesting manner.

ok, I understand the fact that the poll is accurate, I wasn`t explaining the things I want to say right. What I wanted to say was that Xellos is more loved than UpMagic, but yes, u are right, upmagic got in the top5 more time than xellos has, sorry
