I also think he puts a lot more time into the game than a lot of the other streamers. | ||

One person name is pCs[Name] (Scan's korean friend) whispered to me: "hello, you wan't lessions from semi pro koreans for better play?" I said yes, why not? They invited me private channel, Scan and that korean was already on the channel. Scan told me i pay 400 or 500$ i don't remember and he play with me many many games, look replays, tell me good strategys, builds, etc. I said ok, becouse it's not much money for that, and i wanted come back to play and its good reason to comeback. In 2000-2004 i was played so much and i was good. (In 2004 in same topic, WHO is WHO, my name is already was question, you can search but its nevermind) So i said to Scan, why not, i ready to pay 200$, he said OK, than i paid. First day we played 1-2 games, after i everyday writted to him in skype, and it was very rare when he answered, in few worlds. He promised for me everythink before i paid the money, but after he crap to my head. After 3,5 months i asked him on Skype Scan, thats was all for 200 bucks? You promosied different. Than in few days ago he invited me Discord, and gived me link for download replays. (That replay pack everybody can download, he shared it in fan club members) So if we speak about backstabbing, you the biggest rogue who doing that. If you are gonna send 200$ to a guy, better ask for some specifics like the number of hours and so on, not just the promise that "he's gonna train you". If the deal from the start was for example : 200$ vs 10 Hrs of training (game/tips/replay analysis/answering questions etc), then you could start complaining if he didn't do the full 10 hours and did only 5 hours or something. But messaging him on Skype asking some questions 4 MONTHS after the deal was made, I kinda understand Scan that he didn't reply to you. So next time, pay $$ for very specific stuff, not some random promises ! | ||

I laughed and brushed away. It wasn't a big trouble anyways. I'm just providing an evidence that your action was fully wrong for the tournament. Your statement about "Shinee no good at English" is wrong. Korean school education teaches English ever since primary school. Not everyone will have an amazing English skill, but they know words. Speaking in broken English. Many foreigners I've seen in my area and Seoul are pretty much having no difficulty travelling in Korea. He doesn't need to study English for 1 year to understand, communicate and how to sign up for the tournaments.. | ||

I can't care less about somebody spending dollars to be taught and then getting screwed over. Explain your story whatever you want. Honestly, if you give somebody on the internet you hardly know and have trouble communicating with 200$ to teach you a game when there's actually plenty of free material you can learn from, you kind of have it coming. The beauty of this game is learning and growing by yourself with help from players who actually WANT to teach / help you. And letting other people play on your account for some good score in the ladder or tournament, that's just sad, where's your pride? Get your own accomplishments. Even sadder than people who used to get A+ on iCCup by dodging Koreans. And the person asking money for 'teaching' Brood War and screwing over those 'students' (if that's true), come on dude. Why make it so hard? If somebody wants to learn how to play, give him some tips and study replays. That was always the beautiful part of this community I have had the pleasure to be a part of for so long. Just help eachother out. Don't ask anything in return. Even players like flash are giving advise for free on their stream and awesome Koreans translating it for us! This bullshit destroys the community. Blackdrone and Scan made a coaching deal Blackdrone was not satisfyed with what he got for 200$ Scan declared that he gave 10h of input which for 200$ tbh in my eyes is a pretty fair deal... thats 20$h a 1to1 coaching in any other sport with a semi-professional involved starts from around 200$ an hour ! 2.) Blackdrone payed Shinee to level his account to 3000mmr I am pretty surprised this low selfesteem move seems to be quite accepted within parts of the TL community 3.) Blackdrone payed Shinee to smurf on his account in a tournament with Scan participating with the sole purpouse of getting back at Scan for being angry at how their coaching deal worked out. Funny part about this is he thinks it was insanely funny and everybody else also found it extremly funny except for Scan. That is just not true 1.) Bastrade Stuff was pretty frustrated when they found out and said they dont know how this shit can even happen. 2.) Scan said that he will play the games regardless and he doesnt want a DQ... he just wants the admins to know that from the skill level he can tell pretty easy he is not playing blackdrone. When Shinee brought the scvs to break Scan tank line in early midgame he knew something is wrong. Since when does Blackdrone make such good descisions ??? He must have improved a loooooooooooooot 3.) Scan Stream viewers started an investigation (Not Scan !) and found out its Shinee playing. 4.) Basetrade Stuff got noticed and DQed Shinee It was descison of Basetrade stuff not of Scan ! Basetrade also mentioned that they are not sure there will even be another SC:R tournament with being so much frustrated with this shit happening This are the pure facts. I feel that Scan deserved the $200 agreed upon prior to the training, yet chose to refund Blackdrone since he doesn't want to lose credibility or be involved in drama that hurts his image. Scan was obviously the bigger man in this topic of discussion, which is why I will continue to support his involvement in the Brood War community. Good job Scan, you handled this very well. | ||

Don't get me wrong, I think sziky and bonyth (and trutacz and eonzerg) being 200 points ahead of me makes perfect sense, as they are all superior players. And Draco holding his own at 2500 is certainly impressive. But right now, the ratings do not accurately display how good various players are. | ||

Is he really Reach? I got to play against him but then he played terran. Unfortunately he got disconnected from the game and when I'm looking the replay, I cannot say for sure if it is Reach. It could be but this terran played some quite funky style but his game was definitely very solid. If it actually was Reach, then I guess he was just messing around with terran? | ||
