That's really stupid. SC2 itself is not pulling anymore. Giving it BW title may attract people to it as seeing something on old on top again, like a click bait. SC2 can't fulfill that role.
. So here we are in a situation where terms are agreed upon between the sponsor and us. Suddenly, we are informed that Blizzard (yes, Blizzard) has demanded this Sunday's selection ceremony can only be streamed my tastless and artosis. We have been instructed by Blizzard, who has shown no interests in SC1 for half a decade, to not stream because they want their SC2 casters to perform the cast in a studio. Blizzard has barred us from casting the players we love this Sunday and xkcd and I from making additional money this Sunday. We are expected to sit back and watch the casting archon cast this event. So I'm just incredibly frustrated.
This is the like the ultimate form of assholness, dickness, bullshtting anyone can think of.

They wouldn't be casting these tournaments except Blizzard demanded that they did. We actually had the support of the Afreeca sponsors as they argued for us to be the sole Vant SL casters because they appreciate our passion for casting. Blizzard told them they had have them on. This is 100% true too. And finally, during the VANT starleague finals the casting Archon didn't even acknowledge our existence while we spent part of stream cheering them on and sending people in their direction to check them out.
I don't quite understand why blizzard wouldn't allow you to cast the selection ceremony but the rest is ok? Makes little sense to me. I disagree completely with your "passion" argument though. It's their job and while i actually think that they still like bw quite a lot (tasteless talks about it every other cast) at the end of the day it's a money thing. Afreeca probably wanted you to be the sole casters because you are cheaper, at least that's what i would suspect. Tastosis probably didn't even know that there was a second stream going on. I can understand your frustration, but at the same time i think some ideas here are a bit on the wishfull thinking side of things. Just keep doing it because you love it, other incentives are probably unrealistic though.

I wouldn't blame tastosis for not giving a shoutout. Maybe Blizzard wanted them to not mention you too?

Lol at the day when BW needs a broader audience that is coming from SC2, SC2 doesnt exist in Korea (just being funded by Blizz to sustain the scene, and with small group of fans) and those SC2 foreigners fans who are declining fast too are not going to move to watch BW suddenly, btw the money that is going to be pay to Artosis and Tasteless should go to the prizepool because it is really small and let the community casters do the job.

Blizzard doing some shitty moves? Doesn't surprise me at all to be honest.

That Afreeca Logo though

yep, the fkers from blizzard killed BW intentionally to force people to like their new shit, but the shit died because... well because its shit. They killed such great pro scene and left nothing afterwards. Ruined progamers dreams and ambitions and betrayed all the fans. Progamers started to retire crushing fans hearts and people withdrew from sc2, just a few new people were interested. Bizzard morons probably thought ''OH we failed, koreans are not so stupid and can actually see how crappy is our new product is compared to the original. We couldve kept sc1 alive and get money from it in korea. Well then, lets mess with the remnants of bw and continue to plague fans with our shit."
having tastosis cast is super great, but restricting others to cast is bitch move. As if bd and xkcd will steal their viewers...

Who still expects anything different from blizzard? They're not the company they used to be. I haven't bought a blizzard product since WoW vanilla and Sc2 WoL and will continue to do so.

Can someone please tell me who is who? Thanks in advance

but i dont understand something here .. Tastosis team is working for afreeca,so why in the first place afreeca is getting bisu/ama to stream anyway, and i dont understand at all blizzard informing them this, shouldnt be afreeca the one deciding who the hell is casting this?a bit of the same with the last season where in the last moment afreeca put tastosis to cast the final ;; and not like im complaining it was f*cking awesome to have them, they are good casters, they were good players.but it doesnt make much sense what afreeca is doing here -.- .

Im actually really surprised that Blizzard still interacts in Broodwar. I would really like to know how many of the former broodwar development team still work for Blizzard. I believe that the number is close to 0, so in theory the current company doesnt have any involvement in the product. But ok theory.. and reality... :D
