Honestly, I have no faith in blizzard whatsoever at this point. BW has needed team ladder for years now, so to think that even that would ever happened whilst they're "dealing" with all of these bugs is just a pipe dream. If they're not actively trying to fix the bugs that they themselves created in the first place they'd just be upgrading unit portraits and causing other bugs on a daily basis. It's over.

We have a fix for this exploit in testing for ShieldBattery, once we ensure that it doesn't break anything, we'll get it right out.

Words like Taiwan and Hong Kong are also banned in some parts of the latest patch, such as channel names and user ID's. Will SB be subject to this censorship as well or is that also something that can be worked around?

edit: this censorship is not on the rolled back patch if you're logged into the asia gateway on bnet app and server (the server select menu to the right of the play button in the app, not the asia server in-game)

I mean it's very easy to figure out given that we have a rep with it in the OP, but given that Blizzard has approximately 0 people with any knowledge of the game, can't seem to even roll back obviously bad patches in a reasonable timeframe (let alone not release them at all), and is generally completely unresponsive, the only path we have to not make their ladder completely insufferable is to keep it vaguely obscure. I'm not interested in sabotaging their platform even if I provide a competing one, so I'm not gonna give you step-by-step instructions on how to do this.

Regardless, we'll have a complete fix for this issue deployed to ShieldBattery in an hour or so.

In a normal development environment, the hotter the fire gets, the faster it gets put out. So that's absolutely true. However, Brood War is a 23-year-old game built on hacky solutions on top of other hacky solutions designed to plug pinhole leaks in the hull as they appeared, meaning the people best suited to resolve issues are people who have extensive firsthand legacy knowledge. This seems a bit harsh, given that this is not a hack but a bug of the game itself. Not every one who screws around once deserves to be banished.

Actually I think they do. This bug is not something that you may accidentally trigger but something that needs some research and practice, so you would do it on purpose and need to be punished for it.

I already lost some games due to this bug and I'm really worried this will get more and more common and will break the game (if nobody at Blizzard fixes it).

I just tried this bug in a 3v3 game flying an scv over hatcheries command centers of my enemies. They didnt even care to type anything xD

Laughed my ass off how little response i got.

Its mainstream already xD
