Glitching graphics effects have been added to the official StarCraft: Remastered website. Additionally, Redditors have found lore-related hidden content in the website's code.
Could this confirm rumors that a major StarCraft announcement will be made at BlizzCon? Games journalist Jason Schreier stated that Blizzard had a StarCraft shooter in incubation during a podcast appearance in September of 2024, while Windows Central speculated in April of 2026 that a StarCraft shooter was likely to be in development based on Blizzard's hirings.

My original kneejerk to hearing the starcraft ghost2.0 'leak' a year or however long ago it was now was that it was a red herring. The job listings have too much overlap with Overwatch to mean anything.
I do think BW will get a "modern" mode with some necessary patch changes to accompany it. (Multi building selection, worker rallies, dark swarm lasting an appropriate amount of time, etc.)
I think a new RTS has been cooking for quite some time, just with extreme caution. What IP it actually is for who knows.

All the Western media chatter has been about an FPS being made internally at Blizzard. Given how long it takes to develop games these days, and the timeline on the reporting (Jason Schreier first mentioned it in his 2024 book, which he would presumably have been writing since at least a year before then), I would assume it's this project being brought to light.
I think the reports that Nexon is licensing the StarCraft IP are also very credible, but they're too recent for there to be anything to show or announce at BlizzCon (the alleged bidding having occurred in March of 2025).

Its already been made clear to Blizzard that such changes are undesired by the community. If Blizzard were to reconsider that idea, they'd consult community figures like Artosis and Tasteless (and Koreans), and they would confirm that it remains a terrible idea.

Agreed, we can look to the sc2 patches and changes to know blizzard only does what is the interest of the people that play the game
If it is implemented I don't even think it will be given a matchmaking option, probably just a custom game drop-down.

So, will the shooter be on desktop or mobile? Seems like the shooter is the most likely reveal.
Also, there was a Warcraft leak last year with a timeline for future projects. It mentioned a project named Camelot. Dataminers found mentions of it this year. The same timeline also had Warcraft Chronicles RTS as one of the projects. It was marked for 2028. So still a few years away, if not cancelled. However, it would not be that surprising if there was more movement on the RTS front before 2028.

If it's the shooter, it's almost certainly PC + multiconsole. That's the overwhelming trend for triple-A games outside some non-applicable exceptions (console producers making some games platform exclusive). Note that Diablo 4 and Overwatch both launched as multiplatform.

Just trying to jinx it. Mobile-only could be a bigger fuck up than Diablo Immortal as far as optics go. PC + multiconsole makes the most sense.

StarCraft.com defaults to the remastered page, so I think it's as simple as that? It will likely redirect to the new game's page once it's announced.

Perhaps they could fix the netcode and implement a 2v2 ladder, oh wait...

Who is supposed to make that at Blizzard? Why would they let their entire RTS team go only to start cooking a new RTS? Keep in mind said RTS team kept pitching War 4/Star 3 for years, without any success. I don't think we'll see another Blizzard RTS for many years to come, if at all.
Imo its all but confirmed that we will see some form of starcraft spinoff title at this years Blizzcon. I just hope its not a f2p live service game full of micro transactions.

Whats the point of that? No one who plays Starcraft 1 right now would want that. Do you think it would appeal to SC2/War3 players? That would only move players from one Blizzard game to another, I don't see the point in that and neither would anyone at Blizzard. The general casual RTS crowd finds SC2 to be too hardcore, I don't think adding anything that you suggested would make BW more casual friendly than star 2. Do you think gen alphas will drop their roblox tiktok phones to buy a PC and install BW if you dumb it down a bit?
I find it so odd that this keeps coming up. No one who actually plays the game wants multi building selection, most find macroing without it to be one of the most fun aspects of the game. This just seems like cope hope from people who like to watch but don't play. You are not gonna magically enjoy the game if you don't have to move workers to mine at the start if you don't enjoy it as it is now.

I'd also like to point out, that the Blizzcon 2026 keyart is interesting, because for the history of Blizzcon/Gamescom keyart, they've never had like a generic marine before. It's always been Jimmy or Tychus in power armor.

Maybe we will get a second expansion pack after Brood War? Is that possible?

I don't think so. Thats possible for something like D2R given the warlock reception, but I think Brood War has a very particular fanbase that wouldn't take kindly to that.
