Nah, the solution to this should be obvious. Integrate Zynastors maphack into icc launcher. If everyone is maphacking then nobody has an unfair advantage. EZ. It'd be a little weird at first, learning to play with hack, and build orders would get crazy with people doing like 5 hatch before pool but it'd end cheating with hacks.
Oh, and it'd force Zynastor into trying to write hacks that stop your opponent maphacking because that's the only way they'd give a meaningful advantage to the hacker.

Bare in mind that these kah 1.3 maps still work on nearly every single hack, except Oblivion users who have the most recent patch. I don't know how often hackers check the site, so I'd imagine there'll still be tons of people using outdated hacks which the map still counter. I'm not positive atm which type of hacks do actually work on this map, it's possible that normal map hack even though the oblivion hack still is dropped by the map.

Regardless, the blame still lies entirely with Zynastor. Nobody forced him to make an icc hack. Nobody forced him to make it public. He chose to do both things freely and as such they are his fault.

just because he is not the sole cause doesnt absolve him from blame. if moto were not a dipshit the iccup hack would not be released. the guy said he had no intention of releasing it and apparently hadnt until now. obviously the hacker is the root problem, but the idiot who set him off deserves just as much blame. when a kiddie with an attitude holds power its just fucking retarded to antagonize him.

I don't understand how you can hold this view. Moto didn't choose to release an iCCup hack, Zynastor did. Moto didn't choose for Zynastor to have ego issues, Zynastor did. I'm sure Moto isn't the first person to be a jerk to Zynastor because he releases hacks. He has the hate of everyone who plays BroodWar seriously, or cares about competitive BroodWar.

He doesn't care about competition, or the game. He just cares about showing everyone how he's a great and wondrous programmer. The way he spoke in the interview he believed himself to be some benevolent Demigod because he left iCCup alone. Now he wants to show that his benevolence has a limit, saying "look what happens when you insult me." He's egotistical and chose to take some malicious action because someone else challenged his omnipotence. And that someone didn't choose for him to have an inferiority complex. How could he have known anyway? He was flaming Zynastor because he doesn't like hacks.

And he's just as much an arrogant child, but isn't a malicious programmer who doesn't care about competitive gaming and even actively seeks to detriment it.

doesnt matter how much of a douche zynastor is. if it werent for moto the hack wouldntve been released. zynastor said he had no intentions of releasing the iccup hack and the fact that he didnt until he was provoked kinda validates that. moto did something retarded with an obvious potential consequence, how does he not deserve to be blamed for it?

obviously zynastor does as well, im not saying he doesnt.
