I didnt know they lost LCK, OGN really is what grew esports in korea.

There's multiple documentaries now about OGN, that also cover not just early days of brood war but also the growth of league for them.

Inevitable considering the situation, but still pretty sad. OGN always had great production and the matches were great too. It was also pretty cool that they helped out with SSL10/11 back in 2014/15 during the Sonic era, essentially reviving OSL even if for a short period of time: SSL and "OSL revived, Dream Realized"

The 2008 OSL finals was the first match of pro starcraft I watched live, and I was instantly hooked. Watched as much of every BW starleague I could after that. Sad to see this part of brood war history finally winding down -- I hope people have been proactive about archiving all their matches/broadcasts so we can continue to enjoy them in the future.

sad but not surprising... no audiences for months... big devs producing broadcasts on their own... Kart Rider & Darts & a decline in PUBG can't save that...

Not surprising, unfortunately. OGN was awesome back in the BW days, but it's days of glory are behind it.

A lot of the production staff that made a lot of the marquee esports programs at OGN jumped ship some time ago to those in house production arms.

Frankly I'm not surprised by this news. As Waxangel said, the major modern titles do their own production or outsource to Afreeca/SPOTV. OGN had a slim chance of surviving by picking up the rights to do the Nexon Kartrider League earlier this year but clearly wasn't enough to keep them afloat.

Incredibly sad but not super surprising. I'd heard they were scaling back a ton of their operations in the last year or so, including cancelling a lot of projects they'd only recently invested heavily in, so this doesn't come as a shock to me. But it still stings.

Dang, they had a good run, and lasted almost 8 years longer than MBCGame. It sucks that they got shafted in this era of accessible online streaming and developer-run eSports leagues. I wonder what will happen to their studio and other leftover assets.

I read some really detailed comments last year how OGN was losing foothold but this is way too sad to conceive. Even last year I was wondering if maybe we could have another joint OSL with the round robin format and the booth and the grey chairs even if they are empty and all that.

I'm lucky enough to have been able to have visited their studio and will always remember how much this seemingly random little channel gave me. Probably can only compare it to VH1 all in all

God damn this hurts to see. So many memories of staying up all night watching OSL at the turn of the last decade. I hope they release all the match replays and VODs somewhere
