his content is 0% bw so it should be in other games, not in bw streams. it doesn't offend me. it's just a matter of fact and btw, i avoid that stream bc i know it's not bw

However, maintaining that is a pain for afreeca streams since they don't have categories (as far as I know?) that can be queried through their API, so it would have to be done manually. We actually did remove Britney once before, but then he started that BW team league so we added him back again. I'd be fine with removing both Rain and Britney again if they don't stream BW at all anymore, but that seems hard to guess and I don't want to keep changing it back and forth again. ok i was thinking it was more of an old boys' mentality rather than more work for ya'll. thanks for correcting me. i'll stop pushing it. i just didn't want to come off as if I were somehow saying some players weren't 'worthy' which is what the discussion has become. that's not what i wanted ! thank you!

I could not have less of an investment in anything to do with any part of this conversation, but I like the bolded as a solution

will show fewer names. It would get clickier and trickier to find what you seek. A solution to this would be a small small change of the race icon that follows their name. Broodwar legends who now mainly stream other things can get a legend icon or something similar. Maybe a civilian or another neutral critter/unit. Is there a war veteran civilian unit in bw lore?(20 years, Still haven't playe the campaign). When the mouse pointer rests on it it can show a little info on it. If the top five streams are non-bw then change it. For now let em be part of the bw family.

Artosis players Brood War every Mon, Tue, Wed, and Fri. On Thurs he does The Pylon Show instead. When Artosis is playing Brood War he is listed in TL's Brood War steam list. However, when he does the Pylon show he is listed in TL's Starcraft 2 steam list instead. I am not sure if this is related, but the TL Live Streams list can change without website administration.

Judging from posts above, I believe it is related to twitch having API to report the game 'played'. Afreeca either does not, or it's a pita to find.

thing is, people use the sidebar to batch-check on streamers and for their bw/sc2 content specifically. maybe i'm speaking personally on this, but when i click on a bw stream these days, i expect to open a stream to them looking at pictures, food, or another game. it doesn't particularly appeal because i don't understand the language and context, and that's fine. it's a different sort of streaming culture and a different sort of expectations. however, unless we have knowledge on each individual streamer and their tendencies, it does take some time to find someone who is actually playing the video game that we want to watch, and that's nobody's fault. it's still a good tool because it's much better than individually following and checking each player that you may or may not be aware of and maybe sometimes you are interested in their other content. tl;dr supporting them individually and for their other content is of a different volition than what the streamer bar is usually used for. only suggestion i might have is maybe bolding players who we know focuses only on BW gameplay.

Using Rain as an example: 1. Get stream live info from http://afbbs.afreecatv.com:8080/api/video/get_bj_liveinfo.php?szBjId=ioioiobb From that, get the broadcast number from the thumbnail link (I'm not sure if there is a shortcut that gets you this directly). 2. Get the live info by POSTing that broadcast number bno=227092237&type=liveto https://live.afreecatv.com/afreeca/player_live_api.php From that, get the category from $.CHANNEL.CATE and look up the mapping which can be found in the source of the normal Afreeca player page (e.g. 00040001 is BW, 00040016 is SC2). Currently Rain's stream returns 00360046 which is apparently a game called V4.

They're mostly just playing StarCraft for a short while as some sort of event match on the stream. He said he would like to do content other than StarCraft for his future, and although it is very difficult to explain, he was greatly disappointed by StarCraft fans. Similarly, he was absent from ASTL and ASL. I don't think Rain will return to StarCraft.

It seemed like he was in great form and obviously he doesn't have to do military service because he donated an organ. It just seems like a weird time to quit when he literally is on the rise. I think he stated that he is having wrist issues. That being said, I spotted him playing BW with some girls the last time I peeked to his stream.

Not always the best descision making. I'm more impressed by his reavers in PvZ, and his PvP is very good.

I remember when he lost to Larva in what many thought was an upset at the time, he just kept suiciding units into Larva's hyper-defensive style. Sounds like your description of his PvT as well, unnecessarily straight up in a lot of ways.

On the other side, Larva sniped all the observers very precisely and didn't allow any kind of harassment.

Even Horang2 tuned in, and i think took part as a player. Calm plays 80% of the time. Sea plays occasionally too, also Zeus, Pusan, Midas etc. Guemchi and Britany almost never plays bw though.
