Additionally, small monthly prizes will be provided during the qualifier to the top rated 2v2 players who are registered for this tour for the months of December, January and February
Everyone is welcome to participate, including Chinese, Europeans, Koreans, Latin Americans, North Americans and others
Double Zerg and Double Random races are allowed
You can play with the same partner or with random public partners (or both) during the qualifier

Interested participants must register for this Tour in ShieldBattery discord server by Saturday, Feb 26 5:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
Total number of qualification spots to be determined. It will depend on number and skill level of qualified teams. But we will try to maximize the number of spots available
Format of tournament to be determined. It will depend on number and skill level of qualified teams. But it will be flexible and accommodating for players
Players can stream their qualifying games. Semi-finals and finals of tournament will be streamed exclusively live on TeamThinkQuickTTV. Other tournament matches might be streamed by other broadcasters.
Total prize for tournament winners to be determined. We will aim to crowdfund a minimum $1000 prize. We will also try to offer 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes to top 3 teams (shared equally among allies)
In addition to the tour prizes above, small monthly prizes will be offered to the top rated 2v2 players who are registered for tour. The top rated four individuals will receive $25 each!
Participants must register their 2v2 SB account name in the 2v2 channel of SB discord before the following deadlines to also qualify for the monthly prizes:
For December 2021 prize:
Register by Friday, Dec 31 5:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
For January 2022 prize:
Register Sunday, Jan 16 5:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
For February 2022 prize:
Register by Tuesday, Feb 16 5:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
You only need to register once. By registering before the December 31 deadline, you will be registered for the 2v2 tour and eligible for the December 2021 prize, January 2022 prize and February 2022 prize. If you register before the January 16 deadline, you will be registered for the tour and eligible for the January 2022 prize and February 22 prize, etc.
Register each new account name that you make in the SB discord if you wish to reset your record and remain registered in the tour

What does it mean to sign up for 2v2 SB Tour?
Signing up for the tour does not mean you get to play in the tour, you must qualify for it first.
Signing up just ensures that if you do qualify for the tour by achieving a high enough rating by the end of February 2022, then you will have a spot in the brackets (# of spots and format of tour will be determined).
Signing up for the tour also makes you eligible to receive the additional monthly prizes which will be given to the top rated 2v2 players for the months of December, January and February (e.g., four top 2v2 players receive $10 each).
Do I need ally or can I play with random public partners?
You can participate in this qualifier with or without a designated ally, meaning you can use SB's "designated partner" or "random public partner" options to pair up with allies. So it is not a problem if you sometimes play with a designated partner and sometimes play with random public partners during the qualifier. Just focus on maximizing your wins and having fun!
How does SB match system work?
It's similar to 1v1 ladder on battlenet. SB 2v2 ladder will try to pair you up with an ally (if you need a random public partner) and opponents who are similar to you in rating and ping. If the system has trouble doing that, only then will it try to match you with people who have different ratings and pings.
How do 2v2 ladder points work?
2v2 SB ladder has its own modified elo system. Points are won or lost based on the ratings of your opponents. So high rated teams will receive few points for beating much lower rated teams.
What can you do to help?
Please spread the word about 2v2 SB ladder and this tournament and consider donating to the prize pool (even $1 if you can). These things will help attract more 2v2 players and make sure enough matches can always be found on SB by the ladder system. Working together, we can help build a 2v2 community on SB

These monthly prizes are in addition to the final prizes we are offering to the winners of the tour at the very end. MyFleetingDream had also donated $200 to that final prize pool by the way!

A registered tour player cannot win two monthly prizes for him/herself in a single month by placing top 4 with two different accounts
It is possible for a registered tour player to win a single monthly prize for one or more qualifying months (December, January and/or February).

Announcing the 2v2 Tour Format and Schedule!
Format:
- 16-team double elimination 2v2 tournament
- Teams must be submitted before brackets are generated on 3/27. Post the names of both players in your team in the Shield Battery 2v2 tourney-signup channel, or message an admin.
- From March 27 through May 7, each team plays one Bo5 per week and submits replays.
- On Saturday, May 14, 2022 5:00 PM CEST, winner bracket finals, loser bracket finals, and grand finals will be played live. Grand finals is Bo7 with 1-0 advantage to the winner’s side.
- Map pool: Colosseum 2.0, Fighting Spirit 1.3, Othello 1.1, Polypoid, Python 1.3, Sparkle 1.1, The Hunters (2021)
- Prize pool is paid out to the top 3 teams in a 50-30-20 split. Each teammate gets half of their team’s prize.

BOUNTY CHALLENGE
I am personally introducing a Foreigner-vs-Korea Bounty for this tournament. Scan + Zelot are favorites to win the tournament, as can seen by their SB ladder MMR and records. The challenge is to see who can train to defeat them! Scan + Zelot will not make this easy, as they will also receive a Survival Challenge.
Any team that defeats Scan + Zelot in their match will win $100
If Scan + Zelot can win the whole tournament losing no more than 5 games, then they will win $100 in addition to their tournament prize money.
