Awesome! I'm usually not a big fan of many foreigners but NonY has such an awesome personality and he's very talented; I must say hes one of my favorite players to watch, including Koreans.
EDIT: Like I seem to find myself rooting for IdrA just because hes a foreigner in Korea, but I honestly don't like him at all. NonY, on the other hand, would have my full support on all fronts :D NonY to Korea~ gogogo!

it is easy to read confidence as arrogance if that is what you're looking for, it is much harder when you're looking at it.

never liked nony too much from what he wrote on the forums because he always seemed rather arrogant but as i now saw him in the interview ("authentically") my view has changed moderately. it's not just plain "being full of himself" but a solid confidence he'll need when following such a career.
apart from him i don't know who'd be willing to go to korea but it's a pity JF doesn't have the chance / doesn't want to as he's still young and very talented.

Awesome interview, really enjoyed it. This is the first time I see Nony in an interview and he seems like a really nice guy. Thanks Nony and Crow for that. Crow I hope you will do one with the winner of the USA finals, too. Although it's most likely that it will be Nony again, haha.

Did his body language betray that he's going to Blizzcon? But then again, he was smiling a lot duing the whole interview.
Strelok is matched with Savior. If Nony wins WCG and puts up a good game vs Savior then that really adds to his record. CJ Entus is watching for sure.
But yeah, first he must make sure that the same doesn't happen to him like happened to Idra.

Very nice and insightful interview. I think you can catch a glimpse of his personality a bit better in the video interview than just by reading all the other interviews. Nony seems like a very cool guy. I wish him all the best and hope that he will get picked for Korea.

That and from what Idra and Artosis say the environment was horrible in eSTRO. Nony is right though, since Idra surely has to change his style so much it's probably tough to adjust, in a year I can guarantee Idra will be consistently better than all foreigners.
Hopefully the environment has improved with Artosis' being there, or Nony will get traded early. Nony to SKT imo. How epic would that be? They should bring 2v2 back and then Nony/Boxer team will dominate. And he could hang out with Bisu all the time, one of the progamers Nony surely got his immaculate builds from.

Yeah that would be good, especially if they stopped playing Backho and started playing Nony as soon as he gets totally gosu.

NonY's persona is ideal for going abroad to be a progamer. I have to say by watching NonY and Idra's video interviews. Idra lacks social skills, humor, and seems afraid to talk too in depth. NonY will .. well to sum it up.. he's a normal person. Idra has spent way too much time in the closet by himself. He probably has no really good relationship with the koreans unless they approach him and try like hell. In which case he probably doesn't say much or try to communicate much. I can see NonY as most normal people would, have a blast with the communication barrier and get close with them solely based on his lively persona. I think these are also key factors in being successful there. If you can easily adapt to Everything.. your state of mind is very good which is really when all players play their best. Idra in my opinion is probably in Korea training very hard but lacks the happy mindset he really needs. He is probably happy with the experience he is getting being in Korea etc, but if he would open his personal character up A LOT, he would dominate. Anyone disagree or agree? I would love to say, look at Grrrr's performance.. Elky's performance.. those guys had some good character as well as the 'want to' learn the Korean language to 'adapt' to that environment which they had a passion for (before poker took over).

well, this is all speculation, but i'm guessing he practices build orders, building placement on specific maps, and i guess single player might be good for practicing macro mechanics through repetition, making sure you're doing everything as quickly as possible when you don't really have to worry about the enemy

Yeah, I was really really impressed with Incontrol. He just comes off as a person who's values and interests go so far beyond what his outer physical appearance looks like. Sure, if you look at him you think that he could power lift like he does, but would you even guess that he's one of the best SC players in the country? I wouldn't.

Good interview w Inc / Machine, however I think Inc's soccer argument could be turned on its head - ie a lot of the guys who could do really well in SC (and now SC2) pick WC3 because, well, it's the newer game.

1. FrozenArbiter: SC still took all the talent.. save for a few just like Soccer in USA. You can theoretically argue against this but the fact is in the USA most of the top athletes are football, baseball or basketball players. War3 took some old talents (speed in SC fell off) and they took a very few number of young guns that woulda been big in SC. The allure of playing the legendary game of SC which requires speed, skill, brainpower and endurance (imo) outweigh the desire to play a game that looks pretty and is famous for "great" micro.
2. My pants weren't unzipped.. they are horrible and don't cover the zipper despite me trying to cover them by pulling the fabric over the zipper constantly.

i assume playing a computer game for 50+hours/week and sleeping with a bunch of other guys in a small room is a good way to spend your time for a year or w/e for some guys. its probably a different attitude towards life, some do enjoy the new experience in an asian country and stuff. i mean playing computer most of the time is what they've done 1,2,3yrs before going to korea anyway. theyve just changed the country, culture and stuff, not their daily routine.
not saying backpacking through euro is a better choice and not a waste of life ;p

Good interview from Dreamhack, your interviews seem to be getting better and better! Hope you don't mind me posting this (I wasn't sure if I should make a new topic for just this, but I liked the interview and wanted to share).
I found his comments on how you can't really split your army past tier 2 in WC3 due to all the stun/ensnare/slow type spells, interesting.
