Nyoken has been casting more BW in the last 3 years than anyone else in the scene.
Scan has been doing some casting too lately and has the deep game knowledge that will make up for any other inadequacies as they relate to being inexperienced with announcing games.

I think that first sentence isn't true, but he has been casting a lot.
I'd probably sooner guess Qikz since he solo casts all of STPL.

Fair enough.
But my point is Nyoken is a very good caster, he's put in a lot of hours casting both foreigners and Korean pros in the Remastered era.

Yea, I didn't really get where DooMeR was going with this but I decided to just take it at face value as something they could do instead of looking at it as potentially insulting them for lack of experience. Maybe he meant they could have an opportunity to work on their synergy and also bang out some games for English viewers' enjoyment? Who knows But it's absolutely true that neither caster is inexperienced.

100% behind this.
They might not have the... cohesion... Tastosis have as a duo, but they're definitely more than capable and honestly any overly critical comparisons would be a disservice for both duos. Tastosis put a lot of time and effort and brought us a ton of content (and everyone was free to choose whether to watch them or not), including online qualifiers for some seasons - and those were real marathons. Nyoken and Scan rose to the occasion really quickly when things went south, with the immense support of people like Cruiser who organize stuff. This is a real testament to the resiliency of the scene and that it may be somewhat small and niche compared to other esports, but it's very much alive and kicking. Makes me feel really good.

Fantastic news! I like Nyoken's casting and Scan seems extremely knowledgeable from what i've seen on Artosis streams. Looking forward to this!

Scan is by no exaggeration the most knowledgable english speaking person you can get. only if bisu only would cast in english, it could be better (;

Most of the videos recently uploaded to StarCastTV were cast by Scan. His cast is getting better and better. I'm sure Nyoken and Scan will do a good cast.

hi cruiser. thanks for this awesome news. glad to see nyoken and scan casting. very knowledgable casters. i got used to nyoken alot. may be you should consider Gypsy (if he is available) to co-cast with Nyoken when Scan has his games instead of a solo cast.
good luck and thanks again.

Not replying to you specifically but the chain. What i was getting at is. I am not sure they've casted together at all. They are both more of the analysis type casters and so both doing that is going to require some getting used to for both of them. Either one or both would have to pick up the mantle of following the action and keeping the pace of the game. The reason i said the qualifiers is I am not sure what content is allowed to be casted over and what isn't. So I figured if ASL has given them permission to cast over their broadcast live. Then that must mean all the ASL qualifiers are fair game so they have loads of content to get ready for it together.
EDIT: actually as I typed that out. I realized nyoken is actually a bit of both Analysis + play by play. Still working together and keeping the pace of the game while both trying to get their points across when things pop up is going to take practice. As well as practicing letting points go when the time has past and too much stuff is going on for it to be relevant anymore to the cast without feeling out of place or taking the attention away from the match. In my perfect starcraft world it would be all analysis ^_^ but for keeping the attention on the players and the pace of the game its probably not ideal.

In my perfect starcraft world it would be all analysis ^_^ but for keeping the attention on the players and the pace of the game its probably not ideal. I'm with you! I would prefer knowledge bomb after knowledge bomb, debates and agreements between two very well-informed high level players, and full on analysis. The game is so interesting and there are so many small things that even 20 year veteran players might not know, particularly some of the "hidden" knowledge from the Korean scene. So much history! So many nuanced situations!
But, I also submit, much as you did, that most casual viewers and hypbeasts would prefer a color commentator somewhere in the mix. I think Nyoken can definitely do it but I wouldn't want to shoehorn him into that role either. I think that regardless of what the synergy is like, a lot of people will get a lot from these casts - and as always, you can't please everyone. The "Tastosis-only" crowd are doing themselves a disservice if they don't tune in

This is great news. Big thanks to Scan and Nyoken, you guys are heroes.

Amazing development! The trite jokes of Tastosis surely aren't going to be missed by me.

This is great news imo. Both are pretty knowledgeable and this should fit the bill for those who were really looking forward to an english cast. I will be tuning in so good luck guys and thanks for this initiative.
